In limited at least, I think the card incentivize asymmetric piles like 1/4, as either a big evasive creature can be rapidly lethal or a bunch of cards can be too much advantage. Is it mythic-worthy though? In consytructed, for a split like 3/2, jace's ingenuity plus a 2/2 flyer is good, but not dominating. Especially since they can give you the worse pile and a 3/3 if need be.
There will be corner cases where it is really good, but giving your opponent a choice rarely pays off.
I mean,it's Fact or Fiction plus upside. A card which spawned the meme "Fact or Fiction, I win". So, there's that?
no it isn’t - you split piles, opponent chooses. And in any case, that hasn’t been true of FoF for quite a while.
I still kinda like this, but it is 5 mana for what is never quite what you want.

Power 2 or less is a rather friendly restriction given that some notable cards like Karmic Guide fall quite happily into that group. Yes, I get that the cost still needs to be paid but CA in white is CA in white.
I dunno, I feel like there are times when you have artifacts, or artifact tokens that are doing very little. The ability then becomes very like a mana sink, which is a good thing to have.
The Hoverstone Pilgrim feels like it's over hosted by by just 1 colorless for constructed playable. It could've had just one toughness less and it would've been just fine. I suppose it's an acceptable artifact for Commander though. It is repeatable deck recycling, that can also shuffle into thejbrary the troublesome graveyard cards I give it a "B" (if I was using the classic "S, A, B, C, D, F" chart.
Agreed. Shave a mana and a toughness and it's a great card.
It appears to be in the same category of creatures as Tolarian Terror, Gearseeker Serpent, or Gurmag Angler but I don't know if it can make the splash those did since it relies specifically on the number of caves on battlefield and in graveyard. Only Cavernous Maw and Forgotten Monument etb untapped or require no transformation condition, so I suppose it could be a decent turn 4 creature.
Oh, it was a good joke. Just unclear how many layers it had. I think t4 this is perfectly fine. However, I agree it's not Gurmag Angler good
Why are we getting so many repeats from the release day spoilers as if they were new?
i was gonna say we got the plesiosaurus on the 25th
The Plesiosaurus, that cute little robot dino that grants Menace. Maybe I'm missing something and these are alternate prints or something but they feel like they aren't.
Remember when a red bear was news? Now, admittedly this is legendary so there's a slight drawback but I feel like red mages aren't going to feel raw about this at all.
Would help if I RTFC, wouldn't it?

It's not like any of the flip conditions, other than the blue one, are that hard to satisfy.
Ha ha, once again I'm tripped up by UB (universes beyond) vs. UB (Dimir)
Hopefully this will get a universes within version at some point.

Yes, but does it suck in a useful way?

I had this problem with Star Whale being 8/8 only and got into hot water. I guess we just accept that flavor and function can't always line up.
This one's pretty good though.
