May 29, 2019arcane7828 posted a message on The End of an EraVery sad, this has been my main go to site for anything new in mtg. I may not have agreed with everything or everyone, but it is what it is. Thanks for the years of information, excitement and wonder Sally. May you ever be found in the way way back machine or some such toodles.Posted in: Articles

It would definitely slow you down some turns, since you are going b/w mabbe ghost council for the top of your curve
(mortify will be good against the enchantments out there, but maybe in the SB? most games you prbably just want to roll over your opponents)
mechanic wise Hellbent looks good, alot depends on the implementation though and I like the Avatar of Discord already =)
also it is an instant! if played as a block on your opponent's turn and it survives, its as if the critter has haste no?
erm eventually...
still its not too far fetched, they do not have to reprint the old sets just add new blocks to the current pool
1. Loxodon Hierarch
2. Dark Confidant
3. GIfts
4. Ghost Council
5. Remand
6. Giant Solifuge
7. Sakura Tribe elder
8. Moldervine Cloak
9. Jitte
10. Kami of the Ancient Law
Hmm this list is hard to make =) there are many good cards that help to shape the environment
ermm my pockets gonna hurt though
is it good for the play environment? I think so (really can't tell actually, best case: it brings in a new deck, changes environment, worst case: it breaks the environment or does nothing to it)
Is it good for my pockets? not really.. but different ppl have different depths to their pockets
I think Rakdos is the most fun (personal taste here)
Simic has lots of potential, but Azorios will probably be the most played as the style is very well established (of course we have to see if the card pool will support it ;p)
hmm so for competitive? Toss up between Simic and Azorios
Still I agree that there will be splashes =)
I think once Dissension comes out and after a the dust settles, it will be interesting to see, out of 10 guilds, which ones are represented =)
Leyline of Singularity + Hunted creatures
http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=35835
but it looks a little different.. still probably can pick up a few tricks from it... but the thread looks a little dead?
[edit]
Hmmm my bad... its just inactive for a few days
Kami of Ancient Law, or the Celestial Kirin come to mind... but these are white... mass destruction (something like nevinyrral's disk - plague boiler??? would be nice, but it would take out your Leyline of Singularity as well... hmmm)
You might want to start considering spells or critters with the haunt mechanic since so many of your dudes are going to die as well
....hmmm but reading your (Rendog) post properly.. you said this deck is about tempo and smash face... grave pact feels a little controlish
I am iffy on perplex it is strong early but a really weak counter late game. But it can transmute, so if you have plans for that then its not that bad =)
maybe 4 remand to help you hit early mid game
and instaKill may have a point. The Rakdos Hellbent mechanic seems to be based on an empty hand... Unless it is just Rakdos in terms of guild colours then its fine I guess =)
Still it is a month?? before Dissension comes on =)
actually torrent of stone might be good... but maybe not too many.. 2 - 3 (4cc is a little high, the alternate cost is good, but you need to be able to splice it)
Hmmm actually why not guerrilla tactics? with all the discard going around, it definitely has value main deck and in worse case it is 2 damage to creature or player and still at a relatively low cc
.... I love the fuzzy logic of this forum .. =) to see what I mean see this:
guerilla tactics
I misspelled, but it can still find close match ...
how about volcanic hammer? it is a sorcery, but it is versatile
3 damage to player or creature
