Hard to choose just one card, but I think it has to be Balance. It's among the most broken cards printed and I really have to wonder if the creators really thought it was balanced. I mean, if you set it up, you get Armageddon, Wrath of God, and Mind Twist for two mana. It's just insane.

Exactly what I thought.

How is this creature not an imp? It certainly isn't drake-like at all. Drakes are smaller dragons. This is a winged humanoid with a pointed nose and in all likelihood black in color--hence, an imp. I really think this is Foul Imp but it could be any imp in this alphabetical section.

I'm wondering what other Portal goodies we could see. Dare I hope for Sea Drake? Fire Imp?

Serra, Nightmare, and Shivan should all stay. I like the iconic creatures from way back. They don't need to do anything in tournament. They are definitive Magic creatures. Also, they are pretty good in draft, I hear.

I'm not sure of this. The Red one may boost the power of Rack decks. The Blue one is tricky, but you can make the disadvantage one-sided by playing Gaea's Blessing in the deck. It's not competitive, but it's a cool card for a casual milling deck. You also may be able to turn the self-mill into a benefit by using dredge, flashback, or something similar.

I think this deck was around before Calciderm came out. That said, I don't have a better theory.

As long as it uses the original Quentin Hoover art. I miss his old stuff. He and Tom Wanerstrand are still my favorite artists in Magic.

Nevies rules! When that first went out of print, I went on a collecting spree for them. I think at one point, I owned 18 of them. I've traded a few away since, but I'm sure I still own a dozen. It's the best friend of Black and Red mages everywhere.
I would not mind seeing that reprinted at all.
