Where is a good place to buy foreign cards? I know that cards get printed in a bunch of languages but I cant seem to find them. Specifically Im looking for Italian Call the Skybreaker. Anybody think they can help me?
The problem with Static orb is that it makes tangle wire alot trickier to play if i dont have a relic barrier. At this point I really dont want to drop tangle wire.
Relic orb is a mono blue prison deck that attempts to achieve a lockdown by taking advantage of an assymetrical winter orb. Cards such as tangle wire, propaganda, tabernacle and port are devastating under a winter orb. The deck became much weaker when krosan grip was printed. I have added the counter top combo to the deck. While these cards are good on their own, they also become primary targets for an enemy's grip. Academy ruins is really good here, it can bring back pieces that got destroyed and chain tangle wires. It also can occasionally do stupid things with counterbalance.
Morphling as a win condition. I've tried many different things here. It doesn't matter too much how you win once you have an opponent locked down.
Ponder is my only draw/shuffle effect. I want to run impulse, but I think it costs 1 too many.
Maze of ith has been pretty spectacular.
The deck has some issues with things like loam and crucible. These decks will use their engines to not miss land drops and recur wasteland. Since my nonbasics are so vital to my gameplan this can be devastating. Mana creatures are generally bad.
Its important to note that my meta is (usually) filled to the gills with storm combo. Unmask and Nyxathid are better than innocent against storm combo. Nyxathid also comes in for tombstalker if they bring in Leyline. I probably won't face elves on saturday, and really I should be ok with e plague. He just got a bomb ass hand game 2.
Undiscovered paradise is a really neat trick!
Can nether spirit and tombstalker play nice without maindeck spinning darkness?
I played this deck at a free tournament today. I didn't do bad, I got rocked by elf combo but I beat GBW rock. I don't think I am going to change anything for the duel for duals next week. 61 cards is kind of meh but I dont think I will cut anything.
I think not running either duress or thoughtseize is a grave mistake. A major reason to run this deck is its ability to beat up on storm combo. Taking out these cards really cripples its ability to do that.
This deck is a winter orb lockdown type deck that is an evoloution of Relic Orb. A problem with relic orb was that while it could survive without a relic barrier, it really didn't like to, and it couldn't win without relic barrier. Another problem was the deck's vulnerability to wasteland and moon effects, preventing the deck from getting a total lockdown.
Rather than getting a total hard lockdown, GigaOrb aims to lock the opponent just enough so that Iron Maiden can take care of them.
This list is still kind of rough, so I'm looking for any constructive advice I can get.
The Lands:
13 Islands seems to be enough since I'm not running anything with double blue. Academy ruins is good even if they are running wasteland, since you will get to activate it once before it gets wasted. Its bonkers if they aren't running wasteland, recurring tangle wires is pretty nightmarish. Blinkmoth Well taps my own winter orb, if I want to completely untap. Rishadan port is good on it's own but insane under the orb.
11 Counters. I'm running 3 daze because it's (generally) bad to get more than one in your opening hand. You have to counter aether vial and deed. Usually you want to hold your counters to force your own stuff through. Or not depending on the matchup. Things like tarmogoyf aren't auto counters.
Winter Orb
Gigadrowse: Pretty insane. You can tap a whole bunch of their lands, tap a dreadnought, tap your own orb.
Tangle wire: Can buy you some time pre orb, usually a game winner post orb.
Propaganda: Basically they can't attack if you have orb in play. Buys you time early.
Iron Maiden: Win condition.
Impulse: Digs 4 cards, looking for an orb or something else
Serum visions: Pretty solid, not too sure about it. It's not brainstorm because I have zero shuffling effects.
Sphere of resistance: Comes in against burn, combo.
Totem: Mana creatures are bad news.
Echoing truth: Various uses
Arcane lab: Combo can't win with it in play. very synergenic with Iron Maiden.
I kind of want to get some artifact mana in here, but most artifact mana sucks.
This is a mws log technically, but i didnt think it belonged in any of the forums that dealt with magic.

^I would take a look at that deck. Deck called dragonforce that used Natural Order to get big guys into play.
I don't think its that good. a 1/1 for 1B is usually too small to matter, and the discard isn't particularly powerful. Plus it hits you.
Going back to Nyxathid, I really like tombstalker because it is basically immune to counterbalance. Nyxathid? Not so much.
