were insane every time either played them, which was quite a bit. Heroe's Downfall and Whip of Erebos also looked good, but weren't seen enough in full function. Downfall is obviously going to be good tho. Whip in conjunction with Obzedat makes him nearly unkillable. (Yes, it works the way you think it does)
I don't think there are any "broken" cards. However, the cards that I foresee many complaints about (think Sphinx's Rev, Thragtusk)
Polukranos, World Eater
Elspeth, Sun's Champion
Heliod, God of the Sun (especially in conjuction with Planeswalkers)
are the most glaring offenders to me. Any of the gods that do well are going to be complained about for being indestructible. Glare of Heresy handles 2 problems in Elspeth and Heliod, and I think??? they made a 2G Revoke Existance, so answers exist at least, but people won't learn to play them immediately.
I also suspect the scry lands to make people mad when their opponents ALWAYS have the right cards.
Yes, I agree with red. But white? Really? He's slow as molasses. Standard isn't slowing down that much. Tokens will lose their relevancy when Lingering Souls goes the way of the Dodo. A 2/1 token every turn is strong, but not for four mana.
It really is tho
Avacyn's Pilgrim
Arbor Elf
Flint-Hoof Boar
Hellrider
Geist of Saint Traft
Rancor
Invisible Stalker
Restoration Angel
Huntmaster of the Fells
Bonfire of the Damned
are all huge blows to aggressive strategies. Sphinx's Rev is still around, Detention Sphere, Supreme Verdict, Azorius Charm, Jace, Architect of Thought, Far/Away, Turn/Burn, Warleader's Helix, Magma Jet, Anger of the Gods, Elspeth, Sun's Champion...it's going to be a tough time for aggro for a while.
Scry lands (these are fantastic)
Elspeth, Sun's Champion (the premier planeswalker of the set imo)
Hero's Downfall
Anger of the Gods
Heliod
Sylvan Caryatid
Purphoros
Stormbreath Dragon
Fleecemane Lion
Xenagos, the Reveler
Bow of Nylea
Polukranos
4/2 flash guy
In no real order
Left off reprints
Read the Bones and the scry force spike should also see play.
Heliod, I can't believe how underrated he is compared to the black one and even the red one. The red one is good because he's got the best suit of creatures with high devotion in Reckoner, Ash Zealot, Chandra's Phoenix, and Rakdos Cackler.
Heliod protecting planeswalkers is going to drive people insane.
No, I say Magic is dying because set design has been insular and boring for years. Why do you think they bring back fan favorites like Scrye? Because if they didn't people would lose interest. Luckily Wizards knows how to sell the brand (X-Box game, anyone?) so they continue to grow numbers of new players, but the growing popularity in expanded tournament types (Modern and Legacy) shows that new cards are lacking the luster they once had.
Or you can be happy with yet another Cancel...
Innistrad and Return to Ravnica were 2 of the best sets if all time design wise, both full of interesting cards and flavor. Magic has never been more popular, attendance records are being broken left and right.

Why would you play thassa over Read the Bones?

Heliod protecting planeswalkers is going to drive people insane.
Stormbreath Dragon is a big deal tho.
Nothing, it's the prototypical aggressive red 1 drop with a drawback.
Goblin Guide, Jackal Pup, Rakdos Cackler, Spark Elemental, Goblin Cohort, Etc
No, it has to be a spell that targets.
Innistrad and Return to Ravnica were 2 of the best sets if all time design wise, both full of interesting cards and flavor. Magic has never been more popular, attendance records are being broken left and right.
Yes, like from Perilous Research.
Although Idk how good that actually is.
card seems decent tho.
I don't think you're playing the same legacy as everyone else
Not even close to 90% of matches end on turn 3, it's probably close to 10%.
You won't play it over Negate in standard and won't play it over Spell Pierce or Flusterstorm in legacy
