If you hit play and go to ladder constructed it's free. The interface does an awful job displaying the free ladder but I believe they're wokring on that.

    This.

If you want to try a lesser known deck, try BUG Tezzeret or anything BUG for that matter.

Tezzeret decks are a lot of fun and not terrible. The mechanics behind Tezzeret makes for a lot of weird and unique decks. I had a BUG Tezzeret Pod deck that won a lot of games with Myr Battlesphere and Tezzeret's -4. It was a fun FNM deck.

No worries, this card has put me in such a good mood that I cant be put down right now. Im so happy, finally there is a decent response to blue and their overwhelming card advantage. It sucks that it hit so many other archetypes, but in all honesty zombies, pod, and heartless lich combos werent ever going to make it to tier 1 in the first place, this just made it obvious. All this did is hit U/x delver/control and jab at WRR a bit in my eyes.

That's why I dislike this card. It hoses several decks that were struggling to even be playable. I think you're going to find that u/x delver control really doesn't care. The graveyard for those decks is utility, and if a deck plays 3 of these to hose delver's 2-3 Snapcasters, Delver is perfectly okay with that.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but in the context of the current standard meta, this has to be my least favorite card. It severely hoses a couple of the top decks, but mostly it just prevents random fun FNM decks. I had such grand ideas of Zombie Apocalypse sillyness.

I was enjoying the varied meta of Innistrad, and all this card does is hamper creativity. What I don't understand is why such an extreme card had to be printed? No deck has been able to dominate the format, there are already several answers to graveyard based decks, and it seems like it really could have been done in a more tactful way.

Damnit Zombie Apocalypse, I wanted you so bad.

I really like the Pristine Talismans. Particularly against aggro decks, it seemed like it gave Gerry just the extra bit of life he needed to stabilize.

I saw a pretty nifty deck in the invitational. It wasn't straight B/R vamps but he was running Stromkirk and Olivia, alongside Phoenixes and burn. I don't think there is enough support right now for a straight vamp deck; however, the guys deck was definitely effective and he took down WRR in the match I saw.

Well, when I saw a card in someones main deck that I don't think belongs I ask them about it. That's also why I said to scout properly. A lot of times at the tournies people have their friends go around and see what's doing well and you'll start to see it soon enough.

It's a stretch because while he is on the video "cheating" nothing is to the extent that's serious. Drawing an extra card with brainstorm opps and once again it's up to the player his opponent to also call him on it. If they were paying closer attention to what was going on and was called a judge more often then not things will happen.

The videos just go to show you that in order to remove any doubt always call a judge and to pay extremely close attention to detail.

It's pretty ridiculous to expect to expect someone to know their random opponents deck by round three in a 250+ person tournament. When I go to tournaments my friends are normally playing, so unless they happen to play my opponent I almost always have no idea what I'm playing against. The maindeck Sower was nothing out of the ordinary, except that he didn't have a maindeck Sower. I agree people oops on Brainstorm all the time, and the first time he did it in that match it wasn't super sketchy; however, the second time, in the same match, he is pretty obviously trying to hide it. There's no way he didn't realize he drew an extra card. The way he did it even the commentators didn't notice, it wasn't until people watched it afterwords that someone finally caught it.

I would say that drawing extra cards twice in an unfavorable matchup is pretty serious. With the Kira it isn't just that he returned her to his hand, it was that he set it up to look like she went to the graveyard. That is pretty clear intent and goes beyond oops.

I don't think any of that stuff is needed. I read that article also and a lot of that stuff just seems to be a stretch. If they judges step it and allow things to happen then it's cool. He didn't get deck checked either so technically his deck was legal. People should scout better and play closer attention when playing.

How is most of that stuff a stretch? There is video evidence and he has been called out several times. Also, how was his opponent supposed to know that the Sower wasn't maindeck? He didn't have access to his opponents decklist.

Did Alex Bertoncini admit to cheating through Twitter? I just saw these posts on the Twitter feed.

Nevermind, it isn't his Twitter account. Thanks for clarifying that.

This is what we have to listen to for the Invitational? Arguably the most important SCG tournament this year. Frown

I've heard good things about Helen of Troy, and I've seen as much of her in real life as I've seen of any of the other "hottest woman of all time" so I'm going with Helen.

I played around with this deck, and it is good. However, in my experience, the singletons and the manabase make it inconsistent. I know that correlation means little, but I believe the inconsistency is shown in the amount of 3-1 records you cited. Consistency issues do not wreak havoc in every game, but over the course of a tournament it shows. I just feel that it is a less consistent Grixis control deck.

I like this list a lot. Whipflare is nice because it isn't as mana intensive as slagstorm. It also goes down medium between the midrange list and the control list; hopefully this gives it the advantages of both. This is a result of my local meta, but I don't run Grave Titan in anything because of the number of Phantasmal Illusions running around. Inferno Titan kills the image easily, as well as any burn spel;, but if they copy my Grave Titan they receive a lot of value for one card. Both titans end the game quickly, but Inferno Titan doesn't offer my opponent redemption.

I've been testing this list a bit, which goes for more of a burning vengeance angle. If you untap with burning vengeance and a liliana, you get to do things that are so dirty you should be required by law to shower after. definitly need to get in a lot more testing, but so far it seems like a solidish concept. I'm debating trying to find room for two grave titans (would drop one olivia and possibly a slagstorm). Any tips would be awesome.
    [DECK]Creatures
    3x Olivia Voldaren
    2x Snapcaster Mage

    3x Burning Vengeance

    4x Desperate Ravings
    2x Dissipate
    1x Negate
    3x Forbidden Alchemy
    4x Geistflame
    3x Mana Leak
    4x Think Twice

    4x Slagstorm

    3x Liliana of the Veil

    4x Blackleave Cliffs
    4x Darkslick Shores
    4x Island
    3x Mountain
    2x Stensia Bloodhall
    4x Sulfur Vents
    3x Swamp

If you want to go the vengeance route, I've always liked the no creature list. The problem with running three Olivias as your only real creature is that she is going to be the target of every removal spell your opponent has, because you literally have no other targets. I like Olivia a lot but I think you would get more value from 2x Snapcaster and 1x Batterskull. The Batterskull is good because it's reusable so it doesn't matter how many times they target it. The Snapcasters provide a lot of value between vengeance and their simple utility. I don't know how Think Twice and Desperate Ravings have been working for you, but I find that when I use both there is serious diminishing returns. I've always been a fan of the singleton Devil's Play because I don't feel bad about ditching it to Lily, and I find it wins a surprising amount of games. I like Geistflame, but how often are you drawing Geistflame's when you need bigger answers? I would drop a couple Geistflame's and add a few Doomblades/Go for the Throats since they answer Hero of Bladehold. Just my suggestions, I like vengeance a lot and I feel like it's just waiting to be broken.

If you want to play Grave Titan I think he is definitely a better choice than Olivia because even if he is removed right away, the tokens make it harder to answer him.

Chandra's a fun card, but she's a dead card far too often. Her -2 requires mana, and a card worth copying. It takes two turns for Chandra to really begin doing anything. The -1 is basically irrelevant, because if you are casting her on turn 4, 1/1s are not your biggest problem. She has no ability to defend herself against anything bigger than a 1/1.

Ultimately, Chandra is a less effective Snapcaster Mage.
