I think the B/W is the way to go for zombies. Tidehollow Sculler and Wayward Servant are critical. Way to ping the opponent, gain life, and take care of threats.
Carrion Feeder is a solid sac outlet, and only works if you can take advantage of it. Tidehollow Sculler + Carrion Feeder permanently exiles a card. It is just too good. Gravecrawler also works well with Carrion Feeder. Undead Augur is a necessity.
If your playing Cryptbreaker, you should consider Lazotep Reaver. As a turn two play, it activates Cryptbreaker, drawing you an extra card. This works with Vial too, so Vial might be the way to go. Also makes Augur better, since auguar + another zombie on turn 3 gives you 5 zombies, so a board whip lets you draw 5 cards.
Drawing cards early is important, since it allows you to run Force of Despair as viable removal.
He goes on my Krenko edh, but i dont think fits on the modern. Judith works a better option than him.
Maybe theres a chance of one more ? Maybe a Skirk one on MH1
Pashalik works with token and non-token goblins (and is a goblin himself.) Having token creatures trigger his effect is a big upside.
Shinobi would see play if Baleful Strix was in modern. Baleful would be excellent already in UBx, and would often go unblocked if attacked with. Would allow Shinobi to swing in, get you extra value, and return Baleful Stix back to hand to replay. Snapcaster is not bad, but more prone to getting blocked, hence leaving Shinobi lose some of its value.
Yawgmoth is not a good card for Aristocrats. It's OK to have expensive reset spells (Return to the Ranks, Rally the Ancestors) and cheap sac outlets (Viscera Seer, Cartel Aristocrat) - your plan is to chump block/sac early, then play your reset spell and drain them out later. It's not OK to have expensive sac outlets like Yawgmoth - then your plan becomes...play a bunch of dudes early, then play Yawgmoth, sac your board, and die to attacks because you have no blockers and Yawgmoth's ability ate all your life.
Disagree. Your forgetting the -1/-1 counters. Getting Yawgmoth down turn 3 in a sac dec is not that difficult, and if things go right you can trigger the proliferate same turn as well. Undying.....Eldritch Evolution....Blisterpod....
Force of Negation is pretty good. A Negate that costs 1 extra mana, but also exiles the card if countered. Early game, you can just exile another blue card in your hand if tapped out to counter a lot of stuff.
This will see some competative play, but I don't know if U/W control wants more than 1-2.
Hasn't been really discussed, but Teysa Karlov seems like the funnest card to try and build a deck out of.
Nice, so she's back. And this time 4 toughness, I guess she wore some additional armor to be bolt proof. Tempting to build a BW tokens deck with her in it.
This arguably isn't an upgrade over Merfolk Looter. We are really getting to the bottom of the bin with Ravnica cards now. The effect on this card should have been a simple card draw, not a loot effect at least. I would rather have something similar to Sage of Fables at Rare in this set.
1G
Instant
Costs 1 less if it targets a creature you control with a +1/+1 counter on it
Target creature you control fights target creature you don't control.
This card is exactly what we have been looking for!!
I mean it is a slightly better Mutant's prey, and that hasn't really seen any play. But this might be enough to see a little play.

Some sort of Black Devotion/aristocrats build?? I mean Black Devotion has been played in the past.

Nice little start to a deck right here for great synergy.
Hero Of Precinct One
Teysa Karlov
Abzan Ascendancy
Voice of Resurgence
Could easily go Aristocrats or more pure tokens from this base

Yeah, an 'okay' 1-drop in standard merfolk, otherwise bulk. I think the adapt cost could have been a single blue, especially on a rare.
