I think you're misusing the phrase "Jumped the Shark." It seems like in your mind, as mostly a vintage player, Magic has become stagnant...there are precious few cards from each set (if any) that find their way into your vintage decks. And I can't argue with that. But since I don't play Vintage, that's hardly a concern.

Reading your Brainburst article, I just got to say that if Magic were to introduce a 6th color...now THAT would be jumping the shark. Jumping the Shark means a specific act that serves to make sure people continue using
(watching, playing, etc) a product that was in fact, past its prime. Like Fonzie jumping over a shark on a motorcycle, the introduction of the character of the Great Gazoo in the Flintstones, or even Crystal Pepsi, these can be seen as jumping the shark.

Specific cards or sets could be thought of as jumping the shark in Magic. Personally, I don't think any of these are, but some examples could be: Legions (the hook of nothing but creatures), the reprint of Erhnam Djinn (oh boy, the fattie is coming back), or Mindslaver (look at me! I'm doing something wild).

Personally, I think that Magic is still super-fun. But then I'm mostly a limited player, and I like the challenge of Rav-Rav-GP drafts.

I did enjoy your videos. I think it was very cool to see cards from each set next to each other in chronological order. Very fun. I disagree with your assessment, but then again, I think unless you're a Vintage player, you're gonna probably disagree.
