The bannings were amended because more often than not, they created situations that were simply not fun for one or more players. We're trying to allow everyone to be as casual as they want. Again, we expect the list to change over time.
What my real question was - Which I thought the banning was merely secondary to - was the formatting. It's a condensed version of the ruleset, presented in a handy sheet for new players to reference. Was there anything else (like the "be considerate of time & know your deck" suggestion) above ?
Also, as a relatively new player, would this massive wall of text seem too imposing to read to learn to play ?
I would love any feedback y'all can give on our rules sheet. The pdf's not able to be attached in here, so I linked a .jpeg. It should be big & readable.
As you can see, Most of the rules are directly off of the main edh home site - some are simplified even further. We have also included Sorin, Crucible, Magister sphinx and Emerakul on our banned list. Time will tell if they stay there.
Please place large images in spoiler tags in future. -viper
I'd still think a heartless hidetsugu deck would be the way to go.
Also, don't overlook that being able to clear the board (obliterate being my fave) and float 8 mana for a godo and attaching the grafted exoskeleton he finds. that's 5 poison per attack, 2 attacks per round. You could even shoot for gratuitous violence and furnace of wrath or any other of your "attack again" cards to make him kill multiple opponents with poison per round.
Kuldotha Phoenix -> Heartless Hidetsugu
Skarrgan Firebird -> Hoarding Dragon
Bosh -> Artisan of Kozilek
Wurmcoil Engine -> Ruination
Jokulhaups -> Wake of Destruction
Recoup -> Relic of progenitus
Khalni Gem -> Mindstone
Loxodon Hammer -> Mimic Vat
Tower o' Fortune-> Skullclamp
Distorting lens ->Insurrection
Journeyer's Kite -> Wheel of Fate

I'd like to try and figure out a couple more clever plays. I'd like to figure out a few more ways to do cool things. One would be a reliable method to win quickly with a single "inferno" activation of Jaya without impacting the overall utility of the rest of my deck. I am unsure how good my mana ramp is in the deck. I may need to figure out a way to make it faster.
There's a few cards I think are interesting, but unsure of how useful they are on their own.
