Um... Grafdigger's Cage should work against CoCo, right? The two creature cards enter the battlefield from the top six cards of the library, and the Cage says they can't enter.
I will find a spot for Circle of Protection: Red in my sideboard. Keep in mind that "source" can be any spell or permanent, meaning it can act as a pseudo-Bridge against burn that also hits Eidolon. Also gonna tinker with a one-of Faith's Shield in there as well, because why not. It may help by countering destruction spells ("target permanent") as well as a pseudo- Angel's Grace / Fog type thing. I dunno.
Also, never forget about the last ability Pyxis has. Cracking Pyxis can be very relevant, especially if all you have under it are permanents and all they have are spells.
Okay, so Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree was win-more, like everyone predicted lol. It was only relevant late-game. I am gonna use Kher Keep instead, and see how that works. If that doesn't work, i will get another Ghost Quarter.
You could just wait till your second main phase to play your spells, letting you keep that card in hand while you attack with a swarm of tokens. It's not meant to be an early-game enabler, but a late-game finisher that can produce chump blockers if needed. You are right in that it is mana-intensive, though. I am gonna try both out and see what works best, if either.
I will try the wreckage again, too. I tried it once before, and found it to be not that useful. That's just me though.
I'm gonna try out Vitu-Ghazi, the City-Tree as a one-of, to be used as a fifth Bridge and a win condition. I may also try the cheaper Kher Keep if i'm finding the 1 power is either too expensive or not relevant. I might be going too jank now... What are your thoughts on this?
Okay... so Reflecting Pool sucks. I have run into too many situations where i have that and a colorless-only land in my starting hand. I will be replacing it with another, more useful land.
Anyone been trying Beast Within in their decks or sides? I've got a 1-1 split so far, and it's working wonders. Certainly helps against Tron!
EDIT: Here's the list i've been using lately. It's got a ton of wonky one-of's in it, but i've actually found that to be quite useful. Kinda lets it work like a toolbox with Infernal Tutor (so good). I have found that having variation in the redundant parts of the deck helps give it a lot of flexibility (for example, Hide // Seek hits things like Keranos, God of Storms that Nature's Claim can't touch, and Beast Within hits Tron pieces and manlands while Abrupt Decay is useless there). Also, i've been wanting to go up to 4x Leyline of Sanctity, but i'm unsure what i should cut for it. I am also considering adding a basic Swamp in there somewhere... probably in place of the Blackcleave Cliffs.
Infernal Tutor has been amazing for me. It's been always relevant, and the only time where it screwed up a game was when i drew two of them. (So i only run one now.) It does come in handy even when not hellbent, i might add. frequently use it to grab Academy Ruins, but i have gotten Lantern, Bridge, or mill rocks with it before.
I like the idea of using a one-of Noxious Revival main, but i have no idea what to cut for it.
I must have missed something. Why is more creatures even a consideration? What value do they add? What would you give up to add them?
I... don't know. Utility creatures seem to not be a good idea in this removal-heavy meta. The big reason we even use skite is that it saves other pieces, and is bolt-proof.
I kinda fsel like Sea Gate Wreckage may be pointless, since you're trying to empty your hand for a bridge. And if you need to draw two cards, then you could just take two turns. But... i have never played with it, so i can't judge. I will try one in place of my Duskmantle, House of Shadow.
I would much rather have Infernal Tutor over either Fabricate or Reshape. I have tutored for Academy Ruins or Abrupt Decay on multiple occasions. It really does act like a Demonic Tutor in this deck; you can't get better than that.
I personally would not recommend any creatures besides the 'skite. Reason being, your opponents are running all sorts of creature removal, and not running creatures blanks these cards. If we ran creatures as well, then it would give our opponents something else to do, and now we would have to spend extra energy milling their Paths and Terminates, instead of letting them sit dead in their hands. The whole point of having 'skite is that it saves our other stuff from being removed; if it dies, it's done its job.
Flaying Tendrils looks good, but the mana cost is restrictive. I personally would rather run Pyroclasm, just because it is so cheap to cast. If i were to use a 3CMC mass removal spell, it would be Anger of the Gods.
