If you can pass turn and have cards in your library, then I have three mountains, cast mana manamorphose for GG, channel, flaming gamit, flash it back next turn for 2 after drawing and playing a land (since it needs to be over 20). The thing is if you can pass the turn and draw a card then there are quite a few answers.

Phyrexia and David Lee Roth, don't know what connection you're looking for though. I fail, I know.

Can someone explain the special rules for then next round a little more clearly please? Do both players have a card start on top or just the person on the play and what happens if what is 'best' for one player depends on which card of their own is put on top which does the stacking favor (active player perhaps?)? Thanks.

The enchantment just means flashfreeze needs to be 4x in all the sideboards. It's not that hard to get around with tons of counters and 4 cryptics if it hits.

Oona's Prowler is absurd. Seeing as it's a black aggro card, it's assumed it will be followed with thoughtseize and possibly stupor making it a constant 3 powered evasive two drop. It is a monster that also happens to let you get the Haakon engine online.

Chandra costs a billion and doesn't effect the board.

Gaddock Teeg is NOT. THAT. GOOD. Stop talking about him like he's format defining. All the control decks have lots of answers. Take your basic teachings deck: 2 slaughter pact, 1 eyeblights ending, 3-4 shriekmaw, then pickles decks have Remove Soul and bounce creatures. It's all irrelevent against aggro so a card that's quasi-effective in half the matchups that's awful in the rest, and commits you to a weak color combination is not going to be the new hot thing.

Jace is a MONSTER, single-handedly winning control mirrors. What are they going to do to stop it? Nothing fast enough, that's what. Jace hits, draws 2 cards, then both draw and draws 2 more. It's a card advantage machine and should be a 3-4 of in every blue sideboard.

Other than that, a decent if unimpressive review article.

Chapin says in his article that every control deck needs to deal with Gaddock Teeg, yet his deck has an awesome 4 way to deal with him. Rolleyes

I'd much rather play Terror instead of a Shriekmaw or 2, simply because of that issue...

??? I count 7, not to mention Goyfs who beat it up in combat and Teferi who can ambush it.

4 Command is absolutely right. The card is absurd against every deck in the format, and teachings-able. Far better than remove soul. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know how teachings is played. Everything you do is a 2-for-1, and you have an ultimate attrition machine of a teachings chain followed by recurring trike or an active factory.

Playing this deck, you have a strong game plan against any strategy and obliterate anything underpowered.

Overloading countermagic is not the way to play this deck either. If you want to do that, play pickles. This deck needs the removal base to survive. Drawing remove soul is embarrassing. Drawing shriekmaw is savage. Against the other teachings based decks, Innovator control can drop an early goyf and gain obscene tempo that way since the opponent always needs to invest an absurd amount of resources into killing it or you'll just kill them with it.

Yeah that argumentw as horrible. The only reason most T1 players don't do well in PTQs is because they don't concentrate on other formats besides eternal, so of course they're not going to do well on a format they don't play. Same for PTQers that go to T1 tournies.

It's OBV not Flores, but it's not Owen either. He's funnier than that, and he specifically said it wasn't him.

Either way, Keegan's terrible, so is Flores, and rag on T1 all you want, neither of those two could win anything in it.

One of my barns, Julien Levin, Q'ed at a MSS with Zoo. I'd definetly say it's one of the best decks pre rotation of 9th.

PS. Ben Swarts is a scrub, as well as Keegan and Purn. All of you are pretty lucky to have Owen around.:D

Keegan is complete *******, and Ben thinks he`s better than he is. Purn`s terrible and old, but then again, Flores, you`re all of those things too. Go continue being the John Madden of Magic and embarrassing yourself trying to innovate. You`re only accomplishment is Who`s the Beatdown, and the answer is Known Stars. Top8Magic? More like watching Top 8 Magic.

While I`m at it, Brett Blackman`s a joke. We just saw him at this resturaunt in Montreal`s China Town and he ran away from us. DI Fear.

See you scrubs at MSS. I`ll be the barn spanking losers with Owen.

I few things people should know:

-I suck at Magic: the Gathering.

-Max Tietze is not on my team so please don't bag on him when the real fun is bagging on us.

-Ben Swartz beat me on day one, I fail to see how that was the thing that knocked me out of top eight contention. In that case, you could consider any one of my losses to be the thing that knocked me out of top eight contention when really, it was actually the back to back losses to Arthur Stuart and teammate Trent Turnbull that made me miss top eight.

-I have no ill will towards anybody on Known Stars. I think that Owen is a great player. Personally, I think that this team rivalry is pretty funny and enjoyable as long as it stays about fun and pride and not about giving me a bullet in the head on the way to the event. Gives both sides some extra incentive.

-Don't knock the Known Stars due to their name. They only have that name so that they can be easily identifiable rivals to us. They can certainly bring some Magic, so don't underestimate them.

-Likewise, I'll do the best that I can (but to be fair, see point one) and so will my teammates. We can certainly bring some Magic too.

Hopefully that clears some things up.

Agreed on all accounts. I just thought it was funny that dude was name dropping out the wazoo even though Owen's gonna smash'm all.
