published the article I played a seal tournament, went 2-1 and got 3 packs. Played GB splashing 2 plains for 1 safe passage and 1 devine verdict. Don't have full deck list, wasn't that spectacular anyway. Did have garruk, though, and I used his 3rd ability once to win the game!Posted in: M2010 Pre-Release Draft
Did a 9 person draft after sealed. Played this deck
I ran less creatures than I would have liked and a couple cards I wouldn't normally main deck but the girl to my right must have changed 1 of her colors at some point because she went UW also and cut me off in pack 3.
I was 1 of 2 people to go 3-0 and took 1st place from tie breakers. 8 packs payout.
I swore I wouldn't draft UW in the beginning of M10 because I knew a lot of people would, but I opened Captain and was passed 2 snapping drakes in pack 1. -

published the article We had 5 players in draft today, but store was out of Shards and Conflux packs so we threw 15 packs into a box, mostly Alara Reborn, but some eventide and some Lorwyn packs. Crazy draft. I pulled 3 Alara Reborn packs and we opened oldest pack first. I opened a Sen Triplets and knew what colors I was going to play.Posted in: Sunday afternoon IRL draft RANDOM PACKS!!
DECK:
Sen Triplets and Mirror-Sigil Sergeant are insane. I won 2 games off mirror-sigil and 1 off Triplets.
The only game I lost in the tournament was to double Sewn-Eye Drake. I couldn't block them and that was GG. However, games 2 and 3 I used Zealous Persecution for the alpha strike.
Had minor mana troubles in a couple games where I was slow getting into my 3rd color, but I managed to win these anyway.
Took 1st place and walked away with 5 Alara Reborn packs.
Random packs is insane. Taking next week off to wait for M2010 Pre-Release. -

Round 1
Opponent in Naya
Game 1 I go down to 1 life but opponent makes mistakes and I win.
Game 2 Opponent plays Meglonoth and soul's might on it 2 times making it a 24/24. Then he attacks me and I have pestilent kathari out with 3 mana untapped. I kill meglonoth without taking any damage. Opponent is surprised.
I win round 1.
Round 2
Opponent is in naya again. I'll never draft naya again.
Game 1 I win with flyers. Opponent concedes when he's over 10 life.
Game 2 I mulligan to 5 but win anyway with double kathari's in play.
Round 3
Opponent is Bant with black splash.
Game 1 I win with 18 life. Flyers and most of my removal make it easy.
Game 2 I make the mistake of keeping a hand with 3 mountains and no swamps. I never see a swamp and lose without playing a single spell.
Game 3 I get mana flooded. I draw 7 lands and 4 spells entire game.
NOTES: This is the 1st draft I've made it past round 1 in about 6 drafts. I've sold almost my entire collection playing but it doesn't matter because I don't play constructed anyway. I have a draft set out of it so it's alright!
In the follow up draft with the prize packs, I lost 1st round to a pretty bad player who dropped blood tyrant in 1 game then dropped inkwell leviathan in the next. I was in UWb and couldn't ever get the last few points of damage through. -

published the article Clicky for the Picture!Posted in: Mirrodin block NIX TIX 1
Drafted a mono white Mirrodin block deck in the nix tix 4322 MTGO queue.
Had pristine angel and beacon of immortality. Those wreck in draft. Also, Slith ascendant + whispersilk cloak = awesome.
Odd notes: ran 16 lands then sided down to 15. 15 is a very low number of lands for me, but it worked because my curve is so low. My wins came from leonin creatures with equip boosts.
Won the draft. -

published the article I drafted grixis with 2 agony warp, 1 dark temper, 1 magma spray and 1 volcanic fallout. Lots of efficient creatures. Lost game 1 to NAya opponent drawing tons of removal. Game 2 mulligan to 4 and lose to mana screw (never happens online).Posted in: Double draft rubbish today
Second draft, I go Naya with branching bolt, 1 magma spray, 1 fiery fall. Lots of 5 toughtness creatures including wolly thoctar. Round 1 against grixis (oh, the irony) Game 1 racing the whole game but he edges me out with a flier and pro-green guy. Game 2, I *gasp* mulligan to 4 and keep 2 plains, elvish visionary, and becon behemoth. I draw into a forest but it takes too long to draw a mountain.
Interesting notes: 1 or no land hands in game 2 of both matches to mulligan down to 4.
Never drew any removal. Branching bolt would have easily turned game 2 in second draft. Both opponents drew tons of removal and only 1 played any mana fixer (a panarama and absorb vis to cycle for 4th splash color) This blows my mind that I was mana screwed in 2 of 4 games while opponent makes 3 color without any fixing. MTGO only ever caters to complete blowouts. So-called even matches never seem to happen. Sucks.
