In terms of an ideal clonery/thievery general though, I'd suggest Lazav, Dimir Mastermind. Obviously it doesn't pick up some of the cards you want to play, but he works well with a few clones in the deck and scales well to most metas. He's a lot of fun.
2nd Lazav
Lots of fun, many directions to take, clone/theft commander.
For grindy games my vote is Abzan,(B for tutor/draw/creature control, W for removal/recursion, G for ramp/recursion, fatties and draw) pick a one you like. If Karador is your thang then decide what type of deck you want. Inf combo, gy recursion/attrition, goodstuff value ect.
Now the most important thing about building a commander deck.
Playtest, tweak, play, tweak more, repeat.
Decks dont come finished, they take alot of subtle and deft changes. Try not to get discouraged and if something isn't working, change it little by little.
Commander is a ramp, draw, engine format. Find a balance that works for you, id try 8-10ish ramp spells/effects depending on how big you want to go, and 6-9 ish draw spells/effects. There is no set in stone answers for these, every deck is different.
Then toss in some removal, mass and spot.
Then add in what you want your deck to do.
In each instance I try to keep a 'curve' in mind. 2 mana ramp is awesome, 1 mana dorks better. Scale these down. Example*
4-5 dorks, 3-4x 2 mana ramp, 2 or so 3 mana spells (kodamas reach ect)
Then follow suit with removal and draw.
Hopefully you have a functional deck after all this then keep playtesting, tweaking, searching for other synergistic options, tweaking, playing etc.
Miraculous Recovery is Instant and really good because it adds a counter.
Repeat reanimation / raise dead could be Tortured Existence and Phyrexian Reclamation
The new Vampire / Wizard reanimator from C17 would be awesome too. I forgot it's name and am Mobile.
About the Journey, its got a best friend in Steve and others.
Its flip side is ramp colour fixing and instant speed(reactive), reusable reanimation which is very very rare.
Its not auto include in many decks, so-so here. I agree $5 is $4.50 more for a card that will not impact standard or modern, but its good.
Also Vona's Hunger its bloody instant! Hits all opponents, likely 3 and has a huge impact late game. Play this.
Cataclysm will often do the same result. Or Balancing Act
Having this in white is sweet, gives options for Boros to play Protection + any number of disgusting board wipes.
Sure does look like Dig, but the question remains, Why the @#$% didnt they use the new awesome art? Another UMA fail.

Dragon throne is terrible to me because it is based on power of equipped creature.

Havnt updated it, still rockin it but dont get to play much at all.
