didnt they say no H.P. stuff ? the stadium looks kinda "inspired" by that
Yes Maro said it wasn't HP inspired but you can see card after card they had planned for crossover versions, so he is blowing smoke. This card is the Quiddich Pitch, the new UG Prodigal Student is Hermione, Codie is the Sorting Hat and there are a slew of others. Its obvious it was designed with HP in mind then they didn't get (or didn't want) to get the property rights for those.
Almost every magic school in fiction (heck, most real-life colleges) has a stadium, Codie and the Sorting Hat are both supposed to be mascots, and Zimone is one of the oldest tropes around. Please, please read more than just Harry Potter.
I guess this is what happens when people only watch popular movies. Seriously, thinking Harry Potter invented... smart kid at school? Sheesh.
I’m not sure reverse image search would really cover it. It’s of dubious quality even with something whole and unedited and that’s not what happened here, it’s part of a composite image.
And I’m sure the staff does care about magic art. You can care about something without knowing the totality of all created fan works of it.
Here's a question: is Strixhaven the name of the school? If so, we don't actually know the name of the plane? Or is the plane named after the school itself?
The first post says “Arcavios” if I recall right, so I presume that’s the plane.
Eh, honestly those all feel like stretches, especially when one considers the color pie aspect. And as I said I would sooner call Iroas another side of Ares than Athena. It’s not like Ares was completely one dimensional.
I’m aware of that part of Athena, but I didn’t really get any idea of wisdom or the like from Iroas. I would sooner call them two sides of Ares (or perhaps not even a side when it comes to Mogis).
And I thought Esika was the Idunn expy and Reidane was more like Freyja (her war aspect, at least)....
Why not both? Ephara, Iroas and Thassa are all Theros versions of Athena.
How are Iroas or Thassa versions of Athena? I’m not even sure Ephara really is. Honestly plenty of the gods don’t line up with proper mythology so it’s not like the Norse plane should be different.
It’s a god that's a 5-color legend and the 5-color side cheats out the gods and the creature side makes all the gods mana dorks
I mean sure if you’re looking for the slow fair way to activate the tree.
Or just want to play into the God tribal theme. That said I’m not sure how much fun that theme even would be, not a lot of overlap between the three categories. Also makes me wish some of the Kamigawa spirits also had God, like the Myojin or Maro.
Honestly such a baffling take. Every card, not even Rare/Mythic Rare, can’t be good enough to break into eternal formats outside of Commander, and even every one of those rarities still really shouldn’t be good enough to see play in that. That doesn’t mean it’s bad.

Not really. *confused* Honestly it's pretty different from most magical school takes because of the emphasis on real world subjects.

Planeswalkers can’t be compleated. Hopefully that’s the end of them messing up this plane.

Anyways God tribal is neat. We need a proper five color God... and then I recalled the new one today due to the other side she has.
