I had posted this list over on the Modern forums on The Source, but thought it would receive much more input and attention over here.
I based it off of two different t8 Lists from SCG IQ's and have been tinkering with the numbers since. It works by basically just jamming all of the infinite combos you can manage into one shell, and letting your opponent try and decide which one they are going to attempt to stop, then pulling off another. At one point, I was running 2 copies of Jace, Vryn's Prodigy instead of Eternal Witness, but Witness is just so very solid. The Glissa is currently being tested, but I haven't had enough games to give reliable commentary on her. The slot she's in is one I usually had reserved for Huntmaster of the Fells, which as a workhorse, pure and simple. The Horizon Canopy has come out and back for a copy of Verdant Catacombs before, to up the fetch count up to 12.
I wasn't originally planning on going go GP Detroit, but I managed to get my hands on an Affinity 75 and am down to making the final decisions on sideboard slots. I'm running the winning list from the Louisville Open last week with a few small changes, -1 Etched Champion and -1 Dispatch main, +1 Master of Etherium and +1 Steel Overseer. My sideboard is currently two cards different, -1 Dismember and -1 Chalice of the Void:
The deck feels good, but I'm still torn on the changes I have made. With Disenchant and other removal coming in from UW Eldrazi, I wanted to overload slightly on hate, but am still not sure 3 Ancient Grudges are good enough for the inevitable mirror. Thoughts?
