silentstormraider posted a message on Solemnity and Bounty of the LuxaEven if you can't put a flood counter on Bounty of the Luxa, you will still draw a card.Posted in: Magic Rulings
The draw card isn't dependent on the counter being added, it would have to be worded something like "if you do (put a flood counter on) draw a card". The only thing the ability cares about is if you removed a flood counter or not.
Hope that helps. -

void_nothing posted a message on Solemnity and Bounty of the LuxaYou complete the action to the best of your ability. In this case, you draw. Next precombat main phase, the Bounty still will have no counters, so you place none and draw the card again. Essentially Solemnity traps the card in the draw mode.Posted in: Magic Rulings -

Tyrantslayer10 posted a message on BG Ballista SnekI think I'm in love with this deck. When I get back home, ill have to sleeve this up and play it. And considering all creatures but the Snek is a construct....maybe metallic mimic? Its kinda slow, where Overseer is just better. I think it would be funny.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern) -

Steel Overseer would be very good here.
Mephidross Vampire is very slow/bad and basically unplayable, just add the 4th Hangarback.W and A.Worker.
If you do this then 16/20 of your creatures are colorless making Ancient Stirrings (can find Basilisk Collar) pretty much a strict upgrade to Traverse the Ulvenwald without needing to wait for "delirium" (you want to cast your cantrips turn 1/2 if possible). -

rayo posted a message on Gifts Ungiven BiovisionaryI hope you know that what you're trying to do is pretty janky (meaning you won't get this any further than kitchen table magic viable).Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
That said I think Parallel Lives is overkill as your only way of creating tokens is Mechanized Production (which you only play 2 copies of). I would replace the Coursers with Tireless Tracker as Clue tokens + Mechanized Production are actually a wincon or card advantage engine.
Mirrorweave is another interesting card to consider with Biovisionary. -

Kahedron posted a message on Cloning Flip CardsPosted in: Magic Rulings ArchivesQuote from ISBPathfinder »So assuming I have a Homura, Human Ascendant and an opponent plays a Clone of it, what would happen on its death? What about if they clone a Erayo, Soratami Ascendant (can it flip?)? I am just trying to get an idea of how clones work with flip cards.
Really I am interested in Homura who has a graveyard interaction but I am also interested in flip effects that happen in play. Just trying to understand how clones work with this stuff.
Unlike with DFC's there is nothing stopping a clone copying a flip card from 'flipping'.
With clone Homura, the game will see Homura has been sent to the graveyard and will trigger accordingly and return the clone card to the battlefield flipped. In most cases this will not make much difference to the clone unless you choose to copy another flip card like Homura or Erayo where you will get the flipped version of the card so you would end up with Homura's Essence / Erayo's Essence.
If you chose to clone Erayo, Soratami Ascendant you also get her triggered ability so if 4 spells are cast in a turn she would also flip and become Erayo's Essence.

So basically we agree about the people who are overreacting. I just don't happen to be one of them.

Ok, now this is crazy and I'll have to put in some Reflecting Pools to pull it off, but after a Mirror Entity activation, Atarka gives everyone double strike! After all, my army of Wolf Elves also happen to be Dragons.
1
If you activate Mirror Entity while you have Elvish Archdruid, Wren's Run Packmaster and a Heritage Druid out, the following things happen:
- you can tap any 3 Wolf Tokens already on the battlefield for 3 mana because they are also elves.
- all Wolf tokens already on the battlefield increase the amount of mana you can make with Archdruid... also they get +1/+1 from him too.
and maybe the best part...
- all your elves have deathtouch because they are also wolves!
Here's what I whipped up.
4 Elvish Mystic
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Heritage Druid
4 Nettle Sentinel
4 Elvish Archdruid
4 Dwynen's Elite
3 Mirror Entity
3 Shaman of the Pack
2 Wren's Run Packmaster
2 Regal Force
1 Craterhoof Behemoth
2 Summoner's Pact
4 Chord of Calling
3 Collected Company
1 Lead the Stampede
Land (15)
4 Cavern of Souls
4 Gilt-Leaf Palace
7 Forest
4 Essence Warden
1 Pendelhaven Elder
1 Phyrexian Revoker
1 Scavenging Ooze
2 Choke
2 Reclamation Sage
1 Krosan Grip
2 Lead the Stampede
1 Spellskite
