May 29, 2019arcane7828 posted a message on The End of an EraVery sad, this has been my main go to site for anything new in mtg. I may not have agreed with everything or everyone, but it is what it is. Thanks for the years of information, excitement and wonder Sally. May you ever be found in the way way back machine or some such toodles.Posted in: Articles

There are foils and non foils, bundling and non-bundling. Heh.
The soldier pose leonin are adults i think, the children are the cubs, ajani is playing with one.
The soldier pose is just to reference the original art
But yes i did get the child soldier vibes initially, which was unfortunate (or not it taught me not to jump to conclusions) -- not a jab at you just my actual reflections
This would be very awesome!!
I am actually mildly excited about the whole IP , platform divergent thing that this TWD SLD represents.
They can actually build whole TCGs out of other IPs using the MTG resource system.
Its like the old scrylist magazines (terrible stuff) where they try to play decks from different TCGs together (it normally made zero sense since the resource systems were totally different)
But MTG's resource system is pretty open. You know how Maro has these sessions where they fit characters to the colour pie (I think he talked about it in some article about how innistrad was build from the ground up) the resaon for this is that magic's colour system is more psychological profiling. So many characters can fit in. The only weird part in terms of immersion is the sorcery card type. But even then it is just an instant with different timing restrictions. Tech can easily fall into artifacts, and we already have vehicles and equipment. Myself I have always fantasized about wuxia (chinese martial art storie) characters made into mtg cards and in a way portal 3 kingdoms was just a crossover into "romance of the three kingdoms" back in the day.
So this development is both intriguing and scary.
So I really like this development... but I still hope Magic's core lore will survive.
Negan's design is sickeningly close to his character so that is a home run.
And Michonne's two walkers are also pretty canon so thats cool too.
I guess there is a certain appeal to it being a real card... tho i dun really care how they do it.
Overall i like this product, not sure if i would buy it but i like it
Garfield the cat? Garfield and Odie? I mean we have cats and dog types already... mighty weird heh
Those who are supposed to leave will leave, the rest of us will truck on.
So no Legacy is not going to die, with or without the RL.
no you are not alone, I completely agree with you. And I think the ban mania is a toxic mob behaviour. The worse part is it is a self fulfilling prophesy. Once you start banning, all bets are off on future meta, since literally it BECOMES untested territory. Thats the funny part about everyone blaming wotc for not playtesting. It does not matter if they did, the environment changed.
This crowd that calls for banning, you see them spreading into other formats. Thats sad.
That said, I am now on the ban wagon for bannerism. Ban Uro I say, if only because so many cards have been banned already, why should Uro be spared. Ban Uro.
Sure there will be much anger at first... but then ppl realised they don't need or don't want to buy those cards anyway (there is a reason they are cheap ya)
You must remember most of the RL cards were worthless before some joker thought it was a good idea to buyout moat.
The different between cards of that era and now is... there is literally a ***** ton of cards now heh
And there you have your answer, you need a bounce effect to switch colour. To make that insignificant your landbase or decklist needs to change. Being no land type tied to it these are not fetchable... which in itself is a massive drawback. There is a reason why painlands were cheap before fomo crept in
Don't get me wrong, i like it, i like the utility. But power creep? Eh a little i guess, to me it looks more like lateral innovation, which i like.
