If anyone doubts that goblins will be in Izzet just look at Flight of Fancy.Thats definatly an izzet mage and of course a goblin.
Luminum you'd have to find where in the book cause i don't remeber them talking about the izzet in the book any more than they do the gruul.They only mention the rakdos so much because of the carnage they where makeing for a while and the boros had to deal with it.They lost alot of people so you can understand the boros's heavy dislike of the rakdos.
Umm we've had goblin artificers before.There are going to be goblins in the Izzet for sure.In fact the goblins nature of messing with things,which usually blow up,is perfect for the Izzet.Have you ever heard the term "Idiot Savant".Tell a goblin he can't get to the moon,two months later you'll have a funky rocket that can actually make it to the moon.Of course the goblin was so busy makeing the rocket he forgot to make a spacesuit and died 20 mins after takeoff.
Its counting flavor text apperantly.As wizards said before the signets,guildmages,bounce lands, ans rav-duals are going to be continued throughout the block.Everything else is going to be different.
I belevie when they started using the orb (around Mirrodin i think) it used to count flavor text.But they stopped it because it was screwing with the count.
It even says on the GP orb page that it "It doesn't count flavor text....(this time)".I wouldn't be suprised if every now and then it threw in an extra count from a flavor text.Maybe there is some small glitch they have or haven't got out of the counting system.
Edit-It still seems to count flavor text.It says Slum appears 3 time.And rumbling slum says it in its name,rules text and flavor text.There could be another slum card in the set,but it still doesn't look like wizards is right about it not counting flavor text.
I hope they don't do the 3rd set goes out with a bang this time.Don't get me wrong Dissension will be a great set.But if they do the whole "this set gonn be of the chizzy" thing it might screw around with the balance there trying to make for this block.And well all know the problem with the last set in the block, it either goes crazy or trips over itself just after it gets out of the gate.Ravnica is awsome right now.Nothing seems super broken, no one guild over shadows the others,pardon the pun Dimir lovers,this is really shapeing up to be a very memorable block.
Why are people looking for tirbal cards in a block whos theme is two color combos?Thats foolish.If you want a tribal theme go back to Onslaught.Wizards isn't going to push a tribal theme for quite some time as onslaught isn't that old.Yes there are definatly going to be demons in DIS,but don't be excpecting a whole lotta "this gets "ablility" if you control a demon." or "sacrifice ~this~ if you don't control a demon." .We just went throught a whole block that did that.They might have about 3 cards that care about demons,but thats just to go along with there new thing about better interblock play.
The Sentinels are suppose to be the last line of defence of the district there in.There is 10 of them because there are 10 main districts the boros enforce law.They are boros only,there is no golgari,selesnya,orzhov...etc sentinels.

The boros only activated the when there loseing horribly,like when the golgari attacked the boros in the 10th district.They activated it,it killed a bunch of gogari,then the golgari managed to take it down,it took out another huge chunk of the gogari army when it collapsed on them.Then the boros regrouped and won.
It could be a cleric because the Orzhov claim to be a religon,though every one knows the deal in coin.
The Selesyna mage coulda been a cleric too but they went with wizard, so who knows what they'll do.
Niv-Mizzet might not even realize the Dimir mage was there.Plus the mage wouldn't stand a chance against her (is Niv-Mizzet a she?Damm dragons and there androginy(i know i probably spelled it wrong)) if she realized he was there.
So the Rakdos are gonna suck just cause that dont have a function in society anymore?That doesn't make any sense.So your saying the Gruul are gonna suck too.They have no current funtion in ravnica either.
As for the no flavor part,how do you promote new constrution of buildings and trying to get people to buy new things?Easy with destrution.If a building never falls why make a new one.If your sheild never breaks why would you need a new one.The Rakdos funtion is seemingly mindless yet helps industry in the biggest way.
The Boros need them because what other guild would cause so much ruckus that the police would need to be called in.
The Golgari clean up after all there suicide and massacares,then use rot and fungus to grow food.
The Izzet and the Simic probably use them as test subject.Especialy the Izzet,the izzet mage tests something and the Rakdos guy blows up.Then the ghost of the Rakdos goes "I blowed up reallllll good."
The Selesyna see them as potential converters.(hell what function do they serve anyway??)
The Orzhov over hear how they blew up some building and people died,so the Orzhov sell them furnitrue and pictures and trinkets to make victims "feel better".
The Gruul porbably seem then as an ally in the war against civilization.
The Azorius are just annoyed by there constant disregard for the laws they create.Ok so the Rakdos don't really help them.
The Dimir just see them as the perfect pawns.I wouldn't be suprised if Szadek had plans to use the Rakdos to destroy the other guilds then turn on them.
You mean biomancer.Technomancer would suggest arifacts which the guild is not about.
Momir Vig will probably the guild subordante card wise.I though people where calling the smaller ones guild champions.
I'd rather rather buy a toruney pack knowing that i could get three rares i may or may not have and a token that i could actually use for the game.
I know rather work my ass off to get my own invitational card then open up a pack to see my dumb ass on a card that the majority of the community don't like and has no effect on the game at all.
Better yet why not put 3 or 4 random token cards in the packs.They could put in the appropriate token each block.And i may be streching it to far, why not put a single token in a booster too?
