woah, we are at one to lynch?! I thought it would drop to 2... Well, that sucks alot. Right now I would agree that the unconfirmed townies is where the final mafia is... So that means....
    HKKID
    Archy
    Wamyc
    SorryGuy

    Did I miss anyone?

Of those, I actually like SorryGuy's explanation of his flavor (as that has been important/relevant for just about everyone else), so I'm not leaning toward him right now. Have any of the remaining three flavor claimed yet? If not I am highly for this course of action, and quickly... (I really thought it was going to drop to 2. It went from 7 to 6 alive, yes? shouldn't that be the same number of lynches?)

Ok, Wamyc (I have yet to type that right the first time... I am alway typing in wymac for some reason) is in favor of the cubus dayviging. Currently we only need 3 votes to lynch someone, so I would feel better about using this if at least that many people other than myself agreed on the target. Right now Cubus has 2 votes and will die to the deadline change. If no one else chimes in on this before about 9 tonight, I'll vig him right then.

Wamyc also brings up a good point (and one that only strengthens my desire for everyone to flavor claim as well) in that Sorryguy's claim seems to invalidate what Loran said earlier.

    6 (!) vanillas is a bit much.

I think the correct play here might be to have H'Roth go ahead and vig Cubus.

If this is who you guys want me to use my vig on, let me know. That was going to be my choice after he claimed, but again, I'm not using my kill without proper direction from the majority.

    Quote from Cubus »
Well.. I'm not completely sure why Pod said that, but what he claimed was that his/my role was unique to this game. A one-shot vig is indeed unique to this game. I've never seen a game with two one-shot nightvigs, at least.

A one-shot vig is not unique, and I'm fairly certain Pod knows this. And what do you mean 2 nightvigs?

    HKKID

    SorryGuy
    cubus
    Archy
    wamyc

then I will claim, and H'Roth can reclaim if he wishes.

I don't have a problem with this plan at all, though I don't understand asking me to reclaim...

Seeing as it seems to have been important in some of the other roles, would those that are claiming please include the flavor as to why the mod they have is what it supposedly is, please?

Also, if we are going in the agreed upon order, why didn't SorryGuy claim after HKKid, and not Cubus?

Double also, we have 2 vigs? I see that as highly unlikely in a game of this size.

Heh, it's hard to read you when you've only made two posts, and they're placeholder posts. When you say "Townie", do you mean part of the Town, or are you trying to say you're a vanilla townie?

And just why should that be clarified any further. Archy is far from under any serious suspicion from the majority of the town. There is no reason at all for you to be fishing for more info. Right now it looks like we decided to not mass role claim, HC, so knock it the crap off. You have no need to learn what type of role Archy has. If you are a miller then this is info that doesn't help you at all. He says that he is town, getting him to say if he is power or not won't make the claim of "townie" any more convincing.

    @Archy - don't respond to HC fishing.

Oh my God, that actually sounds really damn awesome. Sounds like a neat sort of "Wild Arms" setting. That would be really interesting, I think.

I'll have to look into it. I mean, God knows I can't really afford to squeeze ANOTHER game into my roster now, but God if I don't love inventive settings.

Incidentally, speaking of strange d20 system games, they have a game called Testament, which is a d20 game meant to emulate Biblical era fiction. It is basically a literal Judeo-Christian game, which I thought could be an interesting read.

Yes, I was enjoying the interaction. I'm glad that some people are getting fairly involved with the RP, and I'm hoping it encourages others to do so. I felt the encounter with the sisters was fairly tame, myself, but it will get worse. Running into them is never supposed to be a comfortable experience.

Another strange D20 game that I found and my group just loves is called "The End." It is a Judeo-Christian post-apocalyptic rpg. The premise is that the line in the Bible, "the meek shall inherit the Earth" was not a promise, but a warning. All those that didn't choose a side, be it good or evil, were left on Earth after the rapture. Those that were worthy went to heaven, those that were truly sinful went to hell, and the rest were stuck on Earth with no chance for an after life. There is only one class in the game, the meek, but after a few levels there are prestige classes that you can level into. The game I ran I had all of my friends make themselves, which was a blast to play in. I also found that when playing yourself, lots of annoying meta-gaming problems seem to fix themselves (I know this, but my character shouldn't/doesn't). Anywho, if you can find it anywhere, it is a fun game.

Huh? You didn't share the flavor earlier because you didn't know anything about Lesurgo? But you said that the PM explained the whole thing. This is a clear contradiction, and very close to each other. (one sentence later)

this is not a contradiction. I don't know Lesurgo at all, so the flavor didn't mean a thing to me. I didn't even think that the flavor was important, just humorous. the PM telling me the flavor of my mechanic doesn't mean that I actually know anything about Lesurgo. I had no way of knowing whether or not this was just something for the game, or if he really is against cussing. I really just thought that it was a cute way to make me a one shot vig.

Metagaming is alright, but when someone does things that are scummy, I don't see how previous games could be an excuse for it.

What is being asked for here is not, as I understand it, an excusing of scummy behavior, but a different standard for scumminess [given the way HC normally plays.] But haven't we established that HC isn't really playing the way he usually does? All of the descriptions of HC as blunt and driving don't really apply to anything he's done except for his breadcrumbing.

So I'm not sure how we can apply this different scumstandard to HC given that he's never played miller before and that's what he's claiming. (and IMO, he's not acting like the descriptions of his normal playstyle)

Loran and I have a totally different opinion of HC's normal playstyle. He doesn't think that HC is scummy in general, I do. I don't think he is normally driving and blunt, just scummy. He often comes up with plans and ideas that no one but him can see any town benefit to. He will then defend these plans until he gets mislynched. I still think he is scummy, I don't think I've ever said I didn't, but I also think that his claim is believable. I'm not saying that I think he is cleared, but I think he is probably just playing a scummy town.

@HKKid Yeah, it pretty much is the flavor. I think I mentioned that if not for that I don't think that I would think otherwise at all. He is still rather scummy, but as I've said before, he always looks that way. He is the most consistently scummy town player I've ever seen.

Man, I just finished enchanted arms last night, and I got to say that I wasn't very impressed with the ending. There was not nearly enough closure to some of the dangling plot threads for my tastes, but I don't see them ever making a sequel, which would be the only reason that I would have left some of the things open like they did. Meh, all in all I did enjoy the game, though.
    My end stats
Atsuma at level 48 7201 hp
Raigar at level 47 2200 hp
Odin at level 53 2001 hp
Galilea at level 44 2000 hp.

After I upped Atsuma's hp, the last fight was no big deal at all, I didn't come close to losing once...

since you brought up flavor, what is the flavor behind
Lesurgo being the Townie 1-Shot Day Vigilante.

I didn't share the flavor in mine earlier because I don't know anything about Lesurgo so it didn't really mean anything to me, though I do find it amusing. The way that I ban someone involves saying a minor swear word, and my pm says that Lesurgo doesn't swear, but he will make an exception this once as the situation is so bad around here.

You can exchange the chips for cash? I thought I had to spend them on those prizes there, that should make it much easier. I was buying 9 of an item there and then selling the item at the store. I feel kind of silly now... luckily I have a save from before I started all of that, so I can just cash in for money and not waste so many chips. Is Odin really that good? I haven't used him much, but he is in my backup list, so I don't have to do too much leveling for him, he is right with my group.

yeah, I'm nowhere near that level yet, but nothing else has been a challenge in the game. I read online that I should be around lv 60 or so, and that atsuma should have something like 7000 hp. what characters did you use at the end?

Ooof, I didn't see that we had a new thread up, so I haven't even looked in here yet. I have suddenly received a whole lot of extra free time (just broke up with the girlfriend), so I'm going to try to be online and participatory much more than since I joined up.

On the Pirates three topic, I saw it last thursday when it opened and loved it. It wasn't the best movie, but it was fun and despite it's long runtime I didn't ever look at my watch. I'm also going to have to agree with Sha about Spider-Man 3. I loved it quite a bit. It was a great comic book film.

I just played through enchanted arms over the weekend. Has anyone else played this game? It seems like it wants to be a mix of final fantasy and Pokemon, but comes up short on both ends. I'm at the final battle right now, but it seems that I haven't leveled nearly enough to beat the ice queen. She just tears me up every time.

I think that I am going to have to agree with Loran about HC, even though I think he is acting scummy, as I have said before, in just about every game I've ever played with HC, he acts scummy, and generally gets mislynched due to this. His flavor claim is what kind of seals the deal for me, as I find this to be acceptable. This is a very hard decision to make about him as I really don't see any viable alternatives to him, and he is still managing to put out scummy vibes.

    Quote from HC »
Well, hopefully the town will realize that it isn't really scummy, and your scenario won't occur.

You are wrong about this. Lynching someone for purely self-preservational reasons is scummy. If all you are is a miller, that is inherently worse for the town as a whole than a vanilla town. The fact that you are willing to not just sacrifice someone else to save yourself, but to sacrifice someone that you really didn't find scummy is what this issue is about.

@Wamyc - What about Cubus makes him the scummiest of the four you fosed?
