Rip our sweet prince, P.Engine. As much as it takes away some of our power, I believe this is a necessary move. I won't be playing the Painter's Servant + Grindstone combo but it will be fun to see it in my meta.
With the new spoiled card, I think this deck has a decent shot to become tier again. It give us defensibility without costing a card.
What you guys think?
I'm still on the fence about it. Mainly because I wouldn't know what to cut. How often can we get it online and how fast? Does this count as our removal and we ditch bolt? Even though bolt has been severely weakened in this meta, I don't leave the house without them.
Having our own Baleful Strix sounds sweet and can definitely be tested in a RUG shell.
I'm seriously thinking about homogenizing the 3 separate mono-Blue cEDH lists I have into a cohesive mono-Blue Core list, with the separate pieces of my Teferi, Memnarch, and Fblthp lists being an interchangeable set of cards that's included in the deck-box. This would allow me to play whatever cEDH mono-Blue list I'm feeling like playing without having to drag out my binder and make the changes every single time.
I can get behind this. Traveling a little lighter and not having to reach into the binder would be great. I only carry 3 Decks (check the sig) in Ultimate Guard Boulders and 1 Ultra Pro Clear Deck box for Dice/Tokens. All of this is inside an Ultimage Guard 400+ Arkhive and makes transport buttery smooth!
Check in when you can, bear. I hope you are doing well and work through challenges successfully.
I don't know if any of you follow/watch NBA basketball, but Damian Lillard is definitely Force of Will. Now I have to find someone that will do an alter.
Nice. There is always a part of me that wants to cut the Pili-Pala combo but the little scarecrow always comes in clutch. I love staring at the dark colored Lorwynn foil. Chaining Muddle the Mixture and Drift of Phantasms into the combo is a great feeling as well.
The card that I'm currently keeping an eye is the inclusion of Mystic Confluence. I like its utility and the fact that it can draw cards, but it just might be too expensive for this deck. If that's the case, then I expect it to be replaced with a cheaper counterspell or Cryptic Command, for nostalgia's sake.
I can support this move. Although it does have utility, I like being able to interact faster in this deck.
I cut down my counter suite to be below 2 mana in order to abuse Isochron Scepter better when I don't have the combo. My latest cut was Misdirection for Negate (full art...yum). Obviously I kept Force of Will.
I hope all Memnarch players have a happy Thanksgiving. I will be picking up a foil Mox Diamond and a GP promo Chrome Mox this Friday during TCGplayer.com's big sale. I will finally have the full list of rocks complete.
Glad to hear it. I still have yet to slot in Paradox Engine. I'm going to have to sooner or later. Good to hear you are enjoying the list with the Jewel. Its nice to take a break from the cut throat list and play a list we enjoy. I have been running one of my favorite cards of all time, Dominating Licid. It's slow, but goddamn that card embodies what I like in MTG.
I can completely relate to this kind of tweak for the deck. I recently turned my list into a "secret" Memnarch deck (I got the idea from the command zone a long time ago). I switch between having Kami of the Crescent Moon and the Memdaddy at the helm depending on my mood. My version of the deck spits mana rocks out quite fast so I do not have to always play Kami turn two. He is usually used as a last resort when I have nothing to play. It also works great against unsuspecting opponents. They see Mochi (Yup, Kami's real name in the lore) and think I am piloting a grouphug/combo deck. The deck can make infinite mana so easily that by using draw X spell or something like Staff of Domination I can still win with Memnarch at any time. It has been a blast to play. My personal favorite thing to do is play the deck back to back, one with Mochi at the helm and if they beat him they get a chance at the Memdaddy himself.
I also was able to purchase a Marsh Flats and Godless Shrine, and slotted them in by taking out a Plains and a Swamp. Obviously having these lands makes the deck a little more consistent and being able to get Godless Shrine when looking for "a Plains card".
Nice pick up. These are great lands to have.
Have you thought about Dusk // Dawn as a wrath effect? It also provides double duty with it's Aftermath side. I've really enjoyed being able to wrath the board and keep my critter (very similar to Retribution of the Meek). Toxic Deluge could also be a card worth considering. It hits Athreos but being able to take out indestructible creatures has been great. Feel free to check out my Athreos thread in my sig.
That's not a bad idea, bear. Unfortunately, I actually ended up cutting this combo. Making it cheaper does make me want to take a good look at it again, though. The deck has been fully embracing the hatebear theme and it has been performing well. The only relevant infinite combo currently in the list is the Karmic Guide/Reveillark combo.

A lot of new toys and ideas to discuss. Can't wait until we see it all.

Time to homogenize those lists, am I right?

Definitely one of the better combos for the deck.

Traxos, Scourge of Kroog loves this guy and its in its colors (I mean...)!

Update is coming. Thanks for being patient.
