I'd keep Living Death for sure, add Liliana, and then cut the other black card for something else. You are missing the amazing Ophiomancer and also Skinrender. I like them and Liliana more than The Abyss and Ob Nixilis.

Cheers, definitely adding Ophiomancer to my shopping list. Kind of bummed that I traded mine away Frown

    TheAngryhermit,

Can you speak to your experiences with Oath of Druids? I have enjoyed the card in constructed formats for many years, but cube is a different animal.

    Thanks

It's a lot of fun and I nice little tricky build around that's much better if you get it in the first pack than the third.I play and support a lot of fattie cheating strategies (reanimator, channel, sneak and show) so it's definitely viable.

It's also a lot of fun in that it is super powerful but players feel like they earned it.

    Made a few changes.

Have acquired most of the cards I want but still on the wanted list are:
    Flip Jace
    Daze
    Kalitas
    Craterhoof Behemoth
    Chandra Torch of Defiance
    Selfless Spirit
    Hanweir Garrison

Right now i'm pondering wether to make room for a Lilliana, Death's Majesty I acquired and whether The Abyss, Living Death or Ob Nixlis should be the cut.

    Absolutely love this cube.
Two of my favourite things, classic nostalgic cards and cube combined!

    Looks heaps of fun.

Following on Cube Tutor now as I am definitely interested in doing something similar.

Very sad to see Advantageous Proclamation go. I was always super happy with it.

I don't personally have a problem with cutting cards but I can see your point. Last time we played Dani's cube 2 out of 3 of my opponents were playing at least 50 cards! Cube is too much of a candy shop for most people Smile

I had a tough time suppressing the gotta catch em all instinct. My main form of enjoying and playing Magic is draft, but I had multiple Modern Decks, a legacy deck, a cube, EDH decks and even a standard deck built for game day.
I still like to have some of those but recently sold a big chunk of that Modern stuff leaving me with one unccompetitive but favourite deck (Faeries). Haven't regretted it one iota and while everyone loses their mind over bans and eldrazi it feels nice sitting back with my arms behind my head "not my problem".

You have to make Magic work on your terms not Wizards. I was a bit snobby about proxies until I tried them. Now it's not just that they saved me money, it is also more relaxing when other people handle my cards. Which is what happens in the actual part of the game that matters, the playing!
I wouldn't even add the new Wasteland or Force of Will if I open them into my cube over my current proxy versions.

I don't have a Jace flip walker in my cube yet, not stressed. Cube and Magic existed before he did. I will add him eventually but on my terms not in the retail cycle Wizards want you to follow. They get my money every week for retail draft as long as they are doing a good job.

Relax, if the chase isn't fun then don't take part. I am sure your cube is already fun to play with.

I had never put 2 and 2 together until now that Green Black rather than blue black are the reanimator combo colours in your cube.

Good to know (insert evil chuckle).

I think it gives players a little nudge towards making a super friends deck. A very good roleplayer in that deck because it does fix mana (not just the 2nd ability) and helps search for an early play. I don't think the green deck having perfect mana should be taken as a given as it's hard to balance drafting duals and planeswalkers perfectly.

I don't really see it doing enough for other decks to drop a pro active green card though.

So overall a thumbs down but I want to grab a copy for potential expansions/rotations if I need to mix it up in the future.

They were clear that they were using the Magic Online Cube as the basis. Honestly that's the cube most people draft due to it's availability and otherwise it's impossible to talk about another cube without a bunch of if/and/but clauses because most cubes differ in contents from one another.
The Magic online (vintage) cube supports/favours combo (even storm) a lot better than most cubes. With that cube as the base line I agreed with their advice. Though personally I'm happy to draft an aggressive White Deck if I get Armageddon.

Until the latest iteration even the Legacy cube online included a lot of signets which most cubes don't in order to preserve the sanctity of green or whatever.

That gives players a good baseline but most cubes I see (including the MTGO Legacy cube) tend to be A LOT more midrange friendly and are more stingy on the fast mana. Or as Brian Wong would say "Mono Fair.Dec" is live. Swords are usually some of the best cards in most cubes compared to their ranking of solid/good in the MTGO Vintage/Holiday cube.
MTGO is largely long term enfranchised competitive players and the vintage cube list caters for that, it's also only available for a fraction of the year. They enjoy or will put up with different things than most and you see that played out by R&D who have skewed recent standard environments towards a lot more mid range. I don't blame cube designers moving away from the Vintage Cube and towards a more "fair" and interactive environment in order to maintain a decent pool of players.

LSV calling it his favourite format is a good quote to run out during the sales pitch to potential new cubers.

A lot of bad memories in this cube.
Budoka Gardener, Dimir Cutpurse, Ohran Viper.... all cards I tried to build a standard deck around. I brought a Budoka Gardener deck to my first constructed FNM and played Affinity (with artifact lands and Disciple of the Vault) 1st round. It was an um education.

I'm not sure what your Planeswalker Policy is but if you have room for a multi coloured one then Narset fits the theme, but she is probably just bad in cube. Kiblers hyped card Daybreak Ranger is a candidate.
Bloodhall Ooze was a card Rosewater compared to Wild Nacatal.

You also have Gyre Sage listed twice. Perhaps replace it with the Green Delver of Secrets in Honored Heirach Smile

These all look like solid changes except for this one:

I think the best cut from your list is Mayor of Avabruck, it can be hard to flip without Time Walking yourself, and your list isn't really supporting green aggro. Call of the Herd and Harmonize also seem like reasonable cuts.

I don't really see him as a strictly beatdown card. More like a Tarmogoyf in that he can put some pressure on and keep your opponents honest if they are doing nothing but he only costs two mana. You don't have to worry about flipping him straight away and it quickly gets to the stage where you can drop him and do something else/keep mana up on your turn.
Eventually he can just win the game by himself which is a good return for two mana.

Picked up a Welder to finish red and get the artifact theme to what feels like it's critical mass.

Added nothing from the new Commander sets despite it looking like a nicely designed set. There are 4 blue cards on the list but blue already feels like the strongest colour so I am not in a rush.

    The Want List

    Gold, Lands and Colorless
    Grim Monolith will replace something

    Blue
Jace Flip Walker will replace Delver of Secrets
    Treachery will replace Impulse
Phantasmal Image will replace Stratus Dancer

    White
    Reveilark will replace Iona

    Green
Lotus Cobra will replace Rampant Growth
Green Suns Zenith will replace Exploration

    Black
    Toxic Deluge will replace Necropotence

Illusions seem an interesting tribe for blue beatdown. They have some under costed beaters 2/2's for 1 etc and some dragons and at least one lord.

I remember it was an archetype in duels of the planeswalkers one time.

I don't play many manlands (which reminds me to fit in Mutavault) so the destroy a land part isn't as relevant. Just feels like a more expensive harder to splash reclamation sage. I think Exploration is unnecessary overkill in green so that frees up a spot though. When I get time I will check out the new commander spoiler and if there is nothing that gabs me the snake looks safe.

Agree with your call on the black cards.

    Gold, Lands and Colorless
Grim Monolith will replace Basalt Monolith
Hangerback Walker will replace Nevinyrral's Disk

    Blue
Jace Flip Walker will replace Delver of Secrets
    Treachery will replace Impulse
Phantasmal Image will replace Stratus Dancer
    Daze will replace Compulsive research

    Red
Goblin Welder will replace Reckless Waif

    White
    Reveilark will replace Iona
Relic Seeker will replace Cloistered Youth

    Green
Lotus Cobra will replace Rampant Growth
Green Suns Zenith will replace Exploration

    Black
