I used to run Dakkon Blackblade as my cmdr, the point of the deck was to get Lich or its variants + Repay in Kind. Deck ran Academy Rector and Omniscience plus every broken card to make this happen.
White gave Lich protection/tutors, black the lich effects/tutors. Blue was counterspells.
It was a fun deck to play. Nobody got ticked off when they died ti Lich, because so many things can take it out and your dead dead.
I also ran life swap variants/hatred because well your gonna be at 0 anyhow. Axis of Mortality was in thete too.
You also need a sac outlet. Its been ruled in the c18 notes that you get it back when the player controlling xantcha is killed.(i dont agree with that ruling but wth do i know) Also this is imho a casual rakdos commander, locking people out of the game w contamination ect really goes against that social contract, and there are way better commanders to do that if thats your game plan.
*You dont want this card on the side of a sac for profit commander or anyone you suspect is packing greater good. You need to be a little sneaky and political with a deck like this and not care about winning so much. I dont think that piloting this kind of deck would be easy, but sure seems like alot of fun.
Edit: Ok I get why it goes to your control when the player controlling it dies. Had the wording not said "gains control of it." and had "if it were to enter the battlefield, an opponent puts in onto the battlefield instead" it would be exiled when they died. As worded, they have control of it, that control ends when they die, regardless if you ever controlled it in the first place. Kinda wierd but its one of a kind.
I think bloodchief has a nasty rep, at least where I play, of making you public enemy no. 1
If you can discard thier answers it should help wrap the game up nicely. Esp before an Obliterate resolves.
I won't use it for now, but finding the deck list I got going is heavy control/enchantment route so I may toss it in soon.
Found a couple more funny things that might work well Cannibalize rfg for 2 (sorcery) and grow Xantcha. Silent Arbiter Phyrexian Scriptures for clearing the board, but could backfire and is 1 turn slow.
This is what i think I will be orderering, plus the Esper Deck
More excited to play these against one another for fun. Pity the guy who gets Jund fatties...
So far looks like Enchantress is strongest to me in terms of synergy/playability. Izzet also decent for theme. I am probably going to buy the esper one because its the most intriguing and pick up singles from rest. Jund...well its got Xantcha and Varchild. Doesnt seem that great to me, like wizards forgot what they were doing...
If I were to rate them today so far (not all spoilers/lists out yet I think) id give :
Esper 8/10
Bant 7/10
Izzet 7/10
Jund 4/10
Thats how I read it, also not a judge. Anytime it is to enter the battlefield its replacement effect has it go to an opponent of your choosing.
Also from earlier, if you control the aura and the aura creates the effect, you profit. But if the aura says 'enchanted creature gets : x' then it gives the effect to the creature(and creatures controller)
I dont know if Errantry works, need a rules lawyer for that. Wildfire Repercussion and Blasphemous Act et al
Curious to see what others are thinking about this new Legendary Devastation + regeneration ect.
Yeah so far only Xantcha is making me want to build a deck. It oozes flavour, 5/5 for 3, reverse voltron endless whispers kinda feel. Coud use that land (forgot name) to yoink her back, equip and harmless offering her back. A stretch but this is a fun commander not competitive. Need some earthquake effects to clear the way too.
I think the best "suicide black" deck for me is Marchesa v1
Its all about the aggro and paying life to bring down others.
Chainer is a great commander too, where life is a resource to manipulate. Tymna the Weaver could do this style too and would be fun/decent
Sure does look like Dig, but the question remains, Why the @#$% didnt they use the new awesome art? Another UMA fail.
MM17 > UMA aka Should of been M25

Languish
There is probably more but cant think atm

Ideas for more punisher style

1) Vizier of the Menagerie
You have alot of creatures, always nice to get a little extra, like Oracle of Mul Daya but critters
2) Lifecrafter's Bestiary scry 1, pay G when you cast a critter/commander. In green this is the nuts for deck manipulation/draw.
