So are you saying that I should run creature control instead of counterspells? That's all well and good against aggro, but I don't know about control decks. As for Circu, that's a pretty good idea and he only costs one more than Entrancer. Telling Time is great. But what kind of removal should I put in? Man, I'm so confused. HELP!!!!! INFORMATION OVERLOAD!!!!!! Please give me a better deck list around my current one.

Thanks for informing me of all the cards that could screw over mill decks. I never thought of putting in Twincast, but I dunno, that card costs a lot of money. I'm making my deck a lot like a monoblue control deck with black in for Glimpse. Here it is so far:



How much of those cards my sideboard should be, I don't know.

It's going to lose a bit with Condescend dropping out (I'll miss it so much), but hey, Perplex ain't too shabby. It's a Mind Twist, Counterspell, or a cycle. The big problem is that there's a lack of instant speed card drawing. Every single last card drawing spell in this set is a sorcery, one of the creatures with a card drawing ability can be played only as a sorcery, and transmutate can be used only as a sorcery. I knew the moment I saw Council of the Soratami that it would replace Inspiration in 9th Edition, and I was right. About the only one left is Murmurs from Beyond.

I don't care if mill is garbage, SRdude (yup, I've made the move here!), Glimpse the Unthinkable is too cool to pass up. With counterspells and Dimir Cutpurse to back it up, and Meloku as an alternate win condition, it could win some games. It'll be like monoblue control except with mill cards. I'm making a deck around it.

What do you people think of about the potential for mill decks in the upcoming Type 2 rotation? I think it has great potential with cards like Vedalken Entrancer and Glimpse the Unthinkable. Here's my deck that combines monoblue control with some black for the Glimpse:

3 Millstone
2 Vedalken Entrancer
1 Psychic Drain
4 Boomerang
2 Distress
4 Mana Leak
4 Perplex
3 Dimir Cutpurse
2 Meloku the Clouded Mirror (alternate win condition)
3 Sensei's Divining Top
2 Murmurs from Beyond (I HATE sorcery-speed card drawing, and this is the only half-decent instant out there)
2 Consult the Necrosages (the exception here, since it gives me a choice)
10 Island
8 Swamp
4 Watery Grave
2 Duskmantle, House of Shadow

The sideboard will have stuff like Cranial Extraction and Persecute. Tell me what you think, and discuss the status of mill decks in this new format. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Does anybody else think that mill decks will be a force once Ravnica comes around? I already have a nice deck planned out, based around monoblue control with black planted in for Glimpse the Unthinkable:
