These cards do work well together. While you are correct that "attacks" means "declared as an attacker" (which means it triggers during the act of being declared an attacker), "attacks and isn't blocked" actually triggers during the Declare Blockers Step. This is out of necessity as it needs to wait until players get a chance to block in order to trigger. So, while the copy of Guiltfeeder is not declared as an attacker, it is attacking and (potentially) not blocked which does allow it to trigger in this case.Quote from Slarg232 »Quote from Gashnaw »
why would it not?Quote from ilovesaprolings »Does Gyrus trigger guiltfeeder?
The wording; "attacks" usually means it has to actually be declared as an attacker, though I'm not sure how "attacks and isn't blocked" is handled.
Judge!
509.5g. An ability that reads "Whenever [a creature] attacks and isn't blocked, . . ." triggers if no creatures are declared as blockers for that creature. It will trigger even if the creature was never declared as an attacker (for example, if it entered the battlefield attacking). It won't trigger if the attacking creature is blocked and then all its blockers are removed from combat.
You would assume correctly. No matter how we look at Arixmethes (as a land or creature), Solemnity prevents counters from being added. Since it has no counters, it will be a 12/12 right away.Quote from cyberium_neo »I presume Solemnity would allow Arixmethes to enter as a creature automatically? -

Here's the link with comments enabled you can either point out errors or whatever.Quote from Slarg232 »Quote from Hermes_ »Quote from Slarg232 »Quote from Hermes_ »I'm about to start writing chapter 5 for my book
Oooo, what's the book about?
I'm expanding on a short story I wrote and published years ago, it's about a high school student asking out the girl he's had a crush on since 8th grade but there's a twist..if you'd like i can give you a link to the google doc,so you can weigh in.
Oh sure, I'm working on my own book as well so reading another's work as it's being made would be incredibly interesting -

darrenhabib posted a message on Should Wizards make commanders that can break color identity rules? The problem at the moment is that when making 4 or 5 color good stuff decks, the commanders are an after thought just to get your color pie. Thrasios, Triton Hero + Tymna the Weaver or maybe Ramos, Dragon Engine are chosen not really on their ability to hold a deck together, but merely to get your colors, plus they are very good. So anything that brings originality I think is a good plan.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
I think that would be rather fun and as long as it's balanced like your Voodoo Dude the sure. But your Leader of the Meek is broken as, so as long as it wouldn't be overpowered. -

BaronCappuccino posted a message on Do you see this as a funny story or an example of bad sportsmanship?Only in Commander would this even merit a discussion, and it's one of the worst consequences of the, I don't know, social contract, marketing strategy, casual focus, not quite sure what, of the game. I love analogies, but I struggle to think of one. I've seen it mentioned a lot. Somehow in Commander, the first one to win doesn't count because if you're not losing, you're too competitive.Posted in: Commander (EDH) -

So! I am from Munich, Germany. I am 27 years old and go to grad school for Philosophy&Economics in a small Bavarian University town called Bayreuth, focusing on empirical labor economics, development economics, and stuff that has to do with data. I started playing around Scourge/8th Edition and never stopped. Built my first Commander deck (Bladewing the Risen) after lucking out and grabbing a From the Vault: Dragons for the actual MSRP at my local game store. It sucked though, and my first real deck was Riku of Two Reflections. Been playing nothing but Commander ever since (and a bit of Limited every now and then). Riku is still my flagship deck, but now has to compete with 13 other decks for play time. I also like playing other games (Age of Mythology, Dominion), seeing other countries, working out/dancing, and good books. Happy to be here! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

But that's not a "Lands Matter" decklist, that's a Big Mana decklist. There's a huge difference.
The only land that I can look at in that list and think "Yeah, I'd want to pull that back into the battlefield over and over again" is Bojuka Bog, with Myriad Landscape being a close second.
Why does the Land Matters deck not have a new land with an effect? Why don't they have the creature that etbs as a land (Arixmethes)? Why doesn't it have any repeatable way to sacrifice lands in order to pull them back out again in the graveyard colors? Why is only the commander on the front of the box on theme?
There is so much they could have done with this concept (a few more Retrace cards (Monstrify), "Sac Lands" (Sylvan Safekeeper), more ETB land cards/sac lands (Ebon Stronghold as a low power card), a little bit of Dredge support (Drown in Filth)). Heck, Drown in Filth, Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant, Borborygmos Enraged, and other cards like that would have made me actually have to worry about what lands were where and would have made for a very interesting precon.
As it is, this is just a stupid battlecruiser ramp deck that someone could easily put together by themselves. I'm not even upset by the value, just how shoddily the deck is constructed according to the theme.
I think this will be a singles round for me, sadly. I'll probably pick up Lord Windgrace, Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow, and Reality Scramble and that'll be it for me.

I'm building her. Ninja Tribal is a go.

Does Bitter Feud sound as hilarious as I think it does?

Add to that that you can give any important creature the ability to survive wraths with Totem Armor (I.E: Totem Armor your win con then Wrath of God for a clear board to swing in with) and she becomes even more busted to hell.
AND THAT'S NOT EVEN considering the fact that her -7 is basically build your own Bruna, Light of Alabaster.
And all that mana ramp/protection becomes even more ridiculous when you throw in The Chain Veil.
Saheeli is obviously powerful just by looking at her, but Estrid is powerful when you think about her.

Don't know if you all remember me or not, used to play about two years ago or so and posted on here regularly. Kinda getting the EDH itch again, so figured I'd stop by and say hello.

My paints are thin enough to cover the walls, thank you very much.
You seem to think I, and other players like me act like we or our deck choice of Combo is some "Glorious Master Race" when the reality is that we want to have fun with EDH and we have fun by playing combo decks. You act like we pick Oddjob when really we're the ones getting kicked out of groups because we aren't playing Phantom Pistols on Waterworks on Halo.
If fun is your measure of worth of a player or a game, you need to sit down and analyze the statement of "Fun is Subjective". Multiple times, if needed.

Indeed. Not my playstyle, but I can see some potential there, anyway.
Tymna pairs pretty well with Kydele. Attack three opponents, lose 3 life, draw three cards, then you can tap for 4 colorless mana to play the cards you just drew.
Not game breaking, but I don't think any pair of Partners will be.

K-T only gives you one card; "Each player may put a land card from his or her hand onto the battlefield, then each opponent who didn't draws a card." You get to Explore every turn, opponents just get to choose which half is better for them that turn.

That's why everyone gets annoyed by the Boros Legendaries. There's so much design space in Combat that's being unused (Dictating combat, cast on combat, yadda) that could be awesome. Heck, a Boros (Guild, not color) leader with a permanent Sunforger Effect would be awesome, or simply a "Whenever you attack, deal X damage to a creature, where X is the number of attacking creatures you control. You gain X life" or anything.
Everyone kind of wants Boros to remain the Combat Color. No one wants that to mean every legendary comes stapled with Doublestrike + Keyword (usually Vigilance or Haste).
