that's odd... Doesn't TES and Belcher have a hard time against dedicated permission/discard?

And doesn't permission/discard really not get a hulk flash player hot under the collar?

Now, wouldn't that mean, considering the type of dedicated hate required to even touch the hulk flash player, that the kinds of decks out in force due to hulk flash are going to steamroll the less powerful combo decks out of the format? And does it seems like decks of the TES and Belcher variety, which are very quick(though not as quick or as consistently so as hulk), are only running a tiny bit of discard... while hulk flash can play a ridiculous amount of control? It would SEEM that hulk flash would scare the other combo decks out of the format, as it's basically solidarity that can go off on turn one. Do you disagree with that statement?

And lets not forget... while you may never have played them, whole archetypes are being destroyed by this combo because of the hate it will induce. You can say goodbye to all the decks that didn't fair too well against discard before... oh boy, if they didn't have decent matchup against discard to begin with, they don't even have a place in your shiny new hulk flash utopia. They either lose to discard, or lose to hulk. Not good odds. Gee, what decks are those? Non-permission Board control. But that's alright, board control decks are for losers. Rifter, truffle shuffle, etc. Gone. You can't play these decks in this format anymore, if you want to win that is. And yay! Permission decks are back! Unfortunately, they'll be very lonely, as they will either be countering red death's annoyances or a menacing flash. But that's ok too, I guess. Oh, and things that destroy discard... like stompy/weenie strategies... they won't be a problem anymore i guess, even with more permission to soften the blow. Because hulk will be an autoloss for them, unless they, surprise, play enough hate to pass themselves off as either fish or pikula. So fish, pikula, MUC, and hulk. One big happy family. Welcome to your new legacy! Where every deck dedicates around 20 (SB and MD) cards to beating one deck!

    =D

Jokes aside, you are probably right jank... this'll all blow over after GP when everyone finally realizes they'd be much happier not playing their land decks they've painstakingly developed for the past 8+ months, and instead play hulk. They'll even thank you for showing them the light!

for the non-vintage side... delay + teferi = always hard counter.

As for Legacy... Solidarity looks like it could use pact of negation very well, since it can help it combo out without pitching a card to FOW that might be useful. Legacy land decks just got 5 shiny new toys(edge of autumn, horizon canopy, tolaria west, dakmore salvage, glittering wish). Eggs just got some as well (tolaria west, edge of autumn, summoner's pact). I could see a dredge land being used in some braids and stax builds to act as extra crucibles(that indeed, you don't need to pay mana for, and aren't casting), to sac every turn to keep the stax engine going. That's just how I see it...

Newsflash: No one cares if you didn't like the article, so quit whining like a bunch of 5 year old brats.

I swear to god, too much of community is filled with self-important humorless gits. I think we need a purge. I suggest we use fire, for the irony.

While it may be true that a sense of humor is occasionally lacking around here, there are better ways to express that sentiment.

Once again: this is a little humor comic we put up as a Mini on a day when no articles are published. No "real" articles were harmed in the making of this Mini.

    Lunar Impact BBUU
    Instant
Place three cards from the top of your library face down on the board.
Target opponent chooses one at random.
Play that card without paying it's mana cost, and remove the rest from the game face up.

    Quote from Red_Shift
That would net you only one new card from your library, and would open space for powerful killer combos.
I think the card is much better and very well balanced as it is.
The card is just lovely, we should make a petition for Wizards to include the card in a future set, really, I haven't stumbled upon such an original and neat card for a long time. It really makes me want to play with the card.

It only looks like it would, but there isn't really a 2 card combo that could abuse it anymore than the original text could. 3 card combos will have a way to break this, but then, same goes for the original, so in truth there isn't much difference there. The only difference is that by seperating the clauses and adding the "put card on top of library" thing, all the sudden it's no longer a free CA engine and hand fixer, even with clockspinning. So all that's left is suspend and tapping stuff.

    i love this card!

    could write it like this:

    Perpetual Blooming :1mana::symg::symg:
    Enchantment
    Cumulative Upkeep green mana
Your opponent skips his or her turn.
During your draw step, put a card from your hand on top of your library and end the turn.

Doesn't really matter where the triggered ability originates from... it's a triggered ability, and it goes on the stack. So, it can be trickbind'd. "Whenever" and all that...

A tiny bit of dissynergy between two crucial deck components seems atleast justified. They lose their signets too, and enchantments/artifacts that could be a real problem also die (magus is one way to get out from under a glare lock, and it's one that causes a massive shift of momentum).

^ you spelled it the same twice.

Extirpate is not a problem for this deck:
1)R/D = you don't get locked out of the game because anything that's vital to securing the win will eventually be brought back in for the end.
2)There are too many win conditions to stop anyway, so extirpating a win condition doesn't do anything but buy the other deck some turns.

And that doesn't help them, since this deck is going to be stronger in the late game regardless.

Like he said, the true enemy is LD. No counters, no loam, no way out against an LD player... outside of sacred ground, of course. But that's a weak answer considering LD will run removal for problematic permanents along side its creatures (or, WITH it's creatures, heh).

    Nice article!

I'm always skeptical of any TEPS build that doesn't run mox (and I guess, bloom too now).

Oh, and slide = YES. First deck I ever played with at any sort of competition.
