    I was the Tezzeret player. About the Scapeshift matchup: apart from Witchbane Orb I played a bunch of discard (5 main 3 sb) and after sb I had 2 extirpates which can combine with Ghost Quarter to take away Valakut or with discard to remove Scapeshifts. For Titan there's Torpor Orb and Ensnaring Bridge or Executioner's Capsule. But I didn't really draw the relevant cards, or the Tezzerets (I played 7) to find them. Oh well.

    I can post my list when I'm home if you want.

    Yay! Please do post the list whenever it is convenient for you. XD

    But damn, that's a lot of Specific cards to stop Specific things. =.= A lot of things needed to go in your favor, for the MU.

    It can't replace Traft in this. It doesn't work well with Steel of the Godhead.

    The thing is, is it really worth the spot just because of the bonus it gets from steel of godhead?

    Against affinity, Geist does nothing. it's only good vs. everything else. Whereas blade splicer does a better job against a bad match, and a decent job for the rest.

    I would like to have your thoughts on a tech card featured in Shahar Shenhar's deck to battle affinity: Blade Splicer. Apparently the thought process was Geist of Saint Traft was ditched in favor of the Splicer. Splicer technically does the same thing, but the colorless property of the golem token, plus First Strike put on it via Blade Splicer trumped Geist and his colored flying angel token in the matchup w/ affinity... Enough that Blade Splicer took Geist's place in the main board.

    That said, should the same idea work in this deck as well? The problem MU seems to be the same deck in question, so Blade Splicer might work here also, right?

    If you're selling cards because of real-life issues, then I suggest that you don't sell any components of completed decks. If you're gonna sell something from those decks, sell the sideboards. To this day, I regret selling my Ichorids and Bridges since I just couldn't get enough money to buy LED's to complete a Legacy Dredge deck, and then 1 year later Ballustrade Spy shows up. =.= Moral of the story: don't be like me.

    Doesn't sound like he made it Frown

    Scapeshift seems like it would be a hard matchup for that deck. I don't know the list he's running, but their countermagic suite tends to be pretty light and/or conditional (e.g. Spell Snare), and they don't run a lot of other relevant hate for the matchup.

    I think his ONLY silver bullet is/was Witchbane Orb. That match up has got to sting a bit. lol

    EDIT:
    Did everyone see the Mono-Green Nykthos deck? It looked underwhelming. If it had Magus of the Candelabra, and Thousand-Year Elixir for some untapping goodness, it might have been something. But no, it's a straight up, Elfball-esque deck minus the draw engine.

    Point is, it still doesn't work, when it changes zones it becomes a new object and the spell can't exile it twice because it's "target" is no longer there.
    If you put the chose a creature part twice, it would work.

    Putting "choose a creature" again after the blink ability makes the spell able to affect a different creature though. =.=
    Now that you mentioned it, maybe I should've worded it better.

    Blink Twice :2mana::symw: (ver. 2)
    Choose a creature.
    Exile chosen creature then return it to the battlefield. If a creature enters the battlefield this way, exile that creature then return it to the battlefield.

    Capitalism/Imperialism IS a top-down model in of itself. I don't think it's one of Wizards' top priority at the moment if you asked me.

    Does this mean I can use it on a hexproof creature my opponent controls to make it lose it's enchantments? Because I hate that guy.

    Yes, I'm sure that works too. Stuffy Doll has a similar wording, and Ivory Mask doesn't work against it because Stuffy Doll didn't target.

    Wow, color me interested. I would lmao if a mostly standard deck made it to the top 16.

    The way I see it, the main add from modern are Merrow Reejerey and Aethervial is what makes a Merfolk w/ devotion deck go. Now that I think about it, Nykthos would produce a degenerate amount of blue mana w/ Reejerey too.

    "Stanislav has the same deck as Martin Juza" says the commentators. So it is the deck I posted earlier. I'm so disappointed. lol

    @izzetmage
    W/ Early Harvest in the format, You'd only need at least 5 devotion.

    The God hand should only require 3 Devotion w/ Early Harvest:
    2 Nykthos, BTE, Early Harvest, Forest, Sakura-Tribe Scout, Tooth and Nail.

    Turn 1: Forest, Sakura-Tribe Scout
    Turn 2: Nykthos#1, Nykthos#2 (via scout), tap Nykthos#1 and forest, BTE float RG, tap Nykthos#2 float GGGGR, Early Harvest float GG, tap out for G+GGG+GGG+GG, T&N entwined.

    scratch that, forgot Early Harvest doesn't untap non basics. =.=

    After some thought, if BOTH Simic Growth Chamber AND Village Bell-ringer are going into 1 deck, maybe it's a UGW variant of Kangaroo that runs Rude Awakening?

    Blink Twice :2mana::symw:
    Instant
    Choose a creature.
    Exile that creature then return it to the battlefield.
    Exile that creature then return it to the battlefield.

    (Yes that's not a typo. You blink the creature twice. XD)
