1) You draw an extra card thanks to the looting effect.
2) You pay 2 to replace the discarded card by putting a 3/2 onto the battlefield.
This just to explain the card advantage engine, without even mention other positive factors.
In the last decks where I played blue, I had 8-9 Creatures. I would see it as downgrade to discard them and pay 2 mana for a 3/2. Yes, the drawn card is obviously good to offset this. I also usually don't want to spend my mana in my combat phase, or on a 3/2 when I'm holding other cards.
Late game, when you have some board presence, this will obviously help to keep that presence and then some of the others issues will not be a problem.
I'm usually wrong about judging these cards, it's exactly why I'm here on these forums: to read what other people's opinions are about the cards, so I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just explaining why it doesn't feel right for me atm. I'm happy to see that wtwlf123 predicts skulk to be a lot better than we would suspect.
I've marked this card for testing as well. It's a big Flash creature that can be played for reasonable mana cost if you have a creature around. It allows you to keep your mana open in your opponent's turns which is something blue players tend to like a lot. I also like the last ability.
I don't see how this card is so good. You have to discard a creature card to get a 3/2 for 2 mana. Yes you can discard as part of another strategy or some looting ability, and thus recouping the discarded card somewhat by making a 3/2 token. But you also pay mana for that, and are you really that big on discarding creature cards you're holding in your hand, just to turn them into tokens? I don't get it...
Aside from the Mind Twist posted here I have seen very little good alter ideas for Mind Twist. Does anyone here have a cool idea or example for altering a Mind Twist?
I think you miss that the important asymmetrical part of this card is that you draw the extra card first.
Combined with plenty of Wheel effects in cube, this could be 2 dmg a turn easily but you're also giving your opponent extra cards. I'm not sure I'd play it..
I'm thinking of cutting Chaos Warp. It's not bad but it's not played often. Instead I want to add another instant or sorcery that fits burn decks. Lava Spike is a possibility, but I could try out Flame Rift or Flame Jet. Any preference or better alternatives?
Garruk, Apex Predator took the spot of Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker. This means I don't count the Garruk as a Golgari card.
At 7 mana you can play it in any B/x or G/x deck, although he is very likely to go in a G/x ramp deck.
That said, he may be cut at some point anyways. Some cards go out and in again later and vica versa ;-)
Thanks for the feedback.
Looking at the other topic about ramp spells in green I notice I don't have Nature's Lore. Should I be running it? I have 2 possible cuts for it: Heart Warden or Yavimaya Elder. Or should I find another cut? I get why both cards are solid but 1GG on the Elder scares ppl like hell and they think its abilities are irrelevant by the time it hits the board. Opinions?
I have spent tons of hours reading these forums. I consider this website my primary source for spoilers, cube discussions and deck primers. Very sad to see it come to an end. Thanks for everything!

I was thinking about this card when I was on the toilet.
I was wondering if anyone tried this in cube and how it played...
Would there be other Wishes you'd also consider?

Tried out Meren of Clan Nel Toth, didn't turn out as exciting, so it's going out.
What should I add instead: Pernicious Deed, Vraska the Unseen or Maelstrom Pulse ? (They have all been in my cube at some point)
