Not sure how much I have spent in all but I can say that in the process of putting together my foiled out Seton, Krosan Protector mono green EDH, all in all it ended up costing me around $3,500-$4,000 >_>
But I spend probably somewhere in the $50-$125 a month on average if I had to guess
Sunday evening got email that my package shipped, about 20 minutes ago knock at the door. Fedex guy handed me a package it was the Masterpiece box. All I can say is I have my fingers crossed for those still in limbo.
Just checked and I got the same confirmation email. I submitted my payment information at approximately 3:00:47 PM EST (was running a stopwatch out of boredom) The payment took a bit longer to process than normal (roughly 20 or so seconds for confirmation screen to pop up) so all in all my order was finished around 3:01:20 PM for me.
Ok I opened up a Karn, the Great Creator in my War of the Spark box and got Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge as buy a box promo. Temporarily replacing Saheeli Rai and Tezzeret the Seeker in my deck and see how these new cards do. I once again updated my list above to reflect these changes. (also added foil tags since I just found out how to do it the other day -_-*)
Oh wow thank you! Seriously, I would feel very honored to have my list used as an example. Also I just had a birthday so I used the money I received to finally round out my two missing fetches and one missing shock land by adding copies of Steam Vents, Polluted Delta, and Scalding Tarn to my deck. I have updated my list above to reflect these changes.
As for my deck's strategy, it's more or less the same as what you propose on the front page. I hope to get out Possibility Storm posthaste for fun Mishra shenanigans. But I can give a few general thoughts on my build if you would like:
Saheeli, the Gifted
Her first +1 ability gives us a blocker, a pinger, or a target for Master Transmuter/Goblin Welder/etc. I find it relatively versatile. However, it's her second +1 ability that really motivated me to add her to my deck. As it lowers the casting cost of my next spell by X, with X being equal to the number of artifacts I control. And that's any next spell cast, not just our artifacts. This allows me to play some of my bigger spells considerably earlier than I normally would expect. I mean how about a Turn 5-6 Blightsteel Colossus? anyone?
Tezzeret the Seeker
I primarily kept him him in my build because his -X ability allows me to tutor for artifact pieces that I might need in a pinch. My usual targets are things like Sol Ring, Nevinyrral's Disk, or Crawlspace depending on if I'm playing offensively or defensively. He can also untap some pieces in the deck for either more mana, or doubling up on artifact effects like Skeleton Shard or Metalworker. .
Vedalken Orrery
My favorite (personal choice) addition in the deck. It allows me to play anything in the deck at instant speed. So with Mycosynth Lattice, Unwinding Clock, and a handful of lands and/or mana rocks on the field, I'm free to cast basically anything whenever I want, assuming it's in my hand at the time. I feel the card particularly shines in the regard that it allows me to cast a Blightsteel Colossus or a Nevinyrral's Disk at the end of my opponent's end step so that these cards are primed and ready to wreak destruction the moment my turn begins; rather than having to wait a full turn and give my opponent's ample time to come up with a response under normal casting conditions.
If you have any other question about the deck just let me know and I will do my best to explain.
Dude what about Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge? His +2 Seems like a pretty solid alternative win con for us. But I very much look forward to the next set.
Anyways Deck Update! Figure I should do this at least one time a year. I still swear by Vedalken Orrery and how many times I have set up a win at the end of my opponent's turn. This has become, by far, the deck my friends ask to borrow the most often.
Question cause googling doesn't seem to have an answer. If I have Mishra, Artificer Prodigy, Nether Void, and Possibility Storm all on the field at the same time. Since possibility storm says cast in both triggers. And nether void said counter on cast does that mean if I stacked Mishra triggers correctly that both would come back?
Honestly I don't use Vedalken Orrery for ETB effects so much as how much can be done with all our available mana and a frequently full hand. And for some reason, it's been ignored every single time I've played it. But mostly it's a card that, so far, has yet to be a dead draw. Having the option to play anything anytime is always a nice option.
Current deck Update! Cause why not?!?! >_> And in case you are wondering, I took out portcullis because my local players refused to play the deck otherwise. And in all honestly, it usually forced the games into stagnation and often it hurt my plays as well. So I switched it out for Vedalken Orrery so I can do silly things on other players turns.
Normally I wouldn't pay attention to a coming set this early, and I know you do prefer to do the review once the whole set list drops... but this hit the net today and I think it's a bit up our alley Awesomeness
18 hour later edit: we are 7 cards in and I love this set -_-* help
here's my 2 cents. First off do I think it will become main stream? At the anime cons I visit here on the east coast it already is to a large degree in my eyes. There are usually around two panels, one about the culture and one about fur suit creation, across the weekend catering to furries and those curious and thats not counting the ever growing number if fursuiters I see at the anime cons every year. However, if your looking for straight up acceptance, that is a whole different story. As someone who finally was able to put a name to my curiously in anthropomorphic characters in college, and have loosely identified as once since for roughly the last 8 years. I see the way people at the cons look at the fursuiters sometime with confusion and often with a mixture of annoyance and disgust. Like it would be hard to break that mentality. Is it possible? of course, but even myself as a furry find fursuiters really weird personally. So if I find them somewhat off putting, I can only imagine what goes through the head of a non furry(?)
And to be honest I don't completely want it to be mainstream. Like it seems special in its little subculture nook in society. And to go much more mainstream then it is would only lead to people abusing the culture for personal gain and capitalism I feel to a degree.
Oh and finally you can cite every page you want arguing the innocence and the misunderstanding of the culture but based off the furries I've interacted with, which across nearly a decade of interactions at cons, both anime and furry, as well as online; I would argue that there is often a blurred line between what is a "fandom" and what borders on a fetish. And for the record I work hard to keep my distance from the yiff side of the community as I grew tired of people years ago asking my character to do things I'm not comfortable with. Like yes there is an innocent aspect to it, yes there is an adult aspect to it, yes the adult aspect gets way more attention then any other aspect, but like to call it just a fandom and write off the deeper aspects of the culture is just making excuses to me, to try and justify a want for the culture to be more accepted.
So I played my Mishra deck for the first time in a few weeks the other day. I totally forgot what a lock Portcullis combined with Possibility Storm is for most decks... Including myself to a lesser degree lol
But I spend probably somewhere in the $50-$125 a month on average if I had to guess
