People do accept non NM cards on there, I know I do.
It depends. I had one guy message me beforehand about the condition, and we discussed a point send back to accommodate. I had another person, however, just send me an MP card for a trade without mentioning beforehand. I messaged him, told him that the site specifically stipulated NM and that I would be sending the card back. I'm also more likely to accept some wear on older cards or cards that I want for EDH.
This is becoming a problem. I keep receiving older cards in seriously played condition. I even had a creased card sent to me with binder dings and whiting around all edges of the boarder. I put a reminder in my profile that I only want NM/M cards, but keep getting cards of lesser condition.
I even saw another members profile flat out say that if you send him cards that aren't NM/M he is just going to keep them and consider them a gift.
acedra? yeah, i sent him some cards.
he went ballistic over this: http://imgur.com/RizWrX9 i check all of my cards before sending them out and i didn't even notice it. unfortunately, before he opened a case, i had sent him more cards, and he is claiming he didn't get them. i think he did get them and is holding a grudge against me lol. threatening to keep cards if they are not nm is kinda going against the rules of pucatrade though lol.
just mark on your profile you will send cards back if its not nm, that will keep people straight. i have never gotten anything horrible, but i have only gotten my standard deck from puca so far.
I have a few users who I sent cards to a while back that haven't confirmed my sent cards. I've messaged them but gotten now responses. They are all cards that are around a buck, and I'm pretty sure based on their point totals that they just joined the site to get 3-4 bucks worth of free cards. Will I be likely to get these points if I open a case? I'm just worried that if I open up several cases the mods of the website will think I didn't actually send and am trying to rip people off.
Edit: I have completed 26 trades for about 100 dollars (sending. and received about 80 dollars worth) on the site so far, so I do have a bit of credibility that will help in cases I think.
you are going to get your points. open a case and alert admin at 2 weeks after ship date (if usa -> usa, 1 month if usa -> foreign country). people signing up and forgetting they have an account and/or that they need to click confirm happens all of the time. they will wait a week or so and complete the trade.
specifically, check out page monitor extension for chrome. it is invaluable. my minimum for shipping is 3$ per 49c stamp.
overall puca has treated me very well. i have completed my standard deck and am on my way to getting several revised duals after sending out around 1k$ in cards in this past month. all the people that complain about standard prices should start using this site lol. i don't think i will ever be without a standard deck thanks to this site. my main gripe is slow shippers. i did have one guy complain about NM- cards calling them LP and taking days to respond. of course before that ordeal i had sent him another letter, which he had not confirmed yet and i think he will try to claim he has not received them.
also lol at one of the posts on this thread "serious player rarely trade" LOL are you kidding. do you just happen to have 4x of every card ever? and buylisting? shooting yourself in the foot on value pretty hard there.
the only two stores that have regular modern tournaments in the houston area(i think) are heroes collectibles and asgards. heroes metagame is stagnant, asgards has bunch of random people. for league city ish, gerards has decent standard support and is local, strike zone is good for friday large drafts, empire comics is good for 8 man pods on fridays(and the friendliest people) and is local, and will power has a friday night midnight draft after their decent sized standard fnm.
a bloke (kid he is a good kid though been playing for 6 months) who doesnt even know what upkeep is or what the stack is opened 2 sarkhans 6 fetchlands in his 2 pre-releases 22 packs
screw the stack and priority and technical play, teach me how to open fetches/sarkhan/sorin.
my store said wizards shorted them on product. which may just be a convenient excuse. they have never had this problem before. didn't know about this "problem" before after i was already committed to playing that store that night. weeeee 11 packs for getting 1st out of 57.
I opened 86 prize packs (2 unopened booster boxes + 14 loose packs) with friends from the midnight prerelease after we took Top 3 and found there to be a shockingly low number of fetches. We only opened 4 total from 86 packs but we did get a foil and nonfoil Sarkhan and a bunch of other goodies. However at the prerelease, I opened a Windswept Heath and all my opponents opened 1 fetch as well. I faced 2 opponents and saw multiple people next to me have 2 fetches which I found to be mind blowing. I wonder if it's worth picking up leftover prerelease packs for $25-30 considering you seem to have a greater chance of opening fetches and a chance of a sweet promo rare.
Second prerelease today, I opted for credit instead of packs after going 3-0-1 because the pulls were pretty meh from the midnight prerelease. Here's a picture of the boxes we opened.
how many prize packs are they awarding you lol?! for mky store it is 11 for 4-0, 8 for 3-1-1 and 5 for 3-1.
23 boosters from my two prereleases and no fetch, no sarkhan, no sorin. pretty sure the tcgplayer total of everything adds up to less than 30$ perorder price. very few of my opponents had opened up a fetch either. only the scrubs had managed to open a fetch.
I just heard about this project on reddit. Seems to be a magic client but with rules/trigger automation. Development of new cards is slow because they code in each one individually.

sort and buylist your cards online and learn whats going on. if you buylist your useless stuff and keep what you can use for decks, i think you will have more resources than you think. drafting and winning is also a great way to build a collection of newer cards. sell your 7$+ dollar cards you can't use for decks on tcgplayer.
I don't play Modern, but I'm guessing that the reason fetchlands are good is because they can find non-basic lands that still have land types? Like the Shocklands, etc? I dunno, I'm just not that impressed by them - they just seem like glorified Evolving Wilds to me. And a lot of duals have caveats attached to them - ETBT, loss of life, etc.
lol.
is this a troll or are people really like this on salvation?
fetches are some of the best lands ever printed in conjunction with duals and shocks.
maro is fine. forsythe is the one ruining magic ;D
tbh i have wanted to make a photoshop of forsythe in hugo boss regalia with symbols of standard combo decks being forced to wear yellow Kombi badges on their sleeves and forced to live in housing complexes labeled "Der Banlisten" and "Erbe".
i am about 300$ away from either of them.

Xmage is the best client right now imo
it has seriously impressed me. it has rules enforcement and priority passing like modo, but is free and easy to play with others. its almost perfect.
