I think that Abundant Growth is nice as mana fixer and cantip, but I don't really think that we have troubles with the mana base at all considering (at least in my list) the deck is GW with a R splash.

I think that Sythis, Harvest's Hand is not that strong here because one of the advantage of playing this deck is the ability to force the opponent to draw a lot of useless cards towards us (removals for creatures). Otherwise, Courser Kruphix would be a must-include.

4x Solitary Confinement in a big NO in my opinion. It is indeed a strong card, but it locks your hand preventing you from drawing UNLESS you have multiple ways to refill your hand.
===> 2x yes, 4x no in my opnion.

    • Simian Spirit Guide: the dex of this forum isn't updated, so sorry: it is my fault. Still, this deck need a non-creature way to have 3 mana on turn 2.

Dude, you are looking from a wrong side, modern is wild, no room for invention unless it is suuuuper smoooth

    Totally agree with your thoughts.
I was wondering if there is a way of spicying it up, like making a toolbox Enchantress deck deck, with 1-of Rest in peace, Freed from real(serious doubts with this card other than a deck with lots of tutors) and other side-board cards, maybe even Blood Moon. Idyllic Tutor + Sterling Grove would allow to find these cards easily but clunkily I believe.
Crab Umbra is a card that allows Sanctum Weaver to combo, costs only U and the plus side is that at least it gives Totem Armor, and cycles if you have enchantress effects. Any thoughts?

    Hello everyone,

I have been playing in MTGO with a list that, imo, is powerful and has potential to snap very improbable victories. I have been winning a lot of matches, specially after I updated my SB.
First and foremost, i dont use any resounding stuff, but i consider using a single copy of Resounding Wave, because it's versatile. The way I can survive until comboing is with Astral Drift, MVP of mainboard.
My wincon is a single Seismic Assault maindeck (You can throw 5 lands at their face and then get them back with Shadow of the Grave, or just draw the entire deck and throw at their faces) and one Approach the second sun sb. I am thinking about adding new Jace to have another wincon. Approach can be cast earlier with ramp, so it is a little independent of New Perspectives, and win matches independent of life total or any crap.
My reasoning behind this deck is to have only good cards with a decent powerlevel mainboard, and there's rarely other way to win other than comboing. sometimes you can stick street wraiths and shefet monitors to win, but thats not really common, although when you combo, you can stick everyone out and protect them with Astral Drift.
Narset, Parter of Veils is ggs, so I'm thinking about adding a Resounding Wave or a Magmatic Sinkhole sb. Discard and counters are very annoying matchups. Some of these we can resist thanks to Astral Drift, but the Snapcaster oriented control is a pain in the ass that i havent solved yet. theres a plethora of cycling cards in modern now, and we have to pay attention to what modern horizons brought.
This deck is also better played with fetchlands for thinning purposes. Bicycle lands are all fetchable.
If anyone has better ideas, please share so we can make this deck better. its really fun to combo and have 35 cards in hand, but its a infinity of clics.

Hello Narset's people, I would like to discuss the new card Echo of Eons, do you think it will replace day's undoing?
What about Teferi's Puzzle Box? it seems very strong with Narsets and Thiefs.
I read mtgsalvation is closing. does anyone know any other good forums? Thank you in advance.

I'm not completely sure Echo of Eons will replace Day's Undoing. On the one hand, it's pretty loot-friendly, and we do have some looting. On the other hand, I suspect all the maindeck and sideboard graveyard hate currently in Modern won't go down completely post-Modern Horizons (too many people experimenting with Life from the Loam decks and Wrenn and Six, UR Phoenix getting 1-4 new cards and not much in the way of hate directed at it, Gx Tron won't get injured enough by Collector Ouphe), the looting doesn't always come, and 6 cmc is in an awkward spot in the Disrupting Shoal curve.

I've tried Teferi's Puzzle Box instead of 2 Day's Undoing, and I love it. It locks people with Narset, Parter of Veils/Notion Thief so much better, and you can generally kill your opponent before they can find instant-speed hate. I haven't really missed the lower number of pitchable cards.

Sadly, I suspect MTG Salvation is the best forum for Modern, and it may not even be close. The sub-Reddits often have extensive discussion for specific decks, though.

In the meantime, has anyone else seen those 2 Mono-Blue Narset Midrange decks in today's MTGO Modern Challenge results? They seem like a natural evolution of this deck, complete with Day's Undoing and pitch spells. I keep thinking that Teferi's Puzzle Box would be great in them, though.

Interesting point about Eons mana cost. Other than Wurmcoils and Titans, not much relevant stuff that I can think that costs 6. You totally could counter a Mindslaver, but Academy Ruins is bringing it back anyways. lol.
I expected that, because both Notion Thief and Narset, Parter of Veils, along with Teferi's Puzzle Box, is very hard to deal game one for many decks, not everyone has instant speed answers, along with Snapback, just sounds insane.
I seen Whir Prison made 8-0 with susurrus_mtg. I happen to play with his Prison idea in paper, so I watch sometimes his stream. Unfortunately he didn't play any Narset Pitch match-ups, only 3 UW that were using Narsets. The Mono U version of it seems to lose power without Notion Thief, I also think black lets you access good answers like Fatal Push, Unmoored Ego and etc. Could even throw either Ashiok, just for the jankness of it.
Its a shame MTGSalvation is closing, I never found anything near as good. If anyone knows, please share with us.

Hello, I don't think we have a enough good payoff for using the colored mana, rather than what we already accomplish with islands. G Tron otherwise, has Stirrings, that digs for 5 cards as a 1-drop, Sylvan Scrying as a 2-drop, that fetches any land of your deck. We have Repeal for 0 on turn 1, Remand/Condescend/Repeal on turn 2. Helps to cast stuff like Thirst and a decent Condescend while having only tron, and makes it easier to fetch a tron land/ruins with map. Maybe it would facilitate to transmute a Tolaria West too. Could be relevant? For sure. Helps to cycle through the deck and filters mana? Absolutely. Do I rather filter some blue mana to do some pretty specific plays that are not truly determinant nor necessary, because we still can play Islands or drop a Chalice of the Void that wins many matches, specially some obnoxious matches like Bogles/Infect/Burn and many more. Chalice IMO is one of the best Magic cards ever printed, I have very good experience with 4 maindeck, and Pierakor certainly has a even better experience with all aboard.
GTRON will use these artifacts because only one green mana makes them HAVE tron no matter what, its ridiculous how easy they assemble Tron, and their pay-off is that freaking silver dude that loves to lose to U Tron, but normally just win the game right in the spot.

No one ever tried this card in a Aether Vial build? I think it goes really well with Tassa and Thought scour, and even gravecrawler and bloodghast... and that 1/1 unblockable... 5/6 flying, this is def like a blue goyf...

What do you think about cut 3 copies of Opt from Caleb´s list and play 3 desperate ravings?

Opt's reprinting is what made our 17 land deck a lot more consistent. I wouldn't give it up for a 2 cmc cantrip with random discard.

I'm with thought scour, that makes us consistent, back in the day I was using 3 PiF but no gifts, no need for that if we can just ascend. No more probe, no more fun though.
I really like Thought Scour, I do agree that Opt is very strong too, I even considered twisted image for a while... too many Hierarchs and damn Birds

Do you really like River of Tears?
I don't play EE for budget reasons, then I use Field of Ruin + Edge + Quarters.
Quarters are really good because you can fetch it with map, and activate without paying its mana cost, its great against all the Colonades popping up

You’re referring to me or is it just a general thought?

My ‘stock list’ (aka, the one I would register for a GP if it was tomorrow) consists of 2 Engineered Explosives in the sideboard, 2-3 Dismember main and 1-2 side. As you can see, River of Tears is often crucial to set Explosives on two against things like Humans and Merfolks, and they also provide true life-gain in the mid-late, where I can afford to pay Dismember with their full cost (or at least half).

You cannot play three mana-denial lands in the mainboard. I use 1 Field + 1 Quarter main, 1 Tectonic Edge side, but you NEED at least ten blue mana sources outside of Maps. It’s already on the low side, and FoR is only half a blue. I considered several times to cut the Quarter in order to play another blue source (fourth River, that I like, or seventh Island). But, definitely, I like having two outs vs man lands and opposing Tron/Caverns/Boseiju.

    OT.

I really wish for Twin to come back, holy crap.

I play a couple talismans to ramp a bit and fix the blue, thats why I use 3 lands. Then its Tolaria, 6 islands and gemstone, roughly making 10. Then i use another gem cavern side to swap with tec edge/gq.
Choices choices, local meta has been full of Ponza, thats why talismans have been good addition.

I always have 3 winning conditions(2 grapeshot and 1 EtW), you always got to have 2 alternative winning conditions! and i took one past in flames out, the list is roughly the same as finkel's.
In my side board, I run Keranos, but I find it a bit too slow, but Keranos by itself is a winning condition and a hand-feeder. I use 1x gigadrowse, 3x vandalblast(1 mana or 5, can ritual in it the downside is the damn welding jar.), 1x bloodmoon(I would use 2 or even 3, but I don't have anymore moons), 4 bolt and 2 echoing truth, 1x grapeshot and 2 empty the warrens and 1x Keranos. i feel it is a very versatile sideboard, echoing truth and bolt specially. keranos works out great with instant drawing spells(manamorphose, raving, scour) and it is very hard to be removed from the game. you can ritual it in 3rd turn with one spair island and 2 rituals and it puts a lot of pressure, specially if you have the instant cantrip, it replaces itself and can give 3 damage or draw you another card. if you have 2 eletromancers and a pyromancer ascension you can even swing it for 6 damage, but it is a very unusual scenario.
I don't have fetchlands as well, I use 4 reef, 4 vents, 3 confluence, 4 islands and 1 mountain. it is very rare to get mana screwed, probe is a "free" spell, ravings is red draw spell, and since you have 15 potential blue mana source and 12 potential red mana sources, the odds are in our favor. the thining effect of fetchlands is very powerful, you can bypass it by using skill, but it matters enough to you save money and buy at least 4 fetches. sulfur falls enters 1st tapped, and this is a very big drawback IMO, i would have 1 sulfur falls and 1 bluffs, since they are a dead 1st drop land.
