After a brutal match win, I generally let my opponent offer up the "Good Games" or the hand shake, since it does come off as you being smug when they were obviously not good games. Now, when I'm on the receiving end of a brutal match, I try to offer a handshake because I don't want to take away from they're victory by being a dick about getting trounced; that's Magic.

This being an instant is really good though. Unlike cruise you can actually play this early, too. It's often going to be cheaper than cruise too. Sure in magical christmas land cruise costs 1 mana, but that takes 7 cards in the yard already. This comes faster and on the end step, and fuels cruise too. They're actually not too far away.
...Seriously? Treasure Cruise got banned in Legacy....IN LEGACY! TC is quite possibly the closest Ancestral Recall we've ever had. They are NOT anywhere near in powerful.

Yeah... comparing the fact that Treasure Cruise got banned in Legacy means nothing in this context... ANY card that could draw 3 cards that cheap WILL get banned in Legacy because of the other cards that surround it. This is Standard we are talking about and in that venue, Treasure Cruise and Anticipate are NOT that far off in power level (in fact, most people will tell you that Dig Through Time is the most powerful of all 3 in Standard). I would still say Cruise in the stronger card in a vacuum, but I'd much rather have Anticipate early over a clunky 8 cmc sorcery that could potentially rot in my hand for the rest of the game.

Ok, bowing out of this discussion for good. Is this really how far magic players have fallen in terms of card evaluation? First off you're right, no he will not see play until rtr rotates, but after that I guarantee he will see play. Everyone saying he's a baddie or Tibalt 2.0 are either trolls or idiot noobs who have no idea what they are talking about. Peace out and don't get mad when I beat you with the help of this "bad" card.

This is a hard one to evaluate and it doesn't get any easier when you let frustration evaluate for you. First and foremost, he is not on par with past Jaces, with the exception of Memory Adept and since he is replacing Memory Adept that seems fine. Is he good against aggressive strategies? That depends, if you are playing him a superfriends type deck he probably can get to ultimate, since you are giving your opponent too many other good walkers to attack into AND Kiora protects him as well as Elspeth. On top of that Sylvan Caryatid protects him and even accelerates him a turn. Against control he is much better (just like Memory Adept). His +1 filters cards, which is a highly undervalued piece of utility. I know I've lost several games where the card I needed was 2 down instead of being on top. His -3 is pretty much just a safety net and I'll admit fairly underwhelming, but the ultimate is gg 9 times out of 10. I think he is a fine walker, not overtly powerful in a vacuum, but within the right context he could be quite powerful. Given the wrong context, he is probably not great, but I for one will be getting a playset, I'm sure the price will be right with all the hate flying around. In closing, I guess was it the Jace we wanted? No, but let's get real here; the Jace we wanted has been deemed too powerful for Modern, so we'll never see him in standard ever again unless of course he comes with an instant emergency standard banning or current R&D and MaRo get fired, tarred and feathered.
