Well its pretty much like thunderbluff except with living wish, no gigapede, no krosan tuskers, no tops and etc. However i really like the living wish idea it makes your deck turn versatile so you can search for answers when needed.

Dirt plays a lot differently than Truffle Shuffle. Most noticable is the living wish, which makes the deck slower, however the heavy LD element makes up for it.
Truffle shuffle establishes control a lot faster, as it digs very wells w/ top and all of its shuffle effects- however dirt will find its win condition a lot sooner.
I played truffle shuffle over the weekend and i could control the board, though i couldnt find my win conditions fast enough to keep them down.

    4 Sinkhole
    4 Funeral Charm
    4 Living Wish

    4 Loxodon Hierarch
    4 Eternal Dragon
    2 Bane of the Living

    4 Wasteland

Bob's P/T issues get shored up somewhat if you replace the Infests in the board with Fire Covenant.

Would it be worth it to run 1-2 Unearth? It seems like the deck wants more beefy creatures, though there are only so many to run, Unearth could potentially somewhat solve the problem.

Are Plague Slivers a good lategame answer with virtually no drawback? Or is its mana cost too far out of reach?

This deck wants to be running 4 hymn.
I'm not sure if 4 Skullscorch or 4 Wrech mind is better...
probably drop the rite of flame and dark ritual

i'd try out chainer's edict and some more board clearers, like decree of pain which you will almost always cycle

Verse Solidarity yes, pillar is better. Verse Iggy pop nether work all that great.

Sirocco is better, it makes them have to deal w/ it instantly, whereas w/ the pillar they can play around it and get bounce to deal w/ it.
However, if iggy pop will be present use pillar.

Have any RG builds tried using SKarrg, the Rage Pits?
Being able to give piledriver is tech against decks w/ chump blockers, and lets it survive against Silver Knight.

    EDIT:
Other than against pikula, is there any reason not to run Mogg Salvage instead of Shattering Spree?

On a completely different, though related topic, whats the best strategy for MBC when in the mirror match or a similar deck chalk full of discard?

I usually use my discard for the first couple of turns, then keep it in my hand after that to give me better chances of keeping business cards in my hand after specters and hymns hit me. Then side out my discard after game 1.

    What do you guys go?

Has anyone considered running a more swamp based landbase with cabal coffers? Then you could run Helldozer (I know, not original) to accent the land destruction in the deck while giving it a possible finisher. Both cards can be part of the wish board, and then you could also a single Maga, traitor to mortals for a wishable consume spirit.

I had always thought that StP was too counter intuitive to what Pox does, as both players life totals matter very much w/ its symmetry... and stuff.

I've seen some intresting Pox buils that use green for pernicious deed, regrowth, and life from the loam.
I'm still not quite sold on the inclusion of LftL, but nearly everycard in Pox is useful to regrow, especially Pox and Hymn.

With the inclusion of green you can also make good use of genesis and eternal witness, and reccuring pox is very viable as Pox generally makes longer games.

Thoughts? Should I make up decklist and try it out?

What cards would you want to shuffle back into thier library? I dont think you would want to put everything back, would you?

I'm guessing that you would leave things like meditates there, and make sure I put the fetchlands back into the deck. Not sure about other cards though.

    I played a deck at the second Duel for Duals this weekend, going 4-2 (lost the last round to a friend playing Solidarity, the nightmare matchup, which was the third time I had to play the ****ing thing all day), that was part Rabid Wombat, part Train Wreck and part Dirt. A bit of the first two plus a much speedier clock/the best conglomerated answers, and the latters sans the rather unsynergistic LD elements and other assorted jank that have no business in a pure control deck that means to hold down the fort until board dominance is established. Nonetheless, it seems appropriate to post here. Here's my experimentation;

i never said it was dirt, i said that IBA posted in this thread saying it was "part dirt"

    ...its obviously not dirt

Anyhow, back on subject, ways to give dirt more of a clock...

rather than splitting your efforts between control and stomping them faster (in which case you would want to use phyrexian negator anyhow) i would say to focus more on taking control of thier hand with more discard, which will probably be best found in wretch mind, which is your next best bet sice its the only other 2 for 1, and when most of the spells in solidarity are essentailly all aimed at doing the same thing, being able to choose what they discard isnt as important as making them discard in bulk.

that said, i think you would want to save your life for being able to make the most of skeletal scrying against solidarity w/ coffers

Has anyone tried out nightcreep? I know there are better things out there but not everyone can afford legends cards. It is cheap enough that you can recast it after it being remanded, is an instant, which is more than you can say for haunting echos.

Aye, though we're not all posting there are a lot of lurkers keeping tabs on this thread.

I'd like to know if you and IBA ever had your match, and if so what were the strong points of the deck.

    hey, i'm Throst, yeap.

i've played magic for around 5 or 6 years now, i mostly play legacy, and am starting to get into standard.
i play mostly green decks, i currently play a trinity green variant, the rock, a casual pirate deck, and for my standard deck i'm thinking of doing a UG kudzu-meloku control deck... though am still playing aroudn with the idea.

    so yeah.....hi!
