Tonight the Mr. International Rubber contest weekend ended, and I had a fantastic night with my hubby, our friends, and visitors at showtunes and disco night. Was an absolute blast
FYI my activity level is likely to be low the next few days. I should be able to keep an eye on things, but don't expect bountiful content from me until next week.
Unless I'm mistaken the case against B_E is that he's not contributed and just barned people, particularly me. That's fair but it doesn't make me want to move my vote off of M_E.
And how insane has Chicago been this week after the marriage equality thing in Illinois?
There was a celebration en masse, with engagements announced left and right on Facebook. The mayor and some news stations showed up at one of the bigger bar's party, which was pretty cool. I've been fighting a cold, have a busy week at work, and a busy weekend coming up, so I've been a lame dork and stayed home.
/barn Kraj on ME. The worst thing about him in my opinion is when he said my posts were bad but did not back that up with a vote. Talk about not wanting to offend.
Vote mirrorentity
Earlier you said you weren't voting because none of the existing cases were strong enough, even though the case on ME had been well established. So... what made you change your mind?
However, I have issues with your post. You mention that Prophylaxis introduced the idea of avoiding RVS voting as a Scum tell you and that is fine. One issue is that you are taking your newly learned information and throwing it aside because others just happen to disagree with you. The other issue is that B_E is new. Since B_E is new he is more likely to commit to Scum tells that don't others normally wouldn't because he doesn't know the game. This looks like you trying to bus a Scum member and then realizing that you would be caught because others don't share the same opinion as yours.
Vote: dkingsland967
Why do you prefer voting dkingsland here over B_E?
I agree with waiting until Nny contributes til you lynch me.
If you are town this is no way to contribute. You have to put yourself out there and decide who you think is mafia and push for their lynch. Don't just sit around and wait for your lynch, unless you are scum.
To put it in a somewhat silly visualization - I don't need to necessarily go all Mortal Kombat and rip out a person's heart from their chest to feel it beating in my hand. Sometimes, it is enough to just touch the skin at the right point, remain quiet, and feel the pulse. That's what I'm trying to get a feel for here. A pulse. A sense for the rhythm, the way another's internal life dance's in contrast to my own.
This is the best analogy I've seen in a long time. LOVE. IT.
Kraj, are you voting Mirror because you find him more scummy than DK now or because your read on DK has changed? I agree with your point on DK's role PM, as well, and check my last point on #139.
My read on DK has not changed. After I reread ME I wanted to vote him. I did not reread DK before changing my vote. Rereading his posts now, he's definitely my number 2.
@Kraj, TMCT - Basically all I was saying was I'm giving the mafia the benefit of doubt of spotting that all players are Walker in the pregame posts and therefore the first nine will all say Walker (mostly on the back of TMCT first post asking everyone to declare town which is fairly pointless) leaving the last three to show up being the ones 'not Walker'. It wasn't a serious post. I guess in hindsight it could have worked but I'm not convinced that the odd a walker over Walker (BE wasn't the only one to do this btw) indicates scum at this time.
I was mostly curious to see who would respond and what they'd say, but my problem with this is the bolded portion. He says his post wasn't serious, though the rest of his explanation seems like he gave it quite a bit of thought. Jumped out as me as possible indicator of a lie. I didn't think it was nearly strong enough to really attack over, but was interesting enough to discuss.
I like mirrorentity's content level, which in my experience is a town tell since I can't count how many games I've seen scum quietly participate just enough day 1 while the active townies hang each other. On the other hand, I don't like a lot of what I see. On the other hand, based on my notes so far I could justify voting almost everyone who has posted. So there's that.
I don't like this post by Kraj. It hedges a stance on mirrorentity and then says that he could justify voting for almost everyone who has posted. It reminds me of what Asenion did when he replaced in as scum in TMNT. He basically said that everyone had been scummy that game and he had no less than five strong scumspects. Doesn't give me good feelings when players generalize that everyone has been scummy because it looks like they're looking to set up flexibility in their vote justifications.
Fair enough. If it would ease your mind, I can give you the details of why I felt that way.
@Kraj - your vote is on Dkingsland with me - what were your reasons for putting your vote there? You just said that you like the vote on him. What about it do you like?.
Interesting question. I liked your vote on him partly because you had a similar read to me, and also because even though Burning Earth was very voteable, the votes he did get looked really bad and I liked looking at a bad bandwagoner rather than adding to the wagon.
I voted him because post 46 seemed like it was trying too hard to seem like a townie reaction to the role PMs; and his vote on Burning Earth in 60 was god awful.
Earlier I said I liked his content level, but on rereading there's a lot of blank/fluff posts. In about 25 posts there are at least 5 instances of directly or indirectly declaring himself town (posts 4, 11, 44, 47, 71). Posts 38 and 39 look like trying to get chummy with an attacker. I especially dislike posts 57 and 64, where he says BE's posts are "pretty bad" but doesn't vote (and hasn't bothered to vote anyone yet despite being very active during RVS), and then when Nny calls him out on that he immediately votes in 64, calling BE's posts "garbage" but offering no additional reason.
She's coming across as very self conscious and nervous, trying not to rub anyone the wrong way.
About Rhand, I dislike a lot of his posts; I would not argue with anyone who says he looks scummy because he does. But my impression is he's genuinely scumhunting. My gut says town.
@Kraj - this is my fourth game. One completed, one I'm not active in, another I am active in. I don't consider myself experienced, but I'm working on it.
Thank you, that helps my read on one of your tells.
I should probably get around to watching Walking Dead first. Soon. What are your thoughts on mirrorentity?
Yes, you should. It's amazing. Be patient when the pacing gets really slow; they're just taking time to develop characters and make things more meaningful when the action hits again.

I have a problem with this explanation (other than the fact that it doesn't make any sense). Can anyone spot it?
Unvote, Vote: Void
I would be on board with a Void wagon, though.
Still not feeling the B_E case.

Kinda crappy, actually. Meh.
But thanks for asking

I didn't say his content was good, I said I liked his content level, i.e., that he was posting regularly.
Why do you prefer voting dkingsland here over B_E?
Word.

lolz
I already love this game.
DCIII, would you describe yourself as an experienced player?
Yes. Or more accurately, I lean towards agreement that it's a townslip as opposed to simply being observant.
Why do you say that?
Ug. Hate this post. Also hate the other votes on him. I like the vote on dkingland much better.
Vote: dkingsland
Also, if you haven't seen the Bad Lip Reading of Walking Dead on YouTube, you should.
This. All of this.
In zero games (duh).
