RoastedChesnaughts posted a message on Commander 2016 4 Colour CommandersIs it just me, or is this "Announcement Day" method a horribly dull way to introduce products? "Oh, hey, here's the next block name. Oh, and the name of its second set. Oh, and commanders are 4-color. Also some Planechase stuff and a Duel Deck." No enthusiasm, only 1 art between all the stuff, no set symbols or previews, and way too much at once to really process? I'd be more hyped by a single one of these announcements in full than by this train of "meh".Posted in: The Rumor Mill
On topic: 4-color should be interesting, really exited to see how they address the color pie identity of missing only a single color. -

Athelas posted a message on Eldritch Moon - Cards You Want to SeeNobody actually said red burn spell?Posted in: Baseless Speculation
Come on, no shock, no lightning strike, all we have is fiery temper (conditionally good, but generally it's very weak) and exquisite firecraft. Standard needs those.
No good mono-red means meta is really slow and let's black-centered decks get away with pain spells. Human decks are the best aggro while still no direct damage just means it's not gonna keep meta in check.
It's also annoying how white doesn't get oblivion ring type of card at 3 cmc - we either have creature only or 4cmc. It just forces Control to be black, because otherwise planeswalker resolving is just game over most of the times.
Even spell like fated retribution would be enough.
Also madness cards are lacking something. I tried everything to make them work, but deck is just hard to get going properly, and most of the times we end up with 3cmc bolt, 2 mana sorcery worse anticipate and 2 mana forked bolt -

enollava posted a message on Eternal Masters ConfirmedThey aren't going to do any special frames on the foils. They are going to have the style they display in FOW and wasteland. That said, I am dying for spoilers to start. I just pre-ordered 2 boxes today. I can't wait to draft.Posted in: The Rumor Mill -

This guy gets it.
I don't necessarily agree. There are some cards that only existed in old frames that I might want in the newer frames in foil (because Commander doesn't have them in foil and it's not FTV-worthy).
I'm not absolutely against the idea though, because at the same time there exists older cards that didn't even exist as a old-frame foil before (since foils weren't present from the start).
In my opinion, nothing beats out planar chaos frames though, just look at the difference. Too bad that frame isn't ever likely to ever return though. -

Opt
A functional reprint of Tendo Ice Bridge at uncommon.
A black spell that reads only "Destroy two target creatures".
A mono green Grisly Salvage/creature Mulch/smaller Scout the Borders. Basically 1G to dig four cards for a creature or land and dump the rest in the graveyard.
A counterspell-version of Abrupt Decay for UU
"Advanced" madness cards. Cards with off-colour madness costs, cards with no mana cost that can only be played for their madness cost, cards with madness costs that do not involve mana (Madness: pay 2 life, Madness: Sacrifice a creature, etc.)
Another cycle like Ainok Guide.
Low CMC modal spells that combine a maindeckable effect with what would normally be a sideboard effect. -

Mental Thrull 3BB
Creature - Thrull Warrior (M)
When Mental Thrull deals combat damage to a player, you may pay 2 life. If so, look at that player's hand and choose a nonland card from it. That player discards that card.
IIW: Cards that make good decks better

If you are worried about that, then just build a tier 1.5 or tier 2 deck that will never be banned, like Bogles, Infect, Tron, etc.

Wizards dropped the ball on this one. IMO Treasure Cruise was never oppressive in the first place. Delver decks are very popular but that's just because they're cheap to make. They aren't even that good. Pod, I figured would come eventually, but I didn't think it would be now. I can get that one at least. And DTT? Wow...just wow...and their reasoning for banning that was awful (it would slot into delver). Personally I think that in Delver would be an appropriate nerf, not like it really needs one.
And for all this the only unbanned card we get is...Golgari Grave Troll? Granted I have thought this should be unbanned for a while, but that's because it will do nothing. At least give us Visions so maybe control can be a thing or something.
I advocated for Bloodbraid Elf being unbanned too, but in almost glad it didn't now. Green good stuff decks don't need help.

Good luck to all you guys, I will judge in a couple days depending on how many entries I get.

Thanks for the reminder! I'm pretty bad at wording cards and somehow I still don't know how to word auras. I will keep that in mind. And glad you like it!

Also, Sacred Mesa is insane. The ability to creature as many tokens as you want every turn for only 2 mana per token is great, even with the sacing requirement. White Sun's Zenith is a solid token maker, making cats to boot. And Karoo is good in some situations, but for most decks isn't better then basics, especially since you have to return an untapped land.
