Wx Voltron builds love this thing. It was a beast in my Zurgo build back when I was playing it. Mind you, that was a while ago but still a fine tool in that deck, but still I'm a little surprised by the value.

Well, in her defense, on your opponents turn she's napping and not as quick to move to action?

These arts and cards are just pathetic.

Its like the My Little Pony cards, but as a set on its own.

    ----

Not a fan of pooping on lore like this, it makes the art a joke in a bad way.

I'm trying to understand how a dog is "My Little Pony" in any way? What's pathetic about this? What lore is this ruining? Do you think normal dogs don't exist in any Magic world? You made similar statements before and yet offer no explanation past thinking about MLP, a lot.

By chance, did you think Grizzly Bears was pathetic too? Watch out! It's a realistic animal next to dragons, angels, elves, goblins, and Beebles.

The original commenter seems to be completely unaware of how silly Phil and Kaja Foglio's work have been in the past, or the existence of cards like Sensation Gorger. I was going to mention Beebles too, but I see you've captured (sic.) those. There have always been a few silly things in the game. I think it's a combination of the MLP (his words, not ours) sense and the large male crotch in the artwork, and his or her reaction to those things that is making them uncomfortable.

Well, it seems likely to win counterspell wars but I don't think it's main deck playable in anything other than Vintage/Legacy because of the number of things it misses in Modern/Pioneer/Standard/Historical.

GB cat oven mirrors are going to want this in a bad way. I see a lot of smashed ovens in the near future.

The pig is ultra adorable. Wildwood Scourge is a cute little hyrda in the right context, kind of wish they'd bumped the rarity and given it trample.

Also of note is that this makes it worthwhile to take a second look at Death's Oasis which feels like an engine without enough parts right now... this is a new part right here.

Seems pretty stock. Draw is always supposed to be good but somehow these never are. This one dies seem a little pushed vs. previous reasons and enchantment matters is still a theme in Stsndard, so maybe... But I'd be surprised.

    Seems good with Dual Casting.

Or a level 4 Echo Mage, I guess.

For the ultimate in jank, add any of Goblin Medics, Night Market Lookout, Servant of Tymaret, Fallowsage, Sphinx's Disciple or, my personal favorite, Grimoire Thief

Edit: on second thought, with rituals this could be a t3 win in Modern. Clearly not a deck but maybe the seed of something.

I like the art alot A dragon try to steal the crystals

And in a way it only cost 1R since you get 2 mana back might be handy

Heck if you say black after the attack you can sac the stolen creature with Village Rites

Well, village rites or attack as you would like the maba when you move to combat.

This card makes me laugh. It is super pushed but also not playable (without investing more cards into protecting him). We live in weird times.

Any deck that wants to run cards to protect him will also include other cards to protect with that protection, so I don't think it's every going to be a case where you have dead protection in your hand/on top of your deck. This, historically has been the problem with protection cards - that the rate at which they were dead draws was too high. In the current meta, I think this guy, a few other top-end beaters (Q Beast etc.) some ramp and some protection probably puts G or Gx exactly where we all want it to be. I'm 100% here for that. As an Umari Sultai Mutate player on Arena, there's a very high chance this guy will replace the Jellyfish Hydra once it rotates out so I'm quite happy to see it. If my opponents are killing this, they aren't killing something else.

Am I missing something - I feel like with 6 power on board you'd spend 4RR, not 4 which is how I read your comment.

Apologies. Half paying attention math error, did it based on 10 total not 12 total. Still 6 is a fair price to kill two large things with the option of walkers. Not a great, staple level card but it has potential.

I would agree, 1RR and 3 are both perfectly fine prices to pay for "Destroy target creature or Walker". Stapling them together and making it "maybe destroy up to 2 target creatures or walkers" feels fine. The fact that sometimes it's 3RR or 2RR is fine too. It's a great way to clear the board before an alpha strike. Perfectly fine in limited potentially playable in constructed. Anax, Hardened in The Forge and Runaway Steam-kin with a dork or two basically makes it RR which you could probably pay with counters from the steamkin.

you have to have 10 power on board to make this hit 2 things for 6... im not impressed

Well... no. You have to have 10 power to do that for two mana. If you have, say, 6 power you do it for 4 mana. Which is a pretty good deal. It’s still not a good card. But it could be fine if something like Chandra’s Incinerator sees play.

So, Basri is just Gideon without that silly wrist blade thing?

Basically, he filling in the role of a more combat focus white walker Gideon had, but is more of a go wide than Gideon one man army feel. Funny enough that ends up treading more on Elsepths space.

Other than the fact that he himself doesn't become a creature, he seems pretty much Interchangeable with the 4 mana Gideon from the last Zendikar block. Boost a creature, grow the army, really grow your army. I do see what you mean about going wide and Elspeth, but it would be nice if we could see something brand new for a White 'walker.
"Other than Gideon's main thing, this new planeswalker does the same thing" sure is a claim. Gideon's core planeswalker identity has always been turning into a creature. If you were to remove that constant, his abilities would be all over the place in white. You're also misremembering Gideon, Ally of Zendikar. He doesn't have "boost a creature" anywhere on his card, and the emblems are pretty radically different in how they play out.

    That's probably fair.
