Instant (R)
As an additional cost to cast Ancestral Discovery, exile X cards from your graveyard.
Look at the top X cards of your library. Put one of them into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in any order.
Looking at the ruins where the ancient war took place made Zenia realize the key to win its own battle.
IIW: Something secret or sneaky.
ArchSinccubus - Well, this is underwhelming without replicate. And very powerful with replicate. I like it.
scarbo - This is incredibly powerful. You should at least remove the trample.
willows - Amazing! I love it!
Chemtrails - This is what scarbo should have done.
iphanx - Interesting. I don't see why would someone keep more than one counter on this.
Winterspring - I'll go with the green one, as it feels so perfect on the color wheel.
willows - You again? Well, this is even more interesting! Well done!
Am Shegar - I think you could move the cost to 1UU, and still be good and usable.
Atogaholic - This is not very related to the challenge. Still, is boring.
Necarg - I'm pretty sure this card will be printed on BFZ's block.
RedKid43 - This is basically Draw X cards in a more powerful way. Nono.
ManyCookies - Good and balanced, but a bit boring.
WINNER - willows, with most of the entries being HMs.
NEXT: "a long time ago"
Sorcery (R)
Destroy target creature. You gain X life and draw X cards, where X is that creature's converted mana cost.
Nicol Bolas regards the Talon Gates as his finest trophy and visits them as often as he can to relish his biggest victory.
IIW: Draw X cards.
ArchSinccubus - I love when my opponent's enchantments and Planeswalkers enter the battlefield tapped. Also, Kismet and Loxodon Gatekeeper say this is undercosted.
Necarg - This could be cheaper because the restriction makes it in practice worse than Silence (or Orim's Chant), even when it does more. Or you could just remove the restriction.
This was a hard decision.
WINNER: Necarg, for going better with the challenge (and having the best IIW).
NEXT: Magic Origins for Villains.
Artifact (M)
T: If Chaos Orbital is in the battlefield, flip Chaos Orbital onto the battlefield from a height of at least 62 miles. If Chaos Orbital turns over completely at least once during the flip, destroy all nontoken permanents it touches. Then destroy Chaos Orbital.
IIW: Order, please!
Planeswalker - Tibalt (M)
|+1|: Discard a card, then draw a card.
|-1|: Tibalt Unleashed deals 2 damage to target creature or player.
|-2|: Destroy target artifact or land.
|-4|: Take an extra turn after this one. At the beginning of that turn's end step, you lose the game.
{4}
IIW: Sacrifice an artifact.
Creature - Insect {U}
Hexproof
Platinum Ant can't be blocked.
The only way to find them is to feel them first.
[0/1]
Also, another old design of mine, "Birthplace": Much like Auras, they are a type that add not much to rules by themselves, but they can be interacted with using the type. Also, like Auras have an enchant ability, Birthplace must have a birth ability. "<Creature Type> birth" means "<Creature Type> spells you cast cost 1 less to cast."
Tree of Wisdom
Land - Birthplace {U}
Druid birth.
When a Druid you control becomes the target of an spell or ability, sacrifice Tree of Wisdom.
Land - Birthplace {U}
If Underground Lair would enter the battlefield, you may sacrifice an untapped Mountain instead. If you do, put Underground Lair onto the battlefield. If you don't, put it into its owner's graveyard.
Goblin birth.
Oona's Palace
Legendary Land - Birthplace {R}
Faerie birth.
Mountaintop Nest
Land - Birthplace {R}
Drake and Dragon birth.
Whenever you play a Drake or Dragon spell, Mountaintop Nest deals 1 damage to you.
Castle Barracks
Land - Birthplace {M}
Knight birth.
Untapped Knight creatures you control get +0/+1.
IIW: Sacrificable equipment
scardo - Tibalt itself is a devil, right? Oh, well. The card is so situational, that it would only probably see use as sideboard. Although powerful when kicking in, none of the abilities has impact of its own, which is sad.
admirableadmiral - While I like the idea of eventually transform a planeswalker, this doesn't feel as a Planeswalker. This could have been easily a creature, an artifact or even an enchantment.
Winterspring - Simple and basic, but a bit boring. It basically add you an additional card in hand plus flash (I think) for two mana.
TacticalCelebrant - I see dead planeswalkers. Well, I will disregard the Hideaway thing as it doesn't feel elegant at all. The abilities are good. I would make the second one a +1 too with only looking tha top card and making the exile optional. That way you don't rely on the first one to add loyalty and getting exiled card.
Winner: Am Shegar
Next: tiny creatures // lands without T on them
Planeswalker - Ral (M)
[+1]: Target player draws a card, then discards a card.
[-1]: Ral of the Izzet deals 1 damage target creature. Tap that creature.
[-5]: You get an emblem with "Instant and sorcery spells you cast cost 1UR less to cast."
{3}
IIW: Hideaway in nonlands.
Arrogant Mercenary BB
Creature - Human Mercenary (U)
Protection from you.
"Just let me do my job."
[3/3]
IIW: Hideaway on nonlands.
Sorcery (R)
Affinity for Elves
Search your library for any number of lands and put them onto the battlefield. Then shuffle your library. Exile those lands at the beginning of the next end step.
IIW: Hideaway on nonlands!
Artifact (R)
T: Add 1 to your mana pool.
Landfall - Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, until end of turn, if you tap a permanent for mana, it produces mana of a color of your choice instead of any other type.
