Anyone complaining about the pricing of this is just insane. Go to your stores local drafts for a week or two and pull all the basic lands you need there, THEN KEEP THEM. Don't use them for proxies, and you'll be just fine.
People doing this is the problem. Don't do that. Give your lands back.
These decks should come with some deck registration sheets already filled in. That would make the decks even more "grab-and-go" and would further spread the message that this decks can, in fact, be used as is.
I've heard a story about someone who actually submitted the precon insert with the decklist as his list.
My local store's website still has them listed as in print, which makes sense, as demand shouldn't cause a product to go out of print early - maybe out of stock, yes (as was seen with M10/ZEN), but not out of print. If anything, demand would make the print run longer.
The recent rules update features the addition of a new feature to Magic: emblems.
Emblems go in the command zone and have a controller and an ability. That's about it.
The big question this raises is whether they are introducing this so that they can replace "poison counter" with "poison emblem" in SoM, which would make sense since poison counters have always been weird. At the same time, they could not do that if they aren't bringing poison back.
As I understand it, the reason behind this is because people were effectively getting around the rules. Wizards always intended to limit a store to two prereleases, one each day, except that the system didn't account for the fact that multiple TOs could sanction at a single location.
The recent update to the Comprehensive Rules adds 'Karsus' to the list of planar types. This is expected to be the last promo plane of the original 5 printed; it is not known if there will be more, but it seems likely unless they issue a new edition of Planechase given the imminent release of Archenemy.
This is a horrible, horrible move, and I hope that WotC sees the idiocy and reverses it.
This does a number of things, from assuring the eventual descent of Legacy into a "club format" like Vintage is now, to assuring both formats eventually losing their access to old cards due to diminishing supply, to making customers everywhere lose their faith in WotC's ability to make rational decisions. What a terrible idea.
This is not a myth. Recent foils (WWK and Alara block packs for sure) have had more of the card frame foiled, rather than just highlights. Look at foil white cards, for instance; you can see a distinct pattern of foiling in the text box quite easily on the old foils, but the new foils have the entire text box foiled.
I like these new foils; they're very pretty, and the highlights in the art seem to stand out more.
It's good to see Block Constructed come back, and the qualifier formats are in a holding pattern.
And yes, there is both a Pro Tour and a Grand Prix in Paris on the same weekend. Wizards has gone crazy.

Who knows.
