Not enough people out there playing skred to be worried about it. If you do end up playing vs. it your best bet is to hope your opponent gets sick and has to leave mid match.

Is there some universe where we could play 2 Gate to the Afterlife and 1 God-Pharaoh's Gift in the sideboard to just really cheese people?

I'm impressed by how long the single wayfinder and revoker has stayed in lists people are posting here.

I am fairly inexperienced with this archetype in modern and was wondering; what makes Thraben Inspector good in this list? I get that it provides card advantage and combos with flickerwisp, but a 1/2 body seems kind of useless; you're basically paying 3 mana for a chumpblock and cantrip. Dryad Millitant or Judge's Familiar seem much better in that slot from my (inexperienced) point of view.

    Thanks for any insight!

Militant and familiar are decent choices if you don't like the inspector. Inspector helps the deck pull out of topdeck wars when games go long which this deck can have a problem with, where as militant and familiar are good early game and worse late game.

Also: I played this deck in the early days of Modern, and looking at picking it up again. When did Aven Mindcensor go from a 3/4 of requirement to not even having a spot in the board on some lists?

I think it was pretty soon after the first year of tournaments. Right around when everyone stopped playing 3 Linvallas main deck.

The other question is what is your favorite plains to put in the Mono white dnt?

Plains 231 from M13 or the dragon's maze prerelease plains.

Answer to the first question is yes.

Bring in forge tenders for games 2 and 3, they block most of their stuff, can be put into the graveyard whenever you want and stop random anger of the gods that people may be running for one reason or another. Best thing you can do vs. living end is play a turn 2 Thalia into turn 3 blade splicer.

I'd say if you are going to play blade splicer play resto, if you are playing voice of resurgence and/or smiter play coco.

I don't get why multiple people have been talking about the most recent deck lists as if its something different than the norm. If you go back and look through the old primers this deck is 90% the same as what was being played back then. Swap Aven Mindcensor/Kitchen Finks for Mirrin Crusader and boom same deck. You have to go way back to when people were playing student of warfare and 3x Linvalla maindeck to consider it different.

Edit: Have you ever tilted so hard that you thoughtsiezed an opponent's wilt leaf after they mulled to 5?

While it's not on the same power level as Finks by any means, it may be a worthy creature-based option for those who refuse to blaspheme by including Ouphes or Kor in a Human tribal deck!

Sunscourge Champion has eternalize, confirmed worthy.

Not getting swept vs. affinity is probably variance, you definitely need a good sideboard plan to consistently beat the deck.

For 2-mana I'd prefer Selfless Spirit or even Smuggler's Copter to Harsh Mentor (which works like Tunnel Ignus most of the time).

I've played enough games with both of those red cards and can tell you that they are not similar.

@LtGLitter What matchups have you found the harsh mentors to be good in?

Its very good against Affinity, the new infinite mana company deck, lantern, surprisingly merfolk, the WB D&T mirror match and a few others. Its still very good at getting random pings off of fetch lands or creatures like izzet staticaster, end bringer and balista.

@LtGlitter: How many tec edge is your R/W deck playing?

4 ghost quarter 4 tec edge. If I had arid mesa online I'd probably take out the two battle field forge and only play 3 plains for 4 mesa, but this mana base has been working fine.

The Red isn't worth it imho, Magus of the Moon doesn't really makes sense if you are playing a deck with GQ+PtE and Harsh Mentor is a very mediocre card.

Harsh mentor may be mediocre but what am I missing out on, weathered wayfarer and a revoker? Seems like a fair trade for me.

As for magus + basic lands, most decks aren't playing tons of basic lands. When your death shadow opponent fetches a turn 1 or two swamp to avoid getting blood mooned that's a good game for you.
Play magus vs. E-tron and they suddenly cast any of their creatures.
P&K gives you better grinding power than anything else similar in white.
I think you are too quick to dismiss the red magics.
