I doubt it's my computer, I actually have a better one with a 6-core up from a 2-core. And I am not on my house hold wireless network anymore but direct line into my cable/internet box. I should be faster, not slower.
Has anyone else noticed that MTGO is playing/reacting slower for about the last month or so? I mean everything from loading to changing tabs to in game button pushes. Even exiting the program seems to take longer. I know it's not my internet because I can pull up my web browser and it is just as fast a normal.
When they get something right I wish they would just leave it alone. I have used two screens since April 16'. I has helped me immensely during duels. I Moved over my chat and Card Preview windows to the second screen thus allowing me to be able to use most of my main screen for the duel field. And after I had played a match with those two windows on my second screen they stayed there whenever I started another match. That was nice. FINALLY something is where I left it the next time I would use it on MTGO. But since the last update of May 16'(I think it was the last) every time I start a new match I have to move them over EACH and EVERY time. What a pain. I would probably quit MTGO if I had started within the last 2 years or so, but I started with an original v1 Beta account and I have too much time/effort/cards(money)invested now. The best MTGO ever was was when Leaping Lizard was still running it. When WOTC took over sometime after the roll-out of v2.5 it has been a slow slide downhill ever since. I really miss some of the old features like "seeing" avatars sitting at tables waiting for someone to come and play. Nothing was cooler then have the "Royal Assassin" avatar waiting for a game with his feet kicked up on a table and cleaning his fingernails with his dagger. It is a shame that the digital team does not have the vision to put that kind of style into the game anymore. (End Rant).
Best card against living end that I found is Wheel of Sun and Moon (Cast on your opponent). It is also at least somewhat useful in general against many other decks.
I haven't had the chance to read all twelve pages of this thread yet, but does anyone know if MTGO is or is going to publish the results of the gauntlet winners and the decks they played. What decks are winning and what % of the opposing decks played against they beat would be very relevant to this discussion. I am sure someone at WOTC is sorting this data to help decide whether or not something needs to be done at the next B&R.
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but "FINALLY" MTGO did something right with giving us this offering. It would be nice if this became a regular offering. Also lets you try out decks to see what fits your style before spending a lot of money to get the pricey cards. Biggest thing MTGO has done right since going to v4 (not saying v4 was a good idea, it seemed barely like a late Alpha stage when forced on us.)
You could of course build a deck around Painter's Servant using Old School tech Like CoP:* and creatures with Protection. How such a deck might do vs the Rest of Tier 1/2 decks would remain to be seen.
Lantern, I remember you saying a while back that Geist of Saint Traft was originally supposed to be GW1but got changed. I think we need a card with that casting cost that is an upgraded Silhana Ledgewalker but with 3/1 Power/Toughness( ie has Hexproof and can only be blocked by creatures with flying). Of course Bogles would also get a very nice top ender.
anyone see the new expedite. 1 R, creature gains hasted and you draw a card. 1 or 2 of. I really like it
@steven11788: It's not that bad except that there is a strictly better card that is one less CMC; Crimson Wisps. Obviously you would play that instead if you were going to use it.
Thanks Polymorph, the thing is I already run 1 MB GQ, 2 Qasali Pridemage and after side boarding 3 Blood Moon, 3 Stony Silence and 2 Thalia. However, I really need to have both Silence and Moon to win. And even with that I also need a clock as they just drop lands until they can play Wurmcoil. Aggro-zoo can be too fast for Tron, but with CoCo zoo I manage to bring them down to 4 and then Ugin takes over. After an Ugin it's just game. Maybe a 1-off Crumble?
Beast Within is a good all purpose answer if you can handle giving them a 3/3 creature.
I'm still struggling with my sideboard. If anyone would be so kind as to share their sideboard and the justifications/relevant matchups for each card, that would be super helpful for me.
Anyone some tips for beating Tron with Naya Company?
Went a dissappointing 3-3 at a small GPT Bologna with Naya Company. Lost twice against Tron (in total 4 Tron players of the 44) and once against Affinity. Won against Abzan Coco R2 (double pyroclasm FTW), UW equipment R4 (Thalia and Voice FTW) and UWR control R5 (Elspeth and Wildwood FTW). I think I could have won R6 against Affinity. Kept a hand on the draw with 2 bolt, 1 pridemage, path and a pyroclasm and got crushed by a T1 champion followed up by a ravager.
Anyway, Tron. Think my overall win percentage is around 2-3% with one major win at Grand Prix Copenhagen to secure day 2. I can only win if I have T2 silence into T3 Moon. Just a silence doesn't seem to do anything and just a Moon is just worse for us. All the other times I just beat them down to 3 to 10 life and then they take control. How is this match up for you and any tips on sideboarding? Actually thinking about moving to Fish in case I expect a large portion of Tron (and Burn).
My list is similar to what Alex plays at the SCG only my sideboard is the following
3 Stony Silence
2 Thalia
2 Unflinching Courage
1 Worship
3 Pyroclasm
1 Choke
1 Sigarda
2 Blood Moon
My 60th card was Dromoka's Command, but I'm trying Birds of Paradise in its place. This should help me reliably stick Blood Moon early, cast my spells through Blood Moon and Thalia, and cast my spells even when I'm down a land because I used Ghost Quarter (yes, I have GQ in the main as a Knight target. Primarily for Tron, though hitting manlands is always always relevant) to set them back. I'll let you know how it goes.
OH the salt. I just wrote like a 12 paragraph summery of tonite, and for some reason it did not load. So aside from that I wen 1-3 tonite and every game i straight up got flooded. NO joke, i was almost in tears after drawing 5 straight in row. Every game there was 1 point were i drew 3 + lands in a row. I felt like crap.
I'm sure you have a Kessig Wolf Run in your maindeck, which is always a great mana sink. Have you considered trying a manland as well? Great way to make use of extra mana. If you pick Raging Ravine and get FLOODED, you can even do the double activation trick!
Rogue's Passage is also an option to push your knight through if you are using the combo.
