Besides cobras, fauna shamans and SFM. What else do you guys use Dismember on? I catch myself using it on most mana dorks like BoP and Joraga. Thoughts?

Inkmoth Nexus and other manlands are excellent targets for dismember as well. That monogreen inkmoth nexus deck gets hosed pretty bad by dismember.

Yes, it's good, but what are you going to do with it? It doesn't really fit into any of the current decks, and so far, no one's been able to brainstorm a truly competitive deck that wants it. That's the problem with a lot of cards, past, present, and future: they may be really good in a vacuum/casual, but they just can't find a home in constructed.

I personally think that Grand Architect and Tempered Steel have the best chance of being relevant post-NPH. The number of targets for both of them greatly increases in the new meta.

In terms of NPH cards that are currently flying below the radar, the only two I can think of are Life's Finale and Urabrask, the Hidden. Life's Finale is technically the closest black has gotten to Damnation in years, though Black Sun's Zenith may be better, and as many have said, MB(C or A) most likely still won't be viable, and I'm not sure it does anything that BSZ doesn't already do. Urabrask is getting some buzz, since it provides some nice late-game reach for RDW, but it might still be undervalued depending on how RDW fares in the new meta.

If a deck based on tempered steel emerges i think the splicer would be a part of it. There is the potentially competitive deck that wants it.

I love that the tokens have trample. It might be easy to kick it considering the number of eldrazi spawn you can produce. Maybe praetor's counsel could be worth considering as a way to easily combo out after activating pyromancer's ascension?

It's easy to dump into the yard too. Not like a burn spell you'd want to hold onto to maximize value or a token generating spell that you might wanna play around mass removal.

Maybe try explore as a way to draw cards on the cheap?

And honestly, anyone saying Casey went too far doesn't realize that there's a good chance that Casey probably didn't even have a good idea how to fight. Him using his size to his advantage was probably the only thing that made sense to him in that situation.

Versus Aggro? Obstinate Baloth, definitely. The lifegain is against decks like Boros and Kuldotha Red is just as relevant as the 4/4 body.

Why would you care that Baloth gets countered? There's no reason you would ever want to SB it in against control, anyway.

If you have space for Thrun in your sideboard to play against control, then...okay, I guess? I'd personally much rather run Gaea's Revenge and Terastodon, since they end games, but if you like Thrun, then go for it.

He's a cool card, but I'm not convinced that Eldrazi Ramp is the deck for him. He's a very efficient creature, but he doesn't really do any of the things the deck wants to do. He doesn't ramp, and he doesn't end games. He's a nice beater, sure, but he's not really going to put a control deck on a terribly short clock. They have a million ways to chump block him until they can find an answer (technically a million and one ways, now that Squadron hawk is played in every white-based control deck). Add to that the fact that so many control decks play Journey to Nowhere, and Thrun looks very sad, indeed.

Journey to Nowhere doesn't do the trick. Shroud will still prevent journey from targetting Thrun.

So this Kraynox remembers the old phyrexia. Strange. Kind of telling too, they may introduce a "reincarnated" form of an old standout phyrexian character. No sense speculating who.

So if someone doesn't know manslaughter is illegal because they couldn't find it its okay to do it? Ignorance is not a defense. It was quite easy actually.

Are you honestly equating a law like manslaughter to a law regarding recording a conversation with police? What is the logic behind that comparison? Before I read this thread I had no idea recording a conversation with police without their consent could be a crime that carries that much weight. It'd be difficult to compare the two laws.

You're also completely disregarding the situation the woman was in when she made the decision to record.

How exactly does any possible metalcraft deck that you could build with all of our known cards ever beat that card? The very nature of the ability requires overextention.

Only 22 lands in a deck running 3 five drops seems a little loose to me. I don't know what cuts if any you could make but it just looks land light to me.

How can you even say that? For example:

    Terrible Creature B
    Creature - Terrible
    Infect
When Terrible Creature enters the battlefield, lose 10 life.
    2/1

Clearly not "way too much" under these circumstances...

Well, that drawback is just silly. In a way it's still "way too much" just in the opposite direction. I still don't see a feasible way they could print a 2 power one drop infector. 1 power would still put it on par with some of the more aggressive one drops.

Why no ruinblaster? Seems like it would fit well in your deck while giving you another avenue to win the game.

edit: Oh, sorry just saw it in the side.

There's no way they'd give a 1 drop infector 2 power under any circumstances. thats just way too much.
