thnkr, That is an awesome idea. I will be using this strategy in my GDS matches from now on. I've felt very helpless against them, but hopefully this helps somewhat!

Also, my review of Mechanized Production is live! https://reddit.it/6nohul

Honestly, Sanuri got it. Extra discard and Magus of the Moat. Their only out to Magus is Thoughtseize, or double Kolaghan's Command in hand (since they don't run enough lands for Kmd-Snap-Kmd).

I played the UB liliana version for a long time before moving on to the turbo version. Although I did 3 tez 3 lili most of the time. I really liked that liliana was an answer to problem permanents as well as a cute combo with echoing truth to quickly dispose of things like stony silence. I usually played 2-3 whirs and the manabase got progressively more awkward with the darksteel citadels and trying to cast lili+whir on time. But all in all it was a solid deck.

That being said the turbo version feels way smoother with 4 serum 4 whir. You get some free wins off of whirring for maindeck cage/needle and better access to the combo and time sieve. The only time I really miss liliana is the times I could stick her versus a control deck and shred their hand, sometimes fighing through logic knots negates and snapcasters is just downright impossible with the turbo version as if you can't stick a foundry/tez you pretty much can't actually win the game. Academy ruins helps but is still pretty slow.
It's tech time! Maybe Scepter of Fugue could help you as a Liliana replacement.

I ran Crucible for a while, but then put it side-by-side with Mechanized Production and realized that I simply liked Production more. I feel like Production does Crucible's job of giving Lantern additional utility, flexibility, and inevitability a lot better than Crucible does.

For a sweeper, I would rather play with Terminus and Noxious.
Maybe you're on to something... It's a shame I have no room for a sweeper in my mainboard.

    Ninja-Edit: Maybe in my SB?

Turtle-Edit: I have a one-of Dispatch that I could swap out for this. Problem is I like Dispatch.

I have a feeling Reckoning will go like this:

Opp: Drop Tas and a Shadow
    Us: Play Reckoning
    Opp: Drop another Shadow
    Us: ...
    Opp: Swing 10

The time walk effect is a real drawback and idk if it's worth it.

Honestly, I think Magus of the Moat is just better. It costs one more, sure, but also has much less potential to backfire.

Ok so after some limited testing, I think Magus of the Moat is the real deal. I sided him in 3/4 matches tonight, and he took over a couple games all on his own. Resolving Moat against an Elves player holding Nature's Claim and Rec Sage in hand felt really good! I will be going up to 2x side and see how that goes.

Ok. So I will probably get crucified for this but.... I think Serum Visions is bad in turns. Or at least my version of turns. So many times when testing I've cast Serum Visions only to draw a Temporal Mastery or something I didn't want, that I wish I could have just tossed with scry. I will be testing Mystic Speculation over the next couple weeks and let you all know how it goes. I believe being able to bottom 3 cards and then draw multiple cards off of mine the next turn is a lot more valuable thank the 1 extra card you get to draw early game. All alongside being able to filter out non turn cards late game while comboing is very strong in my build that only runs 8 warps.

Please let me know your thoughts and opinions on not only this card in turns all together, but also in my build specifically.
I'm curious... How did testing for Mystic Speculation go for you? Did you ever use buyback? Would something like Index not worked as well?

I think he made a smart move by using non-artifact cards, the hate out there is really bad and having some answers that aren't shut down by stony or bounced with hurkyl is smart. All of those cards he chose were effective in one form or another, I think having a few non-artifacts that cost more than one cmc is something to look into.

Just my opinion,I'm still using baubles though so I might be behind the times.lol
Not everyone here uses Leylines (myself included, I use Revival). Some of us still use Bauble.

The hate is real right now, and Lantern is adapting to the meta. I think you make an excellent point.

It's Magus of the Moat, SCG is wrong (probably because they didn't even know this Magus was a card)

Sry for the double post but also for those who have trouble with their bridges getting extracted. Remember you can always surgical your own bridge in response and fail to find the others.
Or use Noxious Revival in response XD

    Ooooo How did they do?

Diversifying our "threats" could help out in a number of ways. There are very few cards that can deal with both Bridge and Magus (the ones I can think of are Thoughtseize, Maelstrom Pulse, and Detention Sphere). Having two very different threats that do essentially the same thing means that our opponents need to diversify their answers, making it a lot easier for Lantern to "split" their deck to only keep them off answers for the wrong threat.

Sure, Fatal Push kills Magus, but it does nothing against Bridge. If GDS sides out a Ceremonious Rejection for a Push, we're going to rejoice; that's one less thing that kills Bridge.

I had trouble even with the white leyline. I'm not so much worried about their discard spells; it's those damned counterspells Stubborn Denial and Ceremonious Rejection that I'm mostly worried about. They just have so many varied answers that it's difficult to handle all of them.

So is it just that I have terrible luck? GDS seems to have at least one discard spell and at least one counterspell every time I play against them. And their creatures only give me until turn 6 at the latest to win.
