Anyways, the goal of the deck is to get Narset out fast. She protects herself better than I thought she would. The hexproof is super- relevant for many things. I try to manipulate the top with cheap spells like Brainstorm,Ponder,Long-Term Plans and so on. One hit of the top with Narset, getting four free spells can actually be enought to get you ahead for the rest of the game. Obviously I love Superfirends and that's the reason for all the planeswalkers. But I gotta say that they sure give you value. The deck is built to function without Narset as well. That is why you will see more mass removal spell than you normaly would in this type of deck. Other lists I've see run an insane amount of counterspells, which is weird considering the commander has hexproof and you don't wanna be flippin' counters of the top?
I would love some feedback even though this is a Sliver Queen thread (all hail the Queen)
Hey, sorry for not getting back sooner. I still play planeswalkers but I have changed it to a Narset Superfriends deck. The reason being my meta just knew this deck in and out and tore me a new one just for playing it. I caved and changed it to playing walkers free of the top I`ll read up on the discussion here and see if I can contribute
BUT.. if you want to get left in the dust, check out @Temporal_Archmage's CMDRDeck video: http://youtu.be/PjA7Q56OHdQ talk about leaving people in the dust!
Hahaha I spent a lot of time on that and traded for most of it but still it was expensive. But I love having a pimped version I have some updates that are fairly similar to yours and I'm currently testing City Of Solitude to battle an increasing amount of counterspells in my meta
Archive isn't that good for me, it's a typical win more. Ugin's ultimate usually wins the game on intself, no need of drawing extra 7 cards. The biggest problem of archive is that it's a dead draw and, without the support, it's simply "pay 5 mana, do nothing".
Btw what do you guys think of Karn Liberated? For me it's not the deck for him. I've played him for a long, long time and find him rather underwhelming. First of all, first ability is extremely unefficient, second one is good, however it's -3, so it leaves him on poor 3 loyalty and the ultimate doesn't go off even with doubling season on board and it's rather unfun one. I don't think he's worth it anymore, he's great for mono decks, I love him in my xiahou dun, the one-eyed and azusa, lost but seeking decks but I think that 5c deck has way to many better options to deal with artifacts :).
I think I totally agree about Archive. It is exactly that: win more. I would much rather run another Sphinx's Revelation variant, or even something like Necropotence.
On Karn, he's an automatic include, in my opinion. Yes, he is pricey, but there is too many factors for his inclusion, at least for me. For one, he is on the only things I run to deal with something such as Blood Moon or Contamination. Also, in my opinion, 7 to deal with ANYTHING isn't too bad, especially considering he sticks afterwards. His plus, in my opinion, isn't too bad. When facing a control player, or even when the game comes down to a 1v1, his plus can be very devastating to an opponent. And although I usually choose to avoid activating his ultimate, if you happen to plus more then four times, and maybe minus once, his ultimate is one of the biggest game winning ultimates. Although, you also seem to run a lot less planeswalkers then I do, so that is understandable, too. What is the consensus for the rest of you?
I think I see where you are going with this, Rarian. You want to make the deck faster and more cut-throat to battle an aggressive meta? Which is why you need fast, powerful and efficient cards that do a lot. Like I said, I really like your deck. But, personally, I never even thought about cutting good ol' Karn, Liberated. Even though you are battling fast decks you need some bombs, and I think Karn is just that. The reason for this is that he does something really powerful, and that is to change the way the opponent plays the game. In Magic strategy, if you can turn the opponent off his game pace or even change the way he plays the game then you have a massive strategic advantage. Karn comes down and removes the biggest threat. Now the opponent has to choose to not play his next threat because you can remove it. He also needs to consider which cards in his hand he needs to exile. And when you start to use Karn's +4 then the loyalty tends to increase even though you still use the -3. I don't use his ultimate beacuse it's not accepted in my group, but like Trav_Ragnar said, it's a sure win. Also, I only drop him on a crowded battlefield if I have too. And what usually happens then is that I exile the biggest threat and the opponet attacks Karn. So usually that buys me a turn and removes a threat.
Well, Conflux is extremly slow. I wouldn't like to draw it till 15th turn of game probably, so it's not that good choice imo. Omniscience is good, but only with academy rector and chandra ablaze's first ability does nothing cause we have like 3 or 4 red cards in the deck :).
I will comment more in full when I'm not on my tiny iPhone But I think your list looks really good!
Scroll Rack is amazing with Narset, Enlightened Master too. Putting an extra turn, doubling season and any walker on the top is usually gg. I've got to test it.
How Narset works for you guys? Every time I play I find her more and more amazing. She's so good with 'on the top tutors' like imperial seal, vampiric tutor and enlightened tutor that I'm even considering adding mystical tutor to this deck either. Putting obliterate or jokulhaups on top with the trigger on stack usually means good game (cause we first cast jokulhaups and then the 2 or 3 other cards).
I've also added mystic remora and fact or fiction yesterday and played 6 games. While facts were obviously good I'm surprised that remora is SO good it's almost unbelivable. It drew lots of card, for each counterspell, for each mana ramp spell or stone I drew the cards. 4 mana are way to much for my opponents to pay. I don't even have to pay cumulative upkeep more than 2 or 3 times to have the amazing value with this card. Seriously, test it guys, you won't regret :).
I will take your advice and playtest Mystic Remora next time. Narset has been awesome actually! Yesterday she got me Time Warp, Tamiyo, the Moon Sage, Plateu and Sorin, Lord of Innistrad in one swing. If you are able to set her up like you said with tutors or Scroll Rack then she is worth it if you only get to swing once. My opponent: "I have an answer for her..oh, wait! Does she have hexproof?!" That ability is not to be underestimated, especially in my meta where they don't expect a creature from my deck (at least yet).
Did some testing with Timetwister last night and it was meh... It could have to do with the fact that I drew mostly lands. But I had Scroll Rack out and replaced my entire hand and left a fetchland on top to shuffle next turn. So considering that I was able to dig far down my deck with this combination it was nice.
What do you guys think about Timetwister for draw? I know its expensive but I happen to own one. It is graveyard removal as well as a draw 7. I played Wheel of Fortune but didn't like the discard except for when my hand was empty obviously.
I find it hard to discard with Dack Fayden. I almost never want to discard what's in my hand. What are your guy's experience with him?
I do not run him for that exact reason. Also, there are rare times when there is an artifact I want to steal that will forward my gameplan. And for his emblem, I have only spells that target to destroy. And as far as I know Dack's emblem does not replace this effect. The permanent still is destroyed or exiled if you are the controller or not.
Fact or Fiction is a card I have considered. That was because of Jace Architect of Thought and his ability. That always seems to give me an advantage. With FOF you get to pick between five cards so that's even better. It is a one time effect though. I tend to like CA in enchantment or artifact form. But this card is really good.
Another card to consider is Invoke Prejudice. Apart from the steep cost of four U that makes it almost unplayable in this deck, it has a racist tone that I don't like. But the effect is surtainly good for creatureless decks.

Oh, my bad. Glad Top is safe though
Hmmm..it was the duel commander commitee I think. Am I wrong about formats here?

I saw Rarian mention miracles because of Scroll Rack and Sensei's Divining Top and I was wondering whether Temporal Mastery is a thing?
