You cant judge the quality a single card like this when you have not seen the rest of the set. If the set contains something like Master of Diversion, you could use it to tap any chump blockers and hit your opponent for 7 with Zurgo, then the opponent still has to deal with it.
7 damage AND forcing your opponent to waste mana and disposal spells for 5 mana is a good deal in my book.
Audacity is quite limited in it's applicational use, but it depends how much you want the DAW (Digital audio workstation)to do.
If you do not own an audio interface to record through, it may be worth investing in an M-Audio MBox.
The M Box line of hardware comes packaged with a light version of Pro Tools, which is one of the highest rated pieces of audio software around.
Alternately if you use mac, I think the Garage Band software is either very cheap or Free.
Here's a list of DAWs and their strengths/ weaknesses:
Pro Tools - Great for recording and editing Audio - not a good MIDI interface
Logic - Mac only - Good all round - can be a bit awkward to use.
Cubase - Good all rounder - comes with less high end plug ins pre-installed than the above 2
Ableton Live- Good for sampling, looping and electronic Music - Not a great audio recorder.
Garage Band - Cheap version of Logic
Audacity - Free and stripped back - can get the job done but will require extra plug ins to be found and installed, last version I used did not have nearly as much functionality as any of the above.
I see people are voting for Sign in Blood, but not for Read the Bones?
Having Scry 2 added for 1 makes it a much more diverse card in my opinion, was curious why other people don't seem to rate it? I suppose having one less mana in the pool for your drawn cards could be a drawback.
The themes I am most looking to use go as follows:
White: (undecided on best course for white - Which is why it is a bit messy)
Blue: Counter/ Bounce/ Milling
Black: Aggro/ Necromancy/ Pain for Gain
Red: Burn/ Aggro
Green: Mid range control/ Mana Ramp/ Giant creatures
I'm possibly over simplifying things, but I was trying to make the cube as flexible as possible to allow for experimentation.
I agree that the one drops could use refining, things like Satyr Hoplite ended up in there simply because that was what I had in my spares.
I completely forgot to put in Doom Blade I will have to alter that tonight!
I think i would also like to include more instant speed red burn cards in place of Spitting Earth and Clear a Path
The cube is for both multiplayer and mini tournaments, I have included a number of multiplayer focused cards from Conspiracy which do suffer in 1v1 match-ups, but I do not think they suffer to badly.
Well Dragons are inevitable, A) because that seems to be the entire basis of the block's story and B) they re-printed Crucible of Fire in M15.
In addition to some cool Dragon cards, I want it to feature fetch lands and wedges or shards - that's not too much to ask is it?
Hi,
I am thinking of building my first cube, and am aiming for a Peasant cube for monetary reasons.
I was just wondering, what is the prevailing opinion on cards that have previously been printed as C/U but are now printed R/M, such as City of Brass and Sol Ring?

Yeah diverse was probably a stupid word to use, I just meant it adds depth/ interest to the way the card plays.
Having Scry 2 added for 1 makes it a much more diverse card in my opinion, was curious why other people don't seem to rate it? I suppose having one less mana in the pool for your drawn cards could be a drawback.
Cloudfin Raptor, Jackal Pup, Elite Vanguard, Experiment One, Vampire Lacerator, Carnophage, Putrid Imp, Diregraf Ghoul, Golgari Thug, Stonewright and Stormblood Berserker.
I plan to start buying these cards up to flesh out the low end aggro of the cube, which cards in the list would you guys cut to make room?
