charlesching posted a message on [Deck] GoblinsHi, i am testing meteor golem in the sideboard for the show and tell match up. What is your opinion?Posted in: Midrange

charlesching posted a message on [Primer] RG Ponza / Modern Land DestructionTrinisphere and emperium don't mix well. You can only choose one or the other. Emperium is a fast clock which if storm is unable to combo effectively in 2-3 turn, we win. Compared to the mid range approach, emperium still seems better as we land D their land with a threat clocking them. Emperium is not a sure win card, but it does make you harder to die.Posted in: Midrange

charlesching posted a message on [Primer] RG Ponza / Modern Land DestructionNope. The combo is actually quite good against many which we have bad match up in the past like burn or even death shadow. With platinum emperium around, they can't win till they get a removal. Just sent them the colour they need bonfire will usually win the game if it is not safe for emperium to attack.i run 1 primal command to ensure my madcap stay relevant if they kill the emperium. Hard casting is not that difficult is you ramp enough. Turn 2 emperium via madcap is often possible. Did it a few time myself. Against storm, emperium is good coz they need a high storm count to win. 8 to kill emperium and another don't know how many to kill us. Same for ad nauseam. They need a slaughter pact before they can win. While emperium offers a fast clock. Post board, you could side out the combo to bring in other creatures to nullify their sideboard cards. I think it is versatile enough. The only thing is you have to try to kill fast before they drew answer and not get into a state of complacency.Posted in: Midrange

charlesching posted a message on [Primer] RG Ponza / Modern Land DestructionTested GDD before, it is better in skred red shell than this version. Currently on madcap combo train. It is quite good. Might consider putting trinisphere in SB against with all the argument to test it further. My opinion might be wrong.Posted in: Midrange

charlesching posted a message on [Primer] RG Ponza / Modern Land DestructionTrinisphere might be a win more card. You use blood moon to lock down non basic but if they have more mana, it is useless.Trinisphere might lock you as well.Posted in: Midrange

charlesching posted a message on [Primer] AffinityYou should be a good match up game 1 but poor game 2 and 3 coz I play both affinity and ponza. You need etched champion and thoughtseize or spell pierce to be board in. The pierce and thoughtseize are for sweeper. Aside from that, just go faster. As a ponza player, I will board out my land destruction spells and board in sweeper and removal. Based on this knowledge, board accordingly. Welding jar is good in this match up.Posted in: Aggro & Tempo

charlesching posted a message on [Primer] RG Ponza / Modern Land DestructionThe main reason I like chandra is aside from card advantage, she is a ramp. While nissa does create threat and potentially ramp 1-2 mana, her slot is competing other cards like stormbreath Dragon.Posted in: Midrange

charlesching posted a message on [Primer] RG Ponza / Modern Land DestructionTried nissa, vital force, seems lacklustre. Chandra, torch of defiance is very good.Posted in: Midrange

charlesching posted a message on Daretti, Scrap Savant - Artifact ShenanigansYou can't recur with pia revolution via +2, -2 can, but why would you want that if you can animate it from graveyard?Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists

charlesching posted a message on Skred RedIn the past, we run 23 land minimum due to our curve topped at 5. Recently they reduce to 22 as they reduce the curve to 4. It depends on your curve.Posted in: Control

charlesching posted a message on Skred RedYou can put it main or side, depending on meta, preference and threat count.Posted in: Control

charlesching posted a message on Skred RedStormbreath dragon are not particularly good in certain match up like blue control deck or terminate heavy deck. Stormbreath are good against abzan style of deck. As of scrying sheet, it is a way of drawing more cards. I believe his rationale is before blood moon, the more copies I have the chances of drawing it increase. Post blood moon, it doesn't matter anyway. Since adonis2k list do not run boros reckoner, it does make sense as for is going for a value route rather than just pure lockdown. I believe this is how he adjust the quantity of cards in his deck. His version depends more on koth ultimate with p&k tanking aggro strategy.Posted in: Control
