Treasure Cruise has to be banned, and soon. It's obscenely broken and is utterly destroying the online meta. UR Delver the second most successful deck and only growing? Jesus H Christ.
And now Burn is starting to splash blue just to play it...
Absolutely farcical that a card like TC could get past R&D. It's destroying the Modern metagame. It should have been 5UUU at the least.
At least5UUU? Even a single more coloured at 4UUUU would make it categorically worse than Concentrate, and I've never seen concentrate played. So i guess what you're saying is that you want draw 3 spells to be completely unplayable? And R&D are the ones who are clueless?
Hyperbole isn't going to help anything.
One might argue that this card would still be pushed enough to see play at 6UU, and be more or less ignored at 5UUU. Cool heads please
I still have not encountered JA storm. With Eidolon MD it seems like we start in a good spot, but do we need any sideboard slots to enhance the matchup? Something like Anger of the gods could get rid of all the mana dorks but I'm not sure if that, or any other additional SB cards are needed. Thoughts?
For great justice. It is looking diverse, with a couple items to watch (as usual). No one should be crying ban: if there is dominant strategy or card we should be trying to conquer it as a matter of course. If it proves unconquerable and warping then the ban will come in time. But there needs to be a significant amount of evidence that innovation is unable to overcome the strategy/card.
Probably too narrow. I think most creatures you want to hit with remove soul will also be answered by spell snare, and spell snare is always a tempo play. Likely spell snare will be better in decks that want to counter creatures earlier than cryptic command can be employed.
JA storm also taken hold in my playing area, to add to the anecdotal pile. Last week modern night JA storm showed with 2 pilots, both going 4-0. There was some hate prepared for it, but no one had the play experience to stop it. In particular I brought my burn deck as this eventuality was quite foreseeable, but I ended up not getting a shot at the storm deck after dropping a close first series to merfolk (spreading seas continues to give me nightmares after losing 2 games to it). I hope this week to avoid the spreading seas and get in against JA storm.
TC especially makes discard a lot less valuable, both because it refuels the hand and because it is itself fueled by discarded cards. It gives a lot of decks a better BGx Midrange matchup, especially the blue-based combo and tempo decks that don't have a lot of spells that are individually more powerful than others. Even once Burn and BGx Midrange stabilize in the metagame, I expect we see a permanent decline in BGx just because some of its matchups have worsened across the board.
I would like to suggest that we can draw an even bigger conclusion at which the effect on discard hints: TC is strong enough to make ALL Uxx decks better positioned for 1 for 1 trades. Simply put, any deck that plays TC will trade 1 for 1 better in whatever form that takes. For much the same reason as discard getting weaker, counterspells (especially remand) in particular have been made stronger.
In the case of BGx, it will suffer on both sides of this. Counterspells (a tool jund/junk lack) are also going to be stronger against it. BGx will get hit from multiple directions as a result of how strong TC in particular is. Discard weaker, counterspells stronger. Their attrition game is severely hampered as a result.
Not that this will be a bad thing in my book, I just hope the pendulum doesn't swing too far towards blue.
I have to ask, which card advantage spells is it you are asserting u/r delver were sticking before treasure cruise? I'm curious because I don't know that I saw any card advantage spells in delver. Maybe grixis delver playing bob?
Yes that is completely broken. Producing mana a la noble hierarch while also being a prodigal sorcerer for G is certainly broken. This would probably have to be 1G at least. Even then it's a strictly better prodigal sorcerer (arguably not a bad as the sorcerer is overcosted I think).

Considering the card cost is 1, you are really getting 100% more cards with TC over DTT.
2 Thoughtseize
1 Despise
4 Gitaxian probe
4 Remand
3 Treasure cruise
4 Serum Visions
4 Meddling mage
4 Tidehollow sculler
2 Zur the Enchanter
3 Honor of the pure
3 Oblivion Ring
Looks like an interesting place to start.
