    I would like a world themed around the source material HP is derived from, such as a school of wizards, English themed, with various "houses" or "dorms" etc. Although frankly this is a concept that seems more appropriate for a region of a world (such as Minamo on Kamigawa) that it is to carry an entire plane. I imagine the school is a prominent location of the plane at large, but not the whole world itself.

    I am generally in favour of the crossover stuff because it's just kinda fun and mostly harmless, but I would personally be loathe to see an actual Harry Potter crossover. Just let that damn franchise die, I'm sick of it and especially it's author.
    I am admittedly biased but I do also think a Harry Potter crossover wouldn't work as well aesthetically as the Godzilla one did and would feel more forced and advertisement-y.

    Those require significant resources for WotC to produce and sell as a separate product. These minigames are just informational cards found in existing boosters. These aren't, and won't ever be, replacing products like Planechase, Archenemy, or Explorers of Ixalan. They replace tokens and adds.

    Another thought: this probably wants a may clause or up to one clause. It's not going to be all that rare for there to be a situation where the mandatory flicker is a downside and I don't see any particular reason for it to be there.

    Interesting. It looks a little bit bland and a little bit weak looking for a rare though. Given the Captor flavour, you could let it target any creature. I would consider making it a little cheaper and lower to the ground so its easier to get out and combine with other cards. Like a 4 mana 3/3.

    Totally calling that Strixhaven will have nonland permanent (mainly creature)/spell MDFCs.
    It's a way to help get the as-fan up for a major instants and sorceries matter theme while providing some in-game flexibility and not pigeonholing everyone into playing the theme. It's also something that you would want to invent MDFCs for and we know that Strixhaven's design was the origin of MDFCs. Main question with this would be how to make them feel sufficiently distinct from Adventures, especially when they will be in standard together for a bit. I imagine we'd see a significant portion of big spells, versus the small spells on Adventures that are meant to be curved into the creature. This would also be helpful given what WotC has said about the design of adventures with players not wanting to give up their creatures for the spells, in that bigger splashier spells people would be happier playing over smaller creatures than the other way around. You could also perhaps see a significant number of noncreature permanents stapled to spells with MDFCs rather than only creatures as with adventures. Perhaps auras, for instance, that have a spell on the back that gives a similar effect to all your creatures temporarily or that gives it only to one temporarily but for cheap or with the bonus of cantrip say.

    I think the upkeep decay version is best, combined with false life being lost first. This way it acts a bit like a temporary shield.
    I would consider @megatog201's suggestion of doing it in the form of a separate resource of counters also. This would remove the life gain and life loss interaction and make any synergy with the mechanic you have more parasitic, but it might be easier to track and it would remove potential balance problems around cards that scale with life gain and loss like Sanguine Bond given that false life is going to be easier to gain and loose.
    Personally I lean more toward doing it as false life for the interactivity but doing it as separate counters definitely has its advantages.

    What are the chances the *only* MDFCs in Kaldheim are the pathway fliplands?
    Unlikely I think. But there may not be very many other DFCs other. Strixhaven is bound to have a whole bunch considering MDFCs were planned for it. Maybe Kaldheim will be the DFC light of the three, even if it's just a little bit less.

    At the beginning of your upkeep, ask yourself, do you deserve to win the game? Would the artistic spirit of the game be elevated to new heights? Have you played with honor and wisdom? What good have you done for the world? When the ages of this world have long since left you behind, and you are but dust in the wind, will you be remembered? If you do, add seven red mana , draw seven cards, and ~ deals 7 damage to each opponent.

    Looks good. At worst it's two 3/3s for three. And not hard for it to get better. Will definitely see play I think if there's a green mana black mana deck around that uses any significant amount of +1/+1 counters.

    Am I missing something or is the "and it's your turn" redundant? Since it has no flash and you have to cast it, you couldn't return it on oponents turns anyway. Did they just add it to prevent confusion?

    Quite possibly. I think it also stops you from casting it though it had flash with another card, but that doesn't seem like that big a deal to stop.
