To me it's not about the question of interesting or generic rounds. It's just that most of September's challenges is VERY limiting in ways that leave very little room for creativity. I'm always up for a unique or a difficult round, but restrictive ones really take away from the fun of card creation. Like the final round for example, which essentially only allows you to design JUST the trigger. Almost everything else is laid out for you.

    Elvish Mindcreeper BB
    Creature - Elf Rogue
Attacking Elves you control has fear as long as defending player has three or fewer cards in his or her hand.
Be wary of the dark elves. They’ll deteriorate your soul and penetrate right through.

It seems like my card isn't much of a hit with the judges, but that's perfectly understandable. My very good excuse is that I was caught up with projects and my card was "designed" and posted at 6 in the morning (Thailand time) before I go to college. The fact that I've mistaken the art as a phoenix when it's obviously a dragon says it all really. Smile

One thing though, I'd like to join the crowd people who didn't like the round. It was undeniably restrictive, and none of the cards are upto the standards of other final rounds IMHO. It would have been much more interesting if it allowed broader interpretations of sleeping enchantments and didn't have that recognizable creature restriction.

    Mindtwister 2BB
    Creature - Zombie
When Mindtwister comes into play, target player discards a card. If that player does, search your library for a card that shares a card type with the discarded card and put it in your hand.

Just for the record, I absolutely loved riddle's card. IMO it's the best of the bunch, speaking obviously from a third person point of view. It'd be such a shame to see it get disqualified.

In response to genesys's post, my card is a take on Shivan Phoenix. Everything about the card is all there except the P/T.

    Recurring Revival 1RRR
    Enchantment
Whenever a source you control deals damage to an opponent, put that many charge counters on Recurring Revival.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if Recurring Revival is an enchantment, it becomes a red Phoenix X/X creature with flying, where X is the number of charge counters on it. It gains “When Recurring Revival is put into a graveyard from play, return it to your hand.”
The one thing that does not fade with time.

    Ancestral Presence GW
    Enchantment (Rare)
As long as Ancestral Presence is in your graveyard, creature spells you play cost 1 less to play and noncreature spells your opponent plays cost 1 more to play.
Whenever the third noncreature spell of a turn is played, if Ancestral Presence is in your graveyard, remove Ancestral Presence from the game.
The guiding light shines from the gates of the afterlife, assisting the descendants with mysterious energy and interfering with all external magic.

If my card has something along the lines of "Whenever something happens, sacrifice this." This is an in play ability, but it does nothing other than sending itself to your graveyard. Is it OK?

    Morbid Scientist 1UB
    Creature - Human Wizard
When Morbid Scientist is put into your hand from your graveyard, discard a card at random. If Morbid Scientist was discarded this way, put it into play and draw two cards.
1, Sacrifice Morbid Scientist: Draw a card.
His most wicked experiments are conducted after his death.
