I don't get why people are ragging on the Banned list in YGO. Without the concept of mana, all magic cards cost the same amount (i.e. nothing, except for a few which have drawbacks). And when there are cards like Plague Wind (Raigeki), Wrath of God (Dark Hole), Ancestral Recall (Pot of Greed) etc. printed, obviously you need to ban those cards. It would be pretty ridiculous otherwise.
The issue with the Restricted/Banned List isn't that there are banned cards but there are restricted cards. This means that randomness becomes more and more a part of the game, and less skill is required in deck construction, as you should always toss in the restricted cards 99% of the time.
True, VIntage has a restricted list, but that's only because it is the You should be able to play almost every card format with the degenerate decks it makes.

No limited formats is what really turns me off of Yu-gi-oh.
