Just watched your match against affinity. I appreciate the insight into the world of MTGO, especially since I'm contemplating stepping into the MTGO arena meself.
BigEyes, your videos are equally dope, and enlightening. I've only seen the Tech video thus far, but look forward to seeing more of them when I've time.
I wish to be even slightly competitive in Modern, and my partner owned the "Rot From Within" New Phyrexia event deck. I used that, as well as additional cards from various boosters and trades I've made to construct a MonoGreen Infect deck, as similar to the Primer. I've posted it here, and would appreciate helpful critique.
One thing to keep in mind is that I've also ordered a number of cards from the primer, via "The Amazon". Once they arrive, I'll update accordingly. The cards that I'm waiting on are as follows:
Alright, tonight I'm attending a paid, FNM tourney, where I'm hoping to at least place. It's four rounds, and prizes are awarded for every 2nd, 3rd and 4th win.
I've updated the OP to reflect my current build, which I've added a pair of thoughtseize and a trio of Hero's Downfalls to.
I've also got some quick creatures in the SB, in case I run into any aggressive builds, which my slow, but methodical game plan can't cover.
Wish me luck, and let me know how the current build staXXX up.
This is a monogreen infect deck I inherited from my partner. I wished to go through it, to hopefully make it a tad bit more competitive. So far, this is what I have:
Creatures: 14 I realize that this is a fairly low creature count, however if I can get a couple of creatures on the board, I can swing for lethal damage while surviving life loss. As such, I'm hoping to make this work, at least for now.
[mc]1[/mc] Glistener Elf X 4 Young Wolf X 1 I realize a creature which deals no damage in the form of poison counters is literally worthless in this deck, however the reason I've included the wolf is because of his ridiculously cheap casting cost, and to abuse him twice as a chump blocker, while I set up my win cons.
[mc]2[/mc] Blight Mamba X 1 Ichorclaw Myr X 2 Overgrown Battlement X 4
[mc]5[/mc] Putrefax X 2
Reworked the entire deck to add cheaper pump/buff/protection and reduced the number of creatures down to a dangerously low 14 creature count. However, I am also counting on receiving an additional 3 Inkmoth Nexus(es?). As such, that should increase the creature count by some. Also adding in exalted, via Noble Heirarchs and Cathedrals of wars, and a pair of Pendelhavens to smack the competition. My ultimate aim is to imitate the BG infect Budget build in the Infect Primer, but I'm hoping this deck as is won't get completely wrecked constantly until the alternate cards arrive.

Thanks, Steve. Yeah, I'm also not looking forward to when this deck gets rotated out. I've been researching on the proven decks in modern, trying to see which would be the cheapest to build for modern contention, and so far it's merfolk. So I'll just live with this deck, during its life cycle, then move on to merfolk modern, I suppose.
Gracias amigo. I concur, it did serve my purposes in my previously noted matches, however I've found (playing casually) since then, that mulliganing to it may not always prove to be as fruitful.
So, while wait patiently for the new cards to arrive, from the retailer I ordered them from, I took this build out for some paid competition.
I've found that the Gray Merchant of Asphodel is an absolute monster. I went 3 [wins] - 1 [loss]. 2 of my three wins came courtesy of the Gray Merchant. My opponents rested on their laurels, due to possessing a buffer of at least ten life, while I had nine or lower. But dropping the Merchant definitely hurts a ton more than they would expect, especially with the added life gain (for me)/ loss (for them) when combined with the devotion from the Whip of Erebos and Underworld Connections.
The Merchant is absolutely superb, and I'm quite fond of him as a bomb.
I've also found that Thoughtseizes are absolutely imperative. I lucked into/ aggressively mulliganed into them in all of my winning matches, and they were truly impactful, ridding me of opposing Planeswalkers, or Gods.
All in all, I'm quite enamored by this MBD mechanic/ build.
