^ this, Nahri built the hedrons to direct the leylines on Zendikar (if I remember correctly) to attract the Eldrazi by amplifying the existing mana & she's messing with the moon and building giant pillars of bodies. Would it be far fetched to say she is using Innistrad as a lure for the Eldrazi? whether or not Emrakul shows up, her purpose in creating the pillars/using the moon could be a signal to Sorin that she will make Innistrad the next victim and the madness is a by product of her messing with the moon, a symbol of Avacyn as well as the monsters?

Token strategies, affinity. Our biggest issue is decks going really wide, this is a catch all to help with that problem.

Rashimi developed something that would allow non-Planeswalkers to planeswalk. While the first iteration did not allow organic matter to planeswalk doesn't mean Rashimi can't figure that out (for plot purposes). If Wizards creative doesn't want to non-Planeswalker to planeswalk, that doesn't stop the bad guys from transporting inorganic matter like robots (robot invasion of another plane, for example).

Phyrexians close enough?

I still think Phyrexia comes into play in this sooner or later. Bolas sent Tezzeret there for a reason. Immediately after he sends him to Kaladesh- for a reason. Now Tezzeret's back in play, Bolas is coming back into play this set or the next (I love the idea of there not being a Bolas card in this set, meaning Dark Intimation's true value will have to wait).

I'm looking more forward to the Chandra/Baral fight right now, personally.

Jace will lean in to kiss Liliana after she saves the Gatewatch, but he'll make the mistake of closing his eyes and she'll quickly switch places with a zombie right before his lips land on hers. He opens his eyes and discovers that he's accidentally smooched Gisa's mom. He immediately planeswalks to Ravnica in tears and isn't seen for awhile. The eventual Return to Return to Ravnica block will contain exactly three cards, all of which will depict Gideon in various stages of hugging Jace and telling him that everything's gonna be okay.

Faced with the need to do something with all that Eldrazi meat she and her army have chopped up, Thalia will open a grill called Cathars' Marinade. Saint Traft will possess Liliana and he'll argue a lot with the Raven Man about what Liliana should have for dinner (she's not welcome at Cathars' Marinade after that whole Helvault fiasco).

Lots of vampires and cathars and other non-angel creatures will flock to Sorin's infrastructural prison at Markov Manor and taunt him with stupid stone-based puns like "boy, your relationship with Nahiri sure got rocky." He'll frown really menacingly but not do anything else about it, so he'll serve pretty much the same narrative function as he has for the past few years.

Hal and Alena will get sick of everyone making such a big deal about their relationship and they'll spend years moving around to avoid members of Design showing up at their houses and asking them to pose for card art for a supplemental product.

Today's story mentioned that the benevolent giests of the holy dead had been held back by Avacynian wards, which were ritualistically placed on graves to keep the dead dead as the "blessed sleep." This would be counter productive for humanity if, as we saw today, the giests of good humans retain their "goodness" and would be able to rise and assist the living, like the ancestors of the Abzan. The more holy humans die, the more holy giests to back them up. Its speculation on my part, but its not infeasible that the wards were in part Sorin's idea. It would serve the dual purpose of denying ghoulcallers zombies (which compete with vampires over killing humans) as well as deny humans reinforcement from most benevolent giests (some would get through as not all dead received the wards, such as when people are killed far from civilization) which could have helped turn the tide in their favor against vampires. The story where Sorin kills Avacyn confirms that they have met face to face a number of times, and that he makes her forget him.

According to the Art Book, most of the demons were purged following Avacyn Restored, leaving only a handful still active on the plane. Ormendahl survived by hiding in the catacombs beneath the Cathedral.

I tend to see Koth a bit differently. True, he's very much about fighting for the purity of Mirrodin and the last of its survivors, but I don't think that's all there is to him. Whereas Chandra is more emotional and free-spirited, Koth seems to be more about red's elements of resistance and true freedom at any cost, along with a desire for peace and unity rarely seen among mono-red characters. Whereas Chandra tends to the more radical elements of red, Koth seems to be more towards the middle; calmer unless pushed and more set and confident in his goals and actions. I think creatively that allows a very different space than Chandra. Like Elspeth left Mirrodin and found a cause aligned with her convictions in Theros, I could see Koth doing the same if Mirrodin is truly lost. Maybe on Vryn or a new plane where a resistance force needs a leader?

To the point on Nahiri, it does seem like Creative backed themselves into a corner. It'll be hard to simply write a quick 180 to hero again, and also difficult to give her new motivation with her revenge on Sorin completed in her mind. Ugin seems most likely, but if Creative wanted a redemption arc, I could see a long side-quest where she sees her error through the failure or corruption of another revenge-set villain. If done right, Ob Nixilis and her reunion could offer a nice mirror-image story where she sees what path she's following. Cliche, probably, but it COULD BE done right. I'm interested to see what's next for her.

In "A Gaze Blank And Pitiless", it is said that the demons were scattered beyond being able to do anything. It can be assumed that Avacyn somehow found a way to purge them.

There are some claims that Ormendahl got assimilated by Emrakul; someone with the artbook should clarify that. But at any rate all demon cards in SOI had evidence of Emrakul's taint (lattice, deformations, et cetera), and there is only one Skirsdag card in the whole of EM (maybe two, if you count Prying Questions), so it's not hard to assume all demons were in fact assimilated and most cultists jumped ship to Emrakul.

Hell (geddit), the fact that demons were among the first creatures to be almost fully assimilated seems to suggest that they were especially vulnerable, and that there are none left.

I hope there isn't someone in design that is proud of this.

Also, I hope this is not a reference to 26 being the "number" of Yahweh in hebrew gematria, because that is some damn convoluted inside baseball stuff.
